    Scarifier is just a deeper thatching, so you are basically doing a deep thatching. On my Bermuda grass I have to scarify because the de thatching tines will mess up my grass

      A true verticutting cartridge has many more blades and just slice the top of the turf.
      These chunkier bladed cartridges are designed to scar the soil and drag out the thatch. They do a decent job of chopping the rhizomes but not a true verticut.
      Love the channel 🤙🏽

    I believe verticutting is when you actually cut into the soil, ie: when your blades are lower than your wheels. But a lot of thatch came out and probably a good thing. Man, you need a door in the fence to your backyard from your side yard, you'd use it far more than you think.

Looked like friggin house insulation it was so thick. Used the SunJoe blade attachment to help dig it out. It rips down deep to get thatch out. Awesome job Brah!

    😂😂😂😂 Just like you, I have a corner house and is pretty much the route dog owners pass by and my Arlo camera catches dogs either going 1 or 2 and the owners sometimes don't do anything! I couldn't help but die laughing at your reaction as I felt the same way. At one point I was so pissed sprinkled a bag of cayenne pepper powder on my grass, but that can't be a long term solution as I have to water my lawn. I planned on getting a sign as well, but we know, people can't read. I heard about a motion detection water spray, but that would mean having a dedicated water hose to the corner location may not be feasible. Please share what you or anyone in the community can come up with that is more humane. But it's true, we put so much time and work to enjoy our creation and it get's shit on! Appreciate the content brah!🤙

    I def had some poa show up this spring. A little bit of poa annua that I keep rippin out, but some pretty big patches of poa triv in the shade. I did do one app of prodiamine in the late fall last year, but I'll probably do a split app this fall+winter. Using the sun joe blades definitely damaged the triv when I did a spring overseed, cuz it turned all brown and looked f'ed up, but I know it'll be back. Triv is the worst. Doesn't look bad now though.

    • @YardBrah
      @YardBrah  2 года назад +1

      oh nice! yeah I was going to try prodiamine but I have the ethofumesate now so I will be trying that with 2 apps in the fall hopefully no poa.. plus a better cultivar with a reno should help my situation! Let me know how the split app works hopefully triv goes away! 😊🙏🏾🤙🏾

    • @benharrison5816
      @benharrison5816 2 года назад

      @@YardBrah yea the prodiamine is a pre-emergent, so theoretically it should help with poa annua as it "should" die off in the heat of summer and then u prevent the new seeds in the fall+winter, but annua can survive summer in the pnw sometimes, and triv just goes dormant, so that's why I try to rip out the annua when I see the seed heads. Triv is harder tho.

    Okay this is my second comment and may be a little long, sorry in advance. I got to where you mentioned about the dogs.. I’m a lawn care tech. I handle fertilizer, weed control, spray for bugs and mosquitos etc.. Bro the amount of adults who disrespect other peoples property by letting their dog use it as a bathroom is insane. Iv gone back and fourth with people passing by as I’m in the middle of an application and I tell them to take the dog off the grass. They think they are entitled to let their dog go anywhere where there is grass like cmon are you that dumb and ignorant.. to them it’s just grass but to the home owner they are spending a lot of money to make it look good, with these people it just doesn’t register. Like if you are local and own a dog let it go on your property then take it out for a walk. It’s like how many flags do I need to put for them to be like oh maybe I shouldn’t let my dog walk here. One it being someone’s property that you shouldn’t be on, two there’s things in the grass that should not be coming into contact with your dogs paws. The dogs don’t know any better and I don’t blame the pet but them as the owner should know better! It’s so frustrating and it’s not even my property. I get pissed cus I’m here working hard to make the customer happy and then your dog leaves a yellow spot that the customer might mistake as a burn, which has happened numerous times. The best part is the dog owners get annoyed like cmon dude it’s really not that hard. You see a nice lawn keep the dogs off it. Not to mention flags at every corner of grass saying treated areas no people or pets. Some people should not have animals. I just ran my blood pressure up thinking about them. Ima go order some lawn products to relive my stress lmao

      @@YardBrah nah bro it happens everywhere all the time. Trust me it’s not just you. Maybe get signs that say specifically to be respectful and keep dogs off the grass. No guarantee that works but maybe give it a try. Also another solution (idk if this is ethical or allowed near the sidewalk but you are at the end of a dead end sooooo lol) they have motion sensor sprinklers so when you pass the sensor it’s sprays water. It’s to ward off things like cats and squirrels from an area you don’t want them but maybe it’s worth looking into to keep people away, specifically people walking dogs

      Well normally on a nicely maintained lawn it's dethatched once a year and most home owners don't go out into the yard as much as we do. Thatch and debris build up pretty fast so you'll be supersized if you dethatched again after a month how much more stuff comes out.
      To answer your question I do it everytime I overseed.... this season I am high verticutting once a month just to see what happens then come overseed time dethatch as well 😊🤙🏾
