very disappointing month on the channel, I look forward to November. Laurinaitis improved in the role, some people really hated it but I didn't. He was perfect for the GM heel character because he basically lived it. What did you think of John Laurinaitis?

I won't lie. This time period of WWE killed me as a kid. Between Laurinaitus, heel Michael Cole, big names like Edge, HBK, Batista, Jeff Hardy and more leaving within a few years, I slowly stopped watching regularly. I got back into when the Yes Movement and NXT started up again in 2013. The only time I've really stopped keeping up since was during the early pandemic days before the Thunderdome.

U didn’t miss much the “People Power” era was one of many dark times of WWE television lol.
I remember this period so much and it gives me PTSD😂🤣. I was a kid seeing this live and I HATED it😂. Laurinaitis and his damn “People Power” gimmick was the worst and annoyed me everytime, and I always wanted Cena and the other babyfaces to shut him up. Such good times these were, and I gotta give Laurinaitis props for committing to the role.😅👍.
Right he pissed me off every time he was on screen and didn't even need to try draw heat as he was already a heat magnet by just cutting those slow and oblivious promos

Honestly as far as heel authority figures go this wasn’t all that bad, it did its job and John got his comeuppance on numerous occasions. It’s not like Steph who just bullied and berated the roster every night but never got beat up for it.
Johnny Ace was definitely an great heel during that time with his obsession with Cena, Punk and Teddy.
It was just great seeing punk and cena imitate his voice
i was at the colliseum after no way out. this man was S tier on television.
Was really funny about this storyline was that a few months later, Vickie Guerrero became the Raw GM (For the 100th time) and I actually said "Can we bring back People Power and call it a day"
Johnny Ace was super annoying. But I enjoyed his heel work with Punk, Cena and Teddy Long #PeoplePower

John Lourinitis to me was one of the golden things wwe ever did the whole reign of punk before turnning heel was including the feud between them and in my opinion i don't understand why they did john cena and johnny ace match instead of punk i mean but okay he was really annoying entertraining❤
Only thing I find odd to this day is for about a year it was Punk who was the thorn in Johnny Aces side but it ended up being Cena who ended his run as GM? That’s like Austin having a year long feud with Vince to have Rock have the match to end Vince run as CEO

Bro I was like ten years old or something when this was going down, and Big Show was my favorite wrestler. After I saw the recap of him getting fired by John (under the impression he was legitimately fired), I opened up parents computer and started drafting out an email threatening to remove my WWE stock if they didn’t bring him back. Good times 😂

John Laurinitis as GM is one of many things why I turned off watching WWE. SmackDown was awful in 2012. I’m glad Scumbag Laurinitis is gone last year after being involved in the Vince McMahon hush money scandal.

I would of liked it more had he fueded more of the other babyfaces like Randy Orton was available and he did not that much in SD 2012 Sheamus but he was too preocupied with Del Rio for months heck why not Zack Ryder dude got betrayed by his gf at Mania why did he not seek out revenge on the guy that made his gf turn on him.
I remember this period so vividly well and man i didnt like Johnny Ace at all😂. The guy screwed over every babyface on the roster(especially Punk) and knew how to draw heat without even trying and while i dont like him as a person he did his job pretty well as a heel authority figure but its kinda a slap in the face that he main evented a ppv over Punk when he was Champion

I’m not really a fan of the GM thing of Johnny Ace. It’s not bad it was decent at first with the Teddy Long thing but it’s when they booked John Cena into it when the thing started to get bad. 3 Of Cena’s worse ever matches were during this time. Those matches with Cole, Show and Ace were horrendous. Cena tried to make them entertaining but WWE’s bad booking ruined that. Would’ve been better if CM Punk was involved instead of Cena. Of Course the real bad blood between Punk and The McMahon family was heating up. Given the hush money thing with Vince and Ace last year, I think WWE is trying to forget all about this run.
