i’m in eighth grade and i’ve made a promise to myself that i’m going to get into my dream school (nyu) and hopefully through the theatre program. i hope one day i can be like you and be a student there!!
I just got news that I'm actually going to be living in this dorm starting this fall. Would you mind listing ur honest pros and cons for Goddard Hall? Things that would be essential to know or can be stuff that you noticed from ur personal experiences. Video was very useful :) Thanks!
NYU is unfortunately really expensive ☹️ but they do consider all applicants for merit + need based scholarships automatically so there’s no additional application needed. A good way to find additional external scholarships is through Google, I also use an app called Scholly which is pretty helpful. During the school year I work two jobs as well, which helps out a lot ☺️ Feel free to dm me on IG @gingerrss if you want more detailed answers or have more questions!
Hi! I’m starting NYU in the fall and I was wondering how you moved your stuff there? Did you take it all on a plane or did you ship it? I’m from Texas and the only way I can really get there is by flying. Thank you so much!!
I’m actually from California so I completely understand the moving struggle! what I did was I packed all my essentials from home (mainly clothes, electronics, shoes, and some toiletries) into two suitcases, one large checked bag and one carry on. then, I packed blankets and other little decorative/general things I wanted from home but didn’t need right away (like my grad cap, my mugs, extra school supplies/towels, leisure books, etc) into two boxes which my parents shipped to me after I had already moved in! I also bought a good amount of stuff at bed bath and beyond and target once I actually got to nyc, like cleaning supplies, organizational stuff, and the majority of my toiletries. generally, if you can easily replace something from home by re-purchasing it in new york, I wouldn’t recommend shipping it to save the hassle! hopefully that helped a little bit!
hi! NYU automatically considers all students for financial aid and scholarships when you submit your application for admission, so you don't need to do any additional application. however, you still might want to check NYU's website for specifics on the type of support and aid they provide to international students. super super excited to hear that NYU is your dream school!!
hey you never know!!! don’t count yourself out before you try 😉💓 you have four years ahead of you to prep so don’t stress, you got it! happy to hear that this is your dream school 🥰
I loved my time in Goddard! It's the smallest dorm and part of the residential college community, which means we get SUPER involved and friendly RAs (I loved mine), and get to experience a lot more free activities than ppl in the other dorms do (I got to see Ta-nehisi Coates speak at the King's Theatre + a copy of his book for free!). That being said, Goddard has the least in-dorm amenities out of all the freshman dorms, but I think the free experiences + tight community make up for it. I also worked as a media consultant for NYU and as a communications intern at a nonprofit!
Im 13 and I rly wanna go to NYU, but it’s so expensive and the acceptance rate is low :/ But I get rly good grades and I think if I keep going and do extra curriculars i’ll hopefully be able to get scholarships. And i’m rly interested in business, songwriting, and journalism and NYU is in the like top 10 in the country for that
nope! i grew up in california. adjusting to nyc can definitely be intimidating and difficult, (especially being so far from friends and family) but i found myself in love with the city pretty quickly. nyc is not for everyone, but it is for me! i'd recommend visiting (if you're ever able to) because it really helps you to see if you can visualize yourself living there :)
@@GingerToyoko I try to visit as much as I can, I've been to new york 5ish times- also are you okay? with the whole coronavirus thing in new york? that must be scary-
ah that’s wonderful you’ve gotten to visit nyc so many times! i’m not in new york currently, as nyu sent all their students home due to the coronavirus, but it’s been super scary seeing everything that’s been happening in the city and state 🥺 i’ve been trying to stay as updated and informed as i can regardless! i hope you and your family are safe 💓
@@GingerToyoko Oooh I'm from California. I'm Currently a Freshman in High School, and nyu is my dream school. We did make plans too visit NYC, Disneyland, and L.A for the summer last year, but then covid rolled along and it got cancelled :(
Nicholas Chan i got it from a free event so i was saving it for breakfast but i didn’t want it chilling on my desk during the video bc that’s weird so i put it IN my desk and needless to say forgot abt it until i opened the drawer LOOOOOOL
yes, I applied for external scholarships! all nyu specific scholarships don't require an extra app, you're considered for them with your common app automatically :D
dream school:)
hope to see you here someday!!!
im a freshman at high school this is my dream college 😭

A little constructive criticism, have some background music. It'll sound better that way.
