Thank you David for the review. I do landscapes mostly and I think this is a better fit than my 17-28. Most of the time, I do not shooting wider than 20mm on the 17-28. The 40mm on the long end seems to me to be a better FL for a walk around lens. I do not have the 35-150 yet but I agree the combo can do almost anything other than the super long situations. Thanks again.
Ordered my Tamron 20-40mm f/2.8 Di III VXD and will receive it on the first of November. I already have the older 17-28 Tamron which is an awesome lens, but often miss the longer reach. This new lens will definitely complement my amazing Tamron 35-150 f/2-2.8 lens which is my all time favorite for my Sony A7IV! I like my Sigma’s, but Love my Tamrons!!!
I've also thought about that combination of the 20-40mm, the 35-150mm and if needed the 150-500mm. For light packing just the 20-40mm and the 50-400mm. I just have to step a little forward or backward to get that 40-50mm range. Thank you for mentioning that combination. I meant to do it in the video.

I really like the 17-28 for many things, but sometimes I want that extra reach, which the 40mm makes it perfect for me. Thank you!
