    important to note that oversampled clippers still "downsample" everything back to the project/export sample rate.
    there is no real change in audio quality, the clipper is just more responsive to peaks it was blind to at first.
    in this case, you'd be doing this to make sure the distortion is what you intended, and not caused by a streaming service's encoder instead.

    Theres gotta be some colorization from a plugin like OTT or a multiband processor in the background thats affecting the sound of the clip. I cant recreate the standardclip sound on the spinz or zay in the same way as your videos

      depends on what you want the 808 to sound like.
      a clipper immediately cuts off audio peaks that exceed a threshold, which creates distortion as a side effect.
      so, if you want your 808 distorted, and don't mind the peaks being cut off, then yes. if either of those are a problem, compressors and saturators exist.
