This place recently had a fire, and it took them out of business for 6 months, but they pulled together as a family and worked around the clock to rebuild their shop. Wonderful staff and even better food. Always happy and greatful for every customer. Best kebabs in Barnsley, possibly the country.
Lackis is absolutely amazing, being brought up in cudworth been their many times, always had the best kebab about. Was awful to see the aftermaths from the fire last year but the family worked together to get the place back up and running in no time, bigger and better. Amazing staff Georgina and Andreas are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Great traditional family run business.
This place is an absolute treasure. When I'm in the mood for a kebab there's no other option really in Barnsley. Family owned and using there own recipes from Cyprus. You can't go wrong.

them peas are home cooked and they look lovely i remember my mum used to make homemade peas i had them in a cup with vinegar and they were exactly that colour

If you go Greece, a Gyros is about the 5th of the size of that one! BTW I make my own bacon kebabs. Fry up 3 or 4 slices of bacon, slice them up and put in pitta under the usual lettuce, toms, cue and garlic mayo.
After watching Danny's review myself and a friend travelled from Sheffield to Barnsley to visit Lackis. We both had their lamb kebab and chips. Best kebab ever! Also amazing perfect chips! Hope to revisit very soon!
Food looked amazing. And very well priced. We get a Greek food truck at my local pub (Essex) the gyro’s are lovey but a 3rd of the size of that monster for the wonderful price of £9-50.

Few recommendations (1) Urban Tandoor - hilarious tiktok, unreal curries & great staff, (2) Taka Taka - best gyros you'll find in the UK, & (3) Sandwich Sandwich - HUGE and amazing sandwiches. All would be unreal videos - bit of a trek for you but well worth it 👍
I'm from USA and I thought the malt vinegar went on the fish. That tasted real good to me. But then I saw something where they put it on the chips. You put the vinegar on the fish. Well, now I know that I was correct from the start! Also, I can hardly understand you Danny but I'm larfing all the time. Very enjoyable videos.
Many chip shops will only put salt and vinegar on the chips, not the fish, especially if they're being wrapped up (to avoid the batter going soggy). Personally I always ask them to put it on the fish too though, it tastes better 👍🏼
Danny weird concoctions ? For the last 60 years mines been eggs and chips with horseradish sauce. Don’t know why but the yolk chip and sauce sends my senses into party mode 🎂😃

Weird concotions. 2 fried eggs, chips and curry sauce with lots of Warburtons bread for butties and dipping in. The combo of yolk and curry sauce is sublime.
I tried the chips donner meat curry sauce and Hulk peas on Wednesday.Its a wonderful combo of flavours.Not the cheapest but you get quality food cooked with love.
It all looks like good food, especially the fish! I would say it is a bit on the expensive side, however, nothing is cheap anymore... I give it a solid 8
Danny my weird concoction is a buttered baguette filled with nicely cooked chips in beef dripping, mushy peas, stuffing and gravy. It's to die for!! :-)
