Taking pictures the old-fashioned way, really on film, preferably in black and white, has almost been forgotten in times of quickly snapped cell phone photos. Just like the slightly sinking feeling in the stomach, whether the pictures have really turned out well.
Charlie Engel has been developing films and photos by hand in his photo lab in Mainz for over 40 years. How an exposed negative becomes a picture is still a magical moment for him today.
