Thank you Eric for doing this video . Well you easily found My fav guitar riff from Emppu , you responded with a a stank face and a cringe it was so filthy lol . 😅 . As always ,the best breakdown on youtube period is right here boys and girls on The Wyldeside with Eric Clark !!! If you're not a Concurpa ,please join in the fun , all my brothers and sisters here on The Wyldeside are the Best Damn Subscribers on the Planet !!!
They did this song live only a few times, so it's a rare occasion for us to see it. It's also an album you should listen to, to the studio album, because you miss out quite a bit live, small but great music moments, even if they are amazing live. This album is in my opinion one of Tuomas most beautiful album, every song is so good and also so beautiful. So, I can't wait for his new Nightwish album
Welcome back Eric. No other band has so many good songs in their arsenal. Thats one of the reasons its so easy to miss a great Nightwish song like this one.
Night-Cheatcode-Wish 😂😂 Hello sir, I love Tampere's concert, they went all the way with that one, if I remember correctly either that day or that week they were celebrating their 20th anniversary, (I could be wrong tho) I just know there was a big big thing for them, another thing that stood out was Floor's parents being there 💕 they had a short interview backstage and seemed like such a lovely couple, as lovely as their daughter PS: Today I a post by Tuomas that said they we're mixing the new album's 10th song, so, it's release is getting closer and closer 💕
Unofficial 20th anniversary concert was a year later in Finland. This Tampere gig was important to them because it was a big stadium concert. Sonata Arctica and Children of Bodom were openers, so basically impossible to have a bigger metal music spectacle in Finland than that.
Maybe you were confused because the line Endless Forms Most Beautiful is mentioned in the lyrics of The Greatest Show on Earth as well as in the Darwin quote Richard Dawkins cites at the end of that song.
Always nice to hear you praising Emppu. I wish someone suggests Lappi from their first album. There's yet another side of Emppu's playing that you haven't heard yet. 😊
There is line in this song that made me chuckle. It says “greet a blade of grass”. The reason that is funny to me is that I actually did that in the most literal sense. It was when I first came to the US and more specifically to Kissimmee, Florida. We had rented a villa there fle the holidays and the first thing that caught my eye when I got out of the car was that the blades of grass was so thick and strong. It looks nothing like that here in Sweden so I had to touch the grass just to know how it felt. Nature really is awesome!
Awesome and entertaining reaction once again Eric! A dear friend of mine once said Emppu is like the glue of Nightwish which I really feel is true. He is much more than just a great guitarist. I always try to stand near him at the concerts because he is so entertaining to watch and always interacting with crowd.
I love Emppu, he is a consumate performer. Excellent guitar player and such an entertainer. He never stops. Nightwish composition style gives him periods of 'down time' in a lot of their songs and he always seems to use this time to have fun with his felow performers and the audience. Then goes straight from goofing around to smashing his guitar parts, right on time. Awesome guy.
Good exellent analysis again Sir Eric”Erkki”. Emppu goes out rarely in his shield although he is a super guitarist… Enppu is original member (since 1996)and he can play everyrhing with guitar…
So, The Show opener in Tampere !!!! "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" (title track of the eighth studio album of Nightwish 2015) is based on a lyrical concept or a theme. It's all about the beauty of life, the beauty of existence, nature, science… A comparison would be that if the previous album, (2011's) "Imaginaerum", was a tribute to the power of imagination, "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" would be an equal tribute to science and the power of reason. Criminally Underrated song !!!! Floor's colorful vocals, Emppu's heavy riff section and Tuomas on Piano...well, I love absolutely everything about this song !!!!! Nightwish IS Endless Forms Most Beautiful!!! Excellent Reaction my good sir !!!! NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘
This is my favorite NW "performance", everything was perfect, especially the camera work. I told you about this performance a couple of years ago, SO glad you finally got around to it!!!
Dave, carry on..........dozens of NW song are on the shelf waiting for you (and us of course). A happy and prosperous 2024 and best regards from The Netherlands.
Hello Eric. What you say about the Industrie, i mean the US. In Europe, Nightwish is in are in her place amazing. Human. :!!: Nature (her last Album), was Nr one in Finland and Germany. Nr two in many european Countrys. Greetings from nothern Germany
A super talented bunch of real music lovers...is that what you mean??? Seeing Tuomas singing along is always so warm to see! Yeahhh...Mr. Erno Matti Juhani Vuorinen...oh yeah! All the best with yer upcoming chest cold, Sir! I mean...get well within a few days Richard, NL.
Damn, I love your analyses😍Eric Clark how come I can't find Nightwish Ever Dream in your playlist⁉You have to see it⚠ I suggest Ever Dream live in Wacken 2013, live in Vancouver or live at Download Festival 2016🤟 Don't thank me😁hehe😉🤗 Regards👊🍻
Tuomas is the sole songwriter in this one. You can hear Tuomas play that riff with orchestral sounds first. Then Emppu and Marko play that same riff with nasty guitar sounds. Then finally Tuomas plays it with piano sound. Edit: Im guessing you meant that stank face bridge part but the whole song has cool ass riffs.
It might just be my nerdiness and sci-fi mind, but a word that frequently comes to mind in regard to Floor's vocals is "laser". That is, there's a certain pleasantly piercing, pure and concentrated quality to the way they just cut through, like the audio equivalent of coherent, focused light. I don't really have a vocabulary for vocal qualities so that's the best way I can think of to put it.
Hello again, Eric. This is such an amazing song and performance by every member of the band. One of my very favorite songs. Such a violently beautiful ballet of wall after wall of sound. This was tremendous. I was waiting for you to get around to Empuu Vourinen's amazing guitar work on this masterpiece. Have to say it again. I concur.
One of my all-time favorite Nightwish performances. And that's saying something, given the portfolio of outstanding live performances Nightwish has created during the Floor Jansen era. BTW, I own 5 different Nightwish live performance DVDs. Including VEHICLE OF SPIRIT released by Nightwish under the Nuclear Blast label in 2017. This pkg includes both the Tampere and Wembley concerts on DVD, plus audio CDs, plus extras. All of that for around $25! How can any music lover not have this? Thanks for the reaction. Enjoyed listening to your comments. And yes, Emppu is a different level for a guitar player. In Tuomas' band, one must understand the genius of the music being created. And sometimes that means no one gets to showcase their individual talent, until the song is over. At that point the listener is left dazed and confused. Who was killing it on that track? Damn, I think they all were. I just couldn't separate the individual pieces, and now it's over. WOW.
As always, excellent analysis. This song gave me the answer to a final Jeopardy clue...thanks to Metal Mozart's textbook lyrics! Love this band, can't wait to see what the new album is all about.
Hey Eric, I just got educated on the telecommunications act of 1996 and how it destroyed rock music.. now I know what you went through. Nightwish sails above that terrible story with such grace and creativeness.
They did a video for this one, the title track of Floor's first album with the band. She's present for the music break in the video, dancing. Tuomas is playing a simple square back piano. The way Floor looms over him during certain moments is the greatest motivation you could have to learn piano.
Brilliant as usual. I feel like I'm getting a deep education, understanding, and even more appreciation for Nightwish after your always super tangible analysis. Thank you so much for this. I wish the Nightwish band members would watch your content. They'd love it so much. I also hope you can get to see them in concert one day. Cheers. 🍺
i get what you mean by floor's colours, whatever they are, they are primary, not mudded with others, unless she chooses to make them so when the melody requires it
its very cool to see some of the music and pictures sitting kinda behind couldn't help but notice there are two cool group photo and a group shot along with kamelot and bad company nice thats interesting
Autographed Slipknot, Autographed Seether, Autographed Nightwish. The CDs are autographed A Perfect Circle, Queen, Jane's Addiction, and Bad Co. I try to sway them out every now and again for a little Easter egg. Cheers, Eric
There was speculation that Nightwish would compete in the Finnish contest for Eurovision, but it turned out the rock band was Cyan Kicks. They just released the song. Would be great to see your reaction! Cyan Kicks - Dancing With Demons (music video) // UMK24
it is one of the view songs where I prefer the official lyric video. Very well worth to check it out. Floor commented below the video: "Recording this video was an absolute blast" and one can feel and see it in every seconds. Kerp rocking. ruclips.net/video/VUb1p8fm7Ag/видео.html
Well I'm going to comment right now as you just start your analysis because you hit on what I think about this song right at the start. That of the style balance. This was Floor's fist Nightwish album but in this track you can still feel the influence that the Annette era had that in some ways produced some of the most accessible tracks they had.
I think you thought you'd already done this because you probably confused "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" and "Shudder Before the Beautiful" - and that they are both on the album "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" :D And the quote is in The Greatest Show on Earth. The cross-references in lyrics can get you mixed up, too, I mix up My Walden and Alpenglow sometimes because Alpenglow also has "Walden" in the lyrics. :P It is a cohesive album :D
I’ve said it before this might be the most underrated song, but in my opinion, one of the best songs for the tension and release as you call it I absolutely love the middle of the song it gets me every time what is the places they played this live was in Sayreville NJ and no Jon Bon Jovi was not on stage with them lol
Like like like like(!) your highly professional and intelligent comments on the genius work of Tuomas, the whole band Nightwish. This is so awesome, the understanding of what we love so much as the Nightwish Army, learning us the reasons why. I can't find the right words. But you did, so clear. Thank you! ❤
As always...a fantastic review of one of my favorite songs off the Album, "Endless Forms Most Beautiful". The only difference is Toumas evidently edited Emppu's solo by 20 to Thanks again for your insight!!
Oddly enough this song has the line in it that I always f…-up when singing along and it’s one of the simplest lyrics 😂😂 somehow I always mess up Greet a blade of grass 🫣 and turn it into Bleed a grate of brass or something like that 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻
I love floor and nightwish. There is an early video with Tarja of "sacrement of wilderness", a grainy, early video if a great song that deserves your reaction....
🤩👍💥💯🎼 Some one might have seen/heard those $ signs laying on there yet they're doing pretty much every thing with their own terms of reason... 😉 Not as near just only for to make those bucks in the pocket rather than for own and for the enjoynment to music fans. 🤘😎 🇫🇮 💙
I even know it was recorded by Michael DesBarres prior to Animotion recording it. And I also know he was Robert Palmer's replacement in Power Station. Another fun fact: He was the lead singer of the band Scum of the Earth who fought the air staff from WKRP in Cincinnati. He was also in an episode of Miami Vice. I will always argue that Animotion's version is one of the best "80's" tracks ever recorded. It's perfect Synthwave. Cheers, Eric

Can't get enough of Nightwish. Emppu's guitar sounds so wicked!! Pure sound for the ear!!
by the way, Floor told that Tuomas come to her home to do the new songs - and Emppu came as well....very nice to show Floor his appreciation (IMO).
Welcome back Eric. No other band has so many good songs in their arsenal. Thats one of the reasons its so easy to miss a great Nightwish song like this one.
Night-Cheatcode-Wish 😂😂

Yeah..........Emppu. His tone is staggering! Can't wait for the new album to drop!!
I wonder why I never heard of Nightwish until about this time last year. That's obscene. I love that band!
You got here - and that’s really all that matters.

Hi you all, i concur as well! 🤘🔥🇳🇱🤘
My 4 year old granddaughter's favorite Floor outfit. 2nd best Nightwish concert for me after Wacken 2013.
You are right on Target,, "I CONCUR"; The "High Talent" of Nightwish brings the Music and Makes it Look Easy. Emmpu is Master of the Colors.
There is line in this song that made me chuckle. It says “greet a blade of grass”. The reason that is funny to me is that I actually did that in the most literal sense. It's all about the Evolution: "Endless Worms Most Beautiful". 😜👍
Thank you!!
Maybe you thought you had done this because you mixed it up with Shudder Before the Beautiful?🤔
I always do that😅
When I saw your smile towards the end there, I knew exactly what you were thinking. "It's just not fair!" I agree with you 100%.
I know by now that when you smile and shake your head in that way it’s got to be good? Anything by this band is amazing 🏴
So, The Show opener in Tampere !!!!
"Endless Forms Most Beautiful" (title track of the eighth studio album of Nightwish 2015) is based on a lyrical concept or a theme.

What a sick riff Emppu and Marko came up with.
