LG Velvet 5G Charging Port and Glass Repair

Just a car guy trying to do smart phone things, no big deal lol Today we're replacing the charging port on this LG Velvet 5g (ATT version) and also replacing the back glass. If you have any questions please hit me up in the comment section.

For perspective on how helpful this video could help you.. 6 months ago I was up for a phone upgrade through Verizon and I chose the Google Pixel 7 Plus (don't get it). I had the option to trade in my old phone, the LG Velvet. The Pixel monthly cost was 28ish\mo, and they quoted me with the trade in, that my final monthly charge for my new phone would be $4. I was stoked. I also broke the screen on that LG phone that day rendering the trade in cancelled. The charging port hadn't worked for a year, tho. I didn't even think to replace the glass, but I sure as shit wish I had.
I miss LG. Their V series were awesome.

ATT didn't really incentivize the trade in when I upgraded to the new galaxy phone so I gave this LG Velvet to my daughter. I download her netflix shows she likes and keep it on airplane mode and the batters lasts for a week at a time.

I work on cars and go offroading and I was able to figure it out, just take your time it's not too bad of a job

Tell me, please, how the charging port was damaged? After the fall? Was it completely dead?

You had to hold the cord in certain positions for it to charge. And it would never fast charge, only slow charge. Not sure if it was from dropping it or debris being jammed in it.
