Visited the Vatican in June 2022. Magnificent view from the inside top of the dome. As a history professor, every visit to the Vatican has been a mental and fantastic mental experience. From the floor it is a BIG building but when up in the dome it is an AWESOME experience. The people down below look like they are part of an ant colony. The view of Rome from the very top of the dome will stay with me forever.

I was there last year with my wife. Magical place!❤ every night around 9pm we sat down under obelisk in st peter's square and look at basilica for hours… such a peaceful feeling ❤️

I suppose they had no choice but to protect it considering what happened. It was surrounded by older women all dressed in black clutching their rosary beads & crying.

With all the due respect, I cannot understand how this wealthy reality of Vatican may have something to do with the simplicity of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus was not born in a palace, but in the poorest situation of all, in a stable, circled by fields shepherds and animals. During his life, he refused to accept the riches of this world. This church of Rome seems to be so far away from the Master. This church belongs to this world, not to the Kingdom of G-d.
Hi Pierre; rooted in History. Pontius Pilate, Prefect of the Roman Empire in Judea specifically sentenced Jesus to His death. Christianity spread over the world and after the intense persecutions of the years 300-400; it triumphed and built its headquarters in the heart of Italy, Rome, Vatican City. Therefore, it represents the establishment of this turn over. Christians communities live in great simplicity such as the Trappists, the Franciscans and other orders. Many lay people follow this path as a regular path. The palace of Vatican would be a joyful representation of how it evolved. As people in the Jewish faith admire the temple of Solomon.
