Love me some Kid Rock. As a 70s flower child/baby boomer I've always been an old rock n roller gal.. For some reason i like to understand and hear the words of a song, as well as the music. Never been too impressed with a bunch of crazy on stage screaming and flopping around like some demonic posessed entity I'm supposed to enjoy. Nah not me. Some years back i caught one of your concerts and was impressed. Although i do not like all of your music or actions, for the most part i like. Mainly i like your attitude, humor and down to earth personality and brutal honestly. Listening to you talk about your childhood, growing up, family, school years, even young love, sounds a lot like mine. Maybe that's why i like you and enjoy your music. I can relate. As far back as i can remember, myself, my siblings and a bunch of cousins have sang in a band. Traveling as youngsters performing each week for different events was the norm for us. Through the years of marriages, children, divorce, moves and deaths, most of us have stayed true to our calling and each other. After 55 years we still get together a few times a year for the weekend reunion of visitation, singing and fun. After years of requests im proud to say we rented a luxury van and traveled together from our little Texas town to the music making place, Nashville Tennessee. Yep, between the major decisions, lots of laughter, a few tears, bunch of smoke breaks and plenty of gossip, our new CD is complete. We had a blast making it too. The enjoyment began immediately when we loaded up in that van. The whole experience was wonderful and started long before making a CD. Traveling some 2 days together, stopping often, eating a lot, shopping some and deciding on our songs was as important as the CD itself. From acting silly in the green room to becoming friends with our producers. Even taking our front and back cover photos, in studio and in a wildflower field was exciting for us newbies.
