Sure it's a bit different from the Engine tuning itself but it's still the same engine and also the Tenere has the same in it just a bit different tuned.

    I ride an R7 and love it. For me it's perfect since I live in the Netherlands where Highway speeds are capped at 100km/h until 19:00 after which it gets turned back to European standard highway speeds (130km/h). And I mostly use it for a daily work commute, so the low RPM torque is perfect.
    It's a little light bike with plenty power for cities and overtaking on our highways.
    Am about to buy a BMW F850GS for weekend touring and enjoying some cross country trips though. Did that on my R7 with a backpack on and it was awful. Sitting so aggressive and with a backpack on is just killer.

    R7 is a good bike for the city, something modern and bigger than the R3 but it's not a true successor to the R6.
    They made it coz of the stricter regulations in Europe. The R6 is just a dying breed of bike, it's more for purists or if you want to take it on a track.
    Most newer riders prefer either a 2 cylinder or a literbike, it's just not making enough sales anymore that's why they stopped producing it.

    I think due to emission restrictions etc, doing an exhaust on a R7 or MT/FZ07 and maybe even a different air filter but definitely a flash/re-tune it, makes it feel so much better.
    MT's are being knows for having torque but never rode one yet so can't judge, no also not sure if it's the exact same specs the R7 has. But I still doubt if it will be as quick and feel as good as your R6 seems to do. Definitely cool bikes though, and also fun you were having a meet up to ride each others bikes and found another rider to go out for a ride with.

    • @mikedavis581
      @mikedavis581 11 месяцев назад +2

      You got the right idea, I ride a 2018 mt-07, I put on a full system exhaust, dna filter, and used the FTEcu kit to tune it myself (visited a local dyno to confirm air/fuel ratio was in optimal range), there is no more taper in power at high revs, throttle response is smoother, and overall more enjoyable to ride, felt like a whole new bike.
      Mind you this is dependent on rider experience and familiarity with bike, but With the experience I have riding it for 4 years now, I can keep up with much faster bikes off the line and keep up with them through technical rides (as long as it’s below the top speed of mine).

    • @KeViNMCMXXCIX
      @KeViNMCMXXCIX 11 месяцев назад +2

      Oh nice! Good stuff man! Makes total sense. Also courageous to do it yourself. 😂 I can imagine learning it seems hella fun. But solid you went in and made sure the air/fuel ratio was point. I think with the 4 years you have riding on it, definitely makes a difference. With knowing your bike you van be quicker then other bikes who should have an advantage over yours spec wise.
      Specs don't say everything if you can't control it.
      A rider can make a lot of difference in this. The same with cars and circuit racing etc.

      CBR650R owner here, what made me buy this bike was 2 things, sound and smoothness. Also this bike is the only bellow 1000c that can have two personalities without riding modes BS. Down in the rpms it has the "chill, quiet, smooth personality" for daily drive, rainy days and chill road trips, aswell as the "beast mode, rocket boosted engine" feel when you want to absolutely send it on the highway, at high rpms. The only bike that can do it all. And the way it screams while in this "beast mode" is just incredible. Also feels like the rpms on this bike never end. It just goes and goes. I find it so interesting that this bike can be so quiet and "chill" while having this ultra serious look that makes you know that "if you want, you can just go". It's like a well trained German Shepherd that is chill and quiet but can destroy on command. Love 4 cylinders. I hope Honda never stops making them.

      People come to your channel literally for reviews and your opinion, I have a stock r7 and furthermore all of my bikes stay stock as I am constantly changing models / upgrading. As a congested city rider I believe the r7 has as much to offer than the r6 and I say that with my hand on hart. The bike isn’t for you and I get that but I’m 100% sure the R7 suits a range of riders out there, put some respect on its name lol….
      I love your channel and have plenty of respect for the constant knowledge you bring to the biking community but I just knew you would trash talk the r7.

      @@michaelblenmanin that being said. The r7 suits for more of a city rider. Shouldn’t have Yamaha put this bike in a different class? Naming it a R7 is just a marketing scheme. I feel like it ruined the Yzf-R reputation.

    Yeah the R7 is not a comparable bike to the R6. Completely different power output. I do however think it is a good bike. It is more comparable to the CBR650R, Ninja 650 or the new GSX8R although those bikes are more upright. R7 sure looks good though. Personally for my money I think I would get the RS660 if I were shopping for that style of bike.

    The big problem I have with people comparing the R6 and the R7, is that they keep propagating this idea (sometimes not intentionally) that the R7 was meant to replace the R6 and take it's place which a lot of people still think to this day. The R7 was never meant to replace the R6, firstly, it was to take part in the Twin cup (which explains the I-2 engine), secondly, the era of supersports/hypersports bikes is clearly nearing it's end. With the amount of regulations and restrictions all across the globe, making sportbikes that are more akin to naked bikes with farings makes a lot more sense as a manufacturer (it's also cheaper to own). Also, the R7 takes a nice space in the Yamaha line-up, cause if you wanted to have a nice linear climb up the Yamaha bikes, you started with the R3 let's say (or the R125) as a beginner, then, what comes next? the R6. Which is quite a big jump from a small R3. Now you have the R7 for that which is a nice beginner/intermediate bike. Of course they removed the R6 from the production line, but I guess that is where the R9 will come in for in the near future. People gotta stop thinking that just because 7 > 6, that it is supposed to be more powerful. It is not and it was never meant to be. Actual good comparator to the R7 would be the likes of RS660, Ninja 650, SV650, and so on. Also, to address one major complaint about the bike through the video, you are taking a STOCK 2024 R7. Ofc the sound is going to be shitty, we have the regulations to thank for that. With a good after market pipe, the R7 sounds super dope (I recommend Yoshimura personally). Ok enough yapping for one day, there is more to say about this bike, but whatever. I do believe though that it is a deadly underrated bike just for the fact that people don't understand the right purpose it serves. Definitely has flaws, but not as much as some might put it.
    PS: this message is in no way targeting Adobo personally, I just needed to write something after seeing too many comments on so many of these reviews. Love the videos 👍👍

    “It doesn’t have the torque that the r6 does “ I actually think it has 1ft lb more and it’ reaches peak earlier about 6000. It just doesn’t have the top end that the 600 inline 4s have but it’s ironic to call the r7 “gutless” when that’s exactly how a 600 feels under 8k rpm
