I know what to expect from a bear. With some men, it's hard to know what to expect. I feel like ONLY because I've survived the woods and life with men, I'll choose that, but I do understand why many would feel differently. A bear won't rape me. Both could kill me. A bear feeling threatened is more predictable than some men.

At least i can leave food 500 yards away and be safe. I can tie up or offer a setting of food and know its gonna destroy the cooler i left it in.
A man in the woods? Its either someone with their son or a man willing to do everything evil to you cause theres no one here but you two. Whos gonna save you? The bear? I think a few of seen that Revenant movie. Really puts into perspective on what could go wrong eith a bear. But STILL even with that movie, WHO WAS THE BAD GUYS??? THE BEAR? Nah the momma bear was protecting her cubs out of fear.
At least in the woofs you can take the time to set up safety for yourself and an area for food. Thw bear will always go to food. Unless you messed with it. Like setting up camp where the cubs have been sleeping for two hours in the tree above you. And now mom returned from the creek😅

I have lived in an area with bears in the woods, and was taught to make noise when walking to let the bear know I am there. They want to avoid us as much as we want to avoid them. Last time I saw someone out in the woods, I crouched low and stayed quiet. People are crazy, bears are not.
The first time I saw a bear in rl, I was 11. My dad called us to the back door. We had a blackberry bush about 20ft down hill from the house where a black bear mama was enjoying berries with her 2 cubs. They didn't mind us watching, we didn't mind them eating the berries.
