    Hi again. I met another defuse i cant solve....
    After main line: 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Nf6 4. d4 exd4 5. O-O
    Bc5 6. e5 Ng4
    If I go 7. Bf4 black can respond with d5, kicking the bishop. What to do now?
    1) If I go 8. exd6 black can recapture with either bishop or pawn. If he chooses bishop, i must trade bishops or move my black bishop. If i trade, on 9. bxd6, he can recapture with qxd6 and on 10. h3 he has space for knight on e5... :((
    2) If I go 8. Bb3 black goes f6, but now your beautiful response with 9. Re1 doesnt work, because the pawn on d5 is blocking our bishop preventing the castling, which he will do and solve the problem. x(
    So... what to do after 7. Bf4 d5 ?

    7:08 Kf8 looks pathetic is the best move in the position Gunjan, can you explain whats the drawback, bcoz after ...Re1+, Kf8, fxg7, Kxg7; Qe2, Qd5; Bf4, Bg4, its black who has the advantage of about -0.5 which is very fine given the position and its white who has to play very accurately to save the game infact...its quite a dangerous line boss... pls advice..

  • @smashu2

    At 9:48 white should not continue 10.Ne4 because of 10...Qe5 even if white can still get a clear edge with 11.f4 or 11.fxg7. Instead 10.fxg7 Rg8 11.Nxe6 fxe6 12.Qh5+ Kd7 13.Nd2 lead to winning attack.

    also black's anti-fried liver defense with h6 could stop the max lange, because it prevents white's knight to move to g5

    • @IgorYagolnitser
      @IgorYagolnitser Год назад

      as I said above, that's not real chess: Black can't afford to make passive pawn moves like h6 when they are behind in development. White can just go d4 or castle and have Black is much worse.

    Gunjan, thanks. Please take one critique: You show all the failed moves of black but do not consider good moves against which white has no threat. for example at your video at spot 7:20 considering 9th move of black you consider 5 moves of black but not the best move of black and then say only one move that is right that is qd5. The truth is that while qd5 is fine, at least there is one move that is stronger than qd5 - that if 9..g6 ( of course not gxf6, not qxf6, not castling, not qd6 -those all lose a piece). against g6 there is no more threats of white and game is draw. Since g6 leads to a dead draw the max lange attack is nowhere close to as deadly as this video makes it sound - at the 9th move black can diffuse all threats - realized that painfully after watching this video and following this...

    at 10:30 how can be a transposition?!?!? Qe5 it's seems preety good to me!

    • @BLaZiNgSPEED89
      @BLaZiNgSPEED89 3 года назад

      That will not work either. Because then you can move Pawn F4 and after that if Queen moves to F5 then it will follow with Pawn G4 and if Queen captures the Pawn on G4, exchanging Queens will result in Knight capturing the Bishop on C5. And if Queen returns back to D5 then Pawn captures G7 and after that when the Rook moves then Knight F6 will fork the Queen and Rook.

      9,,,g6 looks like it gives a tiny advantage for black to me. It prevents ..f6xg7 and Qh5+ after Nxe6 fxe6. After 9...g6 white has to find a way to avoid black trading pieces and getting an endgame with an extra pawn. In Miralles-Fontaine 2004 white played 10.Qf3. Objectively, ...0-0 was probably best for but black was afraid to castle and played ...Qd3. Then after 11.Bf4 Qd7 12. Rxe6+ fxe6 13.f7+ Kf8 14.Ne4 white had the advantage.

    • @anthonygross1963
      @anthonygross1963 8 лет назад

      +Sunan Peebles agreed. 9...g6 or ...bf8 are better moves. Chessgames.com shows black winning most games with those two options.

    Every 1000 patzer I play against online must have watched these videos because they are always coming at me with these attacks, they manage to bully me for 8 moves or so and then just blunder everything.

    • @woudwilder8324
      @woudwilder8324 5 лет назад

      That is probably because they just replicate without understanding why these moves are made and never analyse their own games to see where it went wrong or what they could do better. There is a lot of strategy and good chess ideas in these moves and if you understand why they are powerful, that knowledge will help you further up the way.
      But sometimes there is another explanation. Sometimes you let your guard down, feeling secure because you are in a dominant position and one wrong move can depending on your style of play have huge consequences. For example. I will gladly sacrifice a bishop and horse for 2 pawns and a minor piece of you or one of my minor pieces for two pawns if in doing so, your flank is destroyed and my pieces are developed and ready to finish off the attack. But one small mistake, taking for example equipment with the wrong piece, could seriously complicate things or losing an important piece for free because you are not concentrated enough or for some reason in need of time and you play a hasty move.

    Your videos are good and very usefull. But you have to give more atention to the best moves from both sides: not only how to win after a mistake.
    For example: you said, after 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nf6 4.d4 that Nxe4 is bad, because after 5.dxe5 Bc5?? white have a piece. Okey. But black is not force:
    5...Nc5 6.Qd5 Ne6 and next 7....d6 and black are equal. This is know as the "positional refutation" of the Max Lange atack and is one of the best options for black.
    I realy enjoy this series in particular: i´m trying a repertory based in Bc4 and d4 gambit: with very good result. Thanks.

    Absolutely amazing! I just switched from the Two Knights Defence (Bogoljubow Variation) to the Max Lange Attack and it's really fascinating how many traps are hidden in this attack! I really like your videos and already subscribed them. Can you please show how to reach the Max Lange Attack from other openings? Like the Petroff or the anything else?

    haha. I actually used this in a game and won in 8 moves as he made that blunder move bc5 and was mated a couple of moves later. Just like GJ says. The game finished so fast that we had barely sat down and everyone was in shock at that. I apologized to the guy as it's a good group to play against, but I did not tell them my secret. LOL

    At time 9.49 instead of Ne4 Txe6 is much stronger! After fxe6 comes fxg7 Tg8 Qh5+ and black is lost.
