Also, let's be honest, there are far worse firearms out there. The hi point is the lowest-quality firearm _that reliably goes bang when you pull the trigger_. There are guns out there that do not meet even that low standard.
As a hi point c9 owner, I must say it is definitely my ugliest gun. And definitely not as reliable as people make it seem. It's heavy as fuck. It's ugly as fuck. It fails to eject sometimes. It's just not a great gun. You can't field strip it. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're really tight on money
I have an old Haskell JS-45, which is basically the predecessor to the Hi-point. Compared to the JHP-45, the Haskell is all Zamak, has simple fixed cast-in sights, and the slide spring is much much heavier. It has lines that make the Hi-point look svelte. The use of relatively soft steel parts for the trigger/sear/striker mechanism (and the fact that they slide directly in the soft zinc) means sticking and galling makes the trigger pull wildly unpredictable, ranging from about 8lb to over 25lb (that's where my scale maxed out). It's theoretically plenty accurate, but that trigger alone makes it almost useless. I think a side-by-side comparison of the two would help Hi-Point owners appreciate that their pistols aren't the worst pistols.
My son just introduced me to the Hi-point and I have a real respect for the way this pistol handles and how it can be used...AND it's endurance. I can't believe the way you handled this Hi-point. No matter what you did to it it still shot for you even after THROWING IT a number of times! I suggest you respect this TANK of a gun that consistently fires where other pistols would have failed.

I've thrown quite a few Glocks and other guns (including my Nighthawk Falcon), no issue. I've also had a Kimber Royal 2 go skipping down I85 at 50 mph (Motorcycle accident) and it didn't break quite like this.
Evan Libby Yeah but he threw it with the slide locked back. That exposes some of the inner guts and more awkward angles for the barrel or slide to flex and bend. Yeah you can throw a glock off of a truck and run over it blah blah blah while it's locked closed as normal. But locked open is unusual and not something even manufacturers consider because people don't typically carry or keep their guns locked back for long periods of time.
I'm glad Highpoint exist because it allows people that can't afford an expensive firearm to get one I used to not have a lot of money and have a tough life. So I know what it's like I've never owned a Hi-Point don't want to because I own a Glock and a M1911 two ruger's two AR-15 and AK-47. But for people who can't at least they have something they can buy that could defend themselves which is all that matters in the end. Everybody has the right to defend themselves and their family.
twrol that is true they are really bad throw away gun but like always criminals ruin things for the good people who follow the laws and follow all the steps to do what they gotta do to defend themselves.
Fontebassfishing hi-point was my first purchase. I didn't have a lot of money, moved to a new area and wanted to just have something. shit if I can't shoot my target at least I have a chance to throw my heavy ass gun at someone and cause significant damage lol
It's pretty simple really, if you're not willing to buy somebody a better gun then why crack on them for having what they can afford?, what the hell is it to them anyway?
When I was 14, my grandfather had me shoot his Hi Point 9mm. I guess those are more susceptible to limp wristing, because it failed constantly on me, known for limp wristing at the time.
Dang...you killed it by trashing it throwing it! No fair. Ive not seen anyone destroy one by shooting it. I don't have one, don't begrudge anyone who might have one. As you said, a gun in hand is better than NO gun.
Do that same testing with a Sig Legion. It is funny that every time someone does a demo on a this firearm they have to intentionally break it to show how bad it is.
I've actually had a Hi-point C9 fail on me: the firing pin/ejector bent from an overcharged round. Hi point immediately sent me two new pins and a new spring. While I was waiting for it to arrive, I bent the old one back with pliers and the gun began to function correctly again. The real issue with the gun, other than aesthetics and fit and finish, is the trigger, which feels like a bad double action revolver. It's fairly heavy, the pull is long, and there is no way to tell when it will fire.
I noticed that the gun turned towards that idiots face when he fired it with his right hand upside down. An inexpensive gun will kill you just as dead as an expensive one if used foolishly.
I've just watched Matt on Demo Ranch try to kill one and no joy, he put a freaking round into the action bent the slide and dimpled the breech and it still worked. You guys miss the point this is the "AK" of pistols and I want one.
How many glocks can shoot +P ammo all day long. How many offer no question guarentee for life of the firearm? How many have fixed barrels that will not wear out and loose accuracy ever? Thats right, none of them.
Hey, I own 2 JHP’s and they are way more accurate than a cheap 1911 due to the fixed barrel. One of mine has been improved by a lighter seer spring and with good handloads will shoot 3 1/2” groups at 50 yards from a rest laying on a sandbag on a table. Sure it isn’t pretty but it fires every time and it shoots better than most 45 ACP pistols including Glocks.
Bro demolition ranch literally shot the c9 in the chamber after running it over and dragging it thru a swomp. 😂.. it functioned all rounds no issues ... These suckers are tuff
I found some pretty easy steps for you to achieve this 1. Walk over to your nearest trash receptacle 2. Put the firearm in the trash receptacle 3. Buy a better firearm
Got a Hi-Point as a side deal in a trade, never thought much about it until I shot it...extremely reliable, accurate and affordable to the masses, which cannot be said about the much higher priced weapons I also own. A real shame that people's opinions are so biased on looks and price points...difficult to dislike a firearm that continues to function thru so many internet torture tests...so now the torture testing involves throwing at steel plates?, can't wait to see how your own favorites fare under the same conditions. At this point I respect the Hi-point much more than I do the torture tester.
wally, no problem dude... I anxiously await the same treatment of the other much more valuable and treasured firearms within HIS collection, will be FUN to see how they hold up against the same "steel plate torture testing" conditions. Look, I get that Hi-Points are generally held in low regard by many in the firearms community...but if you don't have a lot of cash to lay out for a Sig,HK ,Kimber ect., just remember that it's the bullet that strikes the bad guy, not the brand name on the slide or frame. Poor folks are covered by the Second Amendment too.
Preston Golden lol ill trust my life with my 1911 or my ruger 45. Both under 500 dollars and very reliable. My ruger 45 i carry daily. I did my 1911 and carried that on my backpack while i was driving my tow truck. No issues. Cleaned it every other day and called it good.
I own A 380, C9, and a 45 carbine that is decked out a little. I have always read of the negative remarks from the Glock, Kimber, and HK owners but, I've never seen any of those guys put their weapons to the test or to the destructive test that are administered to Hi-Points. It's like a one way street, my son thinks that the only pistols are HK and GLOCK. I own several different types and models, Why? because that is what having firearms is all about, different types, calipers, semi-autos, or revolvers. My Hi-Points are what they have been sold to be, a good, safe, reliable, tough firearm that doesn't empty your wallet to own. Take care of it, it will take care of you. I have had one problem, mag feed, adjusted the slide of the mag as per the factory, works deadly. Doug Wright
I love my hi points. I had to make an adjustment to the magazines, and they worked flawlessly after that. There was a spot in the front of the magazine that held the round pointed down a little bit, which caused them to jam instead of chamber. After the adjustment, they worked great. The guns were great. The magazines needed a bit of an adjustment. That little bit of jiggle when you shake it is a counterweight that prevents it from going off if you drop it. I suspect a Glock would do the same thing if you threw it at the target. Hi Point would probably fix it for free, since they have the best warranty in the industry.
So what did Hi Point tell you? They're known for being completely commendable in their policy toward the life time warranty. But even Hi Point has got to draw a line at some point. It's like driving your car directly into a tree and then trying to get the car company to fix it for free.
I have a high point 9mm pistol and love it. Out of all my guns it has gotten the nickname "the brick" but it is the only gun in my entire collection that I have never gotten any sort of malfunction with. I'll take function over fashion any day.
Actually I've never had one catch on my clothes, belt or hair when drawn. That's actually an important consideration. So's being able to grab the damned thing blind in the middle of the night and KNOW you've got the gun, not your glasses. Just wish it came in .50
well if nothing else, hi points make decent carry guns. Afterall your carry gun should be a gun that you don't really care about and can actually handle abuse, but still has decent accuracy and reliability. He actually had to work to destroy his... I'm sold.
I have had one for years and give shooting lessons with it and I find it very accurate plus the weight keeps the recoil low. When people go to the range for work and shoot the S&W M &P .40 they tell me that it kicks more than my Hipoint does.
My only beef with hi points is that they only offer single stack magazines, if they could accept glock magazines, or even just made a decent double stack them selves, then this would be a pretty sweet deal.
GearSolidSnake You need at least one felony to get approved for a HP purchase. I worked at GM, near the hood. The stories I could tell..one guy came in demanding I sell him a rifle in "Glock" like the caliber. Is dat..one a Glock..? No it's a FNAR..him...yeah man..dats a Glock..umm ok if u say so. $1800 later he walks out the door with it.
Bought a used 9mm carbine hi-point that someone changed the sight on. Called the company looking to buy the original to put back on it. They sent me a new sight free of charge. Since then I have purchased the 9mm pistol the 40 and 45. No problems with any of them. I give hi-point 2 thumbs up.
My front sight post falls off when I shoot the 45 carbine. I had to get those screws so tight they dug well into the barrel metal. There was a reason the last owner got rid of it. Two small impinging screws on the bottom are not enough.
I have many fire arms , 3 are .45 cal, Ruger Israel made desert eagle and a hi-point .45 , my Ruger is a $450.00 gun, my desert eagle is an $1100.00 gun , and my hi-point was about $150.00 new, difference is , the hi-point has never Jammed in over 1000 rounds , my other two jam about once every other clip , I'll say this I also have the hi-point carbine , and if I had to go into battle from the zombies , I'd def be armed with the hi-points, you can say what ever you want about this brand of fire arm ,it works and works well , dam dependable , and ball nuts accuracy
I also have the 45 pistol and carbine. I reload and all mine get +p+. never a problem. I could have bought a more expensive gun but why? I find both to be accurate reliable and rugged. I would buy either one again.
Hi-Point was my first handgun. Yes, it was bulky, heavy, and a little awkward, but it was utterly reliable, in my experience. Great entry level gun, great inexpensive gun. Took the rear sight completely off, so I sighted it like a shotgun, and it worked really well. Thats how I learned ftont sight focus. I kept blurring ine or the other, so I eliminated the distraction. Just put the dot where you want the hole, and squeeze. No sniper quality hits, but good enough for self defense. Maybe not in the x ring, but definitely the vitals every time.
I’ve owned my Hi Point C9 9mm for three years and use it for my everyday carry. I’ve fired over 2000 rounds out of it and never had a jam or misfire, just kept it clean and oiled as every tool should be and it will preform well for you. I probably will not be stupid and throw it at an iron plate.
Hi-point should be praised for arming those who don’t have the funds for adequate self defense. They are not trying to be glock or sig, so comparing them is unfair.
Thankfully they are lifetime guaranteed... Ive sent my carbine back for a bent firing pin.. No questions asked they fixed it and sent it back withing 5 days...
All these videos are actually making me want to buy one of these. Everybody seems to hate this gun even though they seem to shoot fairly accurately. It's almost like there's a jealousy thing going on with it because of the price. I already own a bunch of guns and have sold guns in the past but we never sold the hi-point.
huh, funny you mention those, I used to own one, my dad bought it and tried to make it a good car or a "rat rod gremlin" as he put it, only ever drove it once or twice.

Fontebassfishing I would agree with you if evidence lockers weren't overflowing with them
twrol that is true they are really bad throw away gun but like always criminals ruin things for the good people who follow the laws and follow all the steps to do what they gotta do to defend themselves.
Why not buy a used glock 19 from someone who realised they arent willing or able to carry a compact?
How many Glocks can fire .45+P all day long? Do they throw in a free carbine at the same price?
Fontebassfishing hi-point was my first purchase. I didn't have a lot of money, moved to a new area and wanted to just have something. shit if I can't shoot my target at least I have a chance to throw my heavy ass gun at someone and cause significant damage lol
brand snobs are the fashion police of the gun world.
Reminds me of the guy with a brand new F-350 and $30,000 boat but living in a $10,000 single wide mobil home
It's pretty simple really, if you're not willing to buy somebody a better gun then why crack on them for having what they can afford?, what the hell is it to them anyway?
Yeah, and all civilian wannabees pretending to be weapons specialists
When I was 14, my grandfather had me shoot his Hi Point 9mm. I guess those are more susceptible to limp wristing, because it failed constantly on me, known for limp wristing at the time.
I really respect their business model and that lifetime warranty. Walter is the only other company that I can think of that comes close.
and its probably better than anything remington has come out with in the past couple of years
Mohammad Hammad not probably for sure
Hi-Point > no gun > Remington
New Remington-made Marlin 336 rifles are a lot better than when they first bought Marlin. (still not as good as the old Marlin's)
Mohammad Hammad Wait so modern 870's aren't good?
+Josh Arthurs
That's a good one, gotta remember that.
"POLICE! DROP YOUR WEAPON!"
"I CAN'T! IT'S A HI-POINT!"
Note to self: don't throw my pistols at steel plates.
Pro Tip: Purposely throwing your firearm at a hard surface greatly increases the chances of breakage.
Its the blowback design. It makes the gun less prone to limp wristing, more accurate due to a fixed barrel, and cheaper to make.
You know what. I have a Hi-Point JHP 45. AND I LIKE IT. There I said it!! It’s never jammed , always accurate, and very reliable
Dang...you killed it by trashing it throwing it! No fair. Ive not seen anyone destroy one by shooting it. I don't have one, don't begrudge anyone who might have one. As you said, a gun in hand is better than NO gun.
A gun that has run out of ammo is either 1) A blunt force weapon 2) A throwing weapon. We went with 2. ~ Steve
TFB TV our god has returned
William Keith demo ranch shot one
majik mesa I saw that video he did another one to finish it off and he had to shoot down the barrel of the hi point to break it
Watching this video was the hi-point of my day😜🤓
Heeeeeey I see what you did there
You are a terrible human being.
Jonathan Lomas remember that.🙃
Soylent stop your killing me, hahahahha
Soylent green is people, and people are everywhere.👀
Did... He just rack the slide by inertia?
+grumpybill Won't work if the recoil spring is in spec. - Patrick
+mikethemaniac1 Yup.
That's good to know, we were caught off guard by it. Hey it looked cool.
+TFB TV
Did you know you could do that, or just happily discovered it?
That racking of the slide blew my mind.
This is the ultimate Dave Ramsey gun.
Dave: "Stop financing. Buy what you can afford."
*Demolition Ranch* Shoots the slide with a other gun "hmm still works
*TFB* Throws at steel plate, "oops it's broken"
It can save your life and the lives of your family-who cares what it looks like. Seriously. Great vid!
🙏🇺🇸🙏
I respect hi-point as a company, they make cheap, durable, and reliable guns. Plus the customer support is amazing!
There's something that Hi-Point excels in that others don't...
It's a problem solver.
Hi-Points are big heavy and will take the abuse and they maybe ugly but they work, they are cheep, and if that's all you can afford then buy it.
I sure did
Its big but it weighs about the same as a Colt 1911.
@@midwest7176 Really it weighs more than a 1911
@@davidstegman8147 Colt 1911 classic 45 acp 35 oz. H.P 45 acp 35 oz.
@@midwest7176 it just feels heaver for some reason thats all maybe its the way the colt feels in your hand over the hi.
I don't knock high points because for me they were like the gateway drug that got me into the Firearms world.
If it were not for their low price, I would be looking for a different hobby.
So true for me too.
"My limp wrist test"
Bro you almost shot your jaw off with a hi point 😭😭😭 what are you gonna tell everyone
You guys miss the point this is the "AK" of pistols and I want one.
if you look at the video . The gun hit on the top . So how did it bend the action and break the trigger guard. I,m calling BS on this video
HiPoints have a no questions asked lifetime warranty (as long as the serial numbers arent scratched off) no matter if youre the original owner or not
How many glocks can shoot +P ammo all day long. How many offer no question guarentee for life of the firearm? How many have fixed barrels that will not wear out and loose accuracy ever? Thats right, none of them.
Glocks don’t need warranty’s dude
I've been shooting the same Glock for a good part of 20 years and it's still pretty damn accurate.
Are you really comparing a Glock to a fucking hi point if a Glock was 150 you wouldn’t own a fucking trash ugly hi point
SCCY does
Jamezz 35 youre completely right. They definitely don’t...until they do.
For the same money, you can buy a makarov, which weighs as much, has almost the same capacity and honestly a better gun
is it made in the USA?
edu88 does it matter?
No. I know this may come as a shock but there are good guns that are made in other countries.
Sen Kanashimi I know guns being made in the USA has a certain kind of quality level....which Eastern Europe made guns doesn't always have.
AllBlacks NZ any examples?
If you have 17 mouths to feed, you should sit down and think about some of the choices you made in your life.
Aiden Gonzalez trust me, the baby daddy, and momma let the State worry about the food bills.
right lol....
Aiden Gonzalez questions such as should I buy more ammo or condoms, buy the condoms, that way you have more money for ammo later
I would listen to your great advice but I am working on #18. Cheers!
Brian Mattock my remark was completely inappropriate. You have my sincere apologies. That was completely insensitive of me.
Believe it or not, someone built a $60 Hi-Point that lasted for over 1,000 rounds without breaking by a 3D project.
How did you modify this boat anchor to fire live ammo?!
I found some pretty easy steps for you to achieve this
1. Walk over to your nearest trash receptacle
2. Put the firearm in the trash receptacle
3. Buy a better firearm
When a bank needs robbin the hi point comes a poppin.
It works fine for popping fools
Anchors are more sturdy than a highpoint
Preston Golden
They have to be the most tortured firearms. But they still keep firing.
Doug Wright
That was the coolest way of cocking a hipoint! Now I am buying one just to do this at the range 😎
What a waste ! You could of donated that to someone that really need a firearm
Everyone refuses to recognize the hi-point and it's reliability because they have too much personal pride for the Glock and 1911
I have a high point 9mm pistol and love it. Out of all my guns it has gotten the nickname "the brick" but it is the only gun in my entire collection that I have never gotten any sort of malfunction with. I'll take function over fashion any day.
I found a good thing about (you can rack the slide with one hand!!!!)........... just kidding I love hi-points!!!!!!!
Actually I've never had one catch on my clothes, belt or hair when drawn. That's actually an important consideration. So's being able to grab the damned thing blind in the middle of the night and KNOW you've got the gun, not your glasses.
Just wish it came in .50
More reliable in adverse conditions than a Sig Legion
You need to seriously go fuck yourself,,,,,
+CoupStickBoogie lol... mad that the sign legion totally failed the gauntlet yet the hipoint made it eh?
well if nothing else, hi points make decent carry guns. Afterall your carry gun should be a gun that you don't really care about and can actually handle abuse, but still has decent accuracy and reliability. He actually had to work to destroy his... I'm sold.
That Hi-Point rattled like my old Army issued 1911 back in the 80's. Those things were older than me and beat to hell though.
So to be a fair test, put your $2,000 Glock through the same abuse.
Now the guns snobs say "oh look it broke!" Like a Glock or Kimber wouldn't have
Cade Flowers Kimbers are cool but you're right about the breaking
Yeah seen a vidoe last night of the sig 365 broke at 2000 round count that is low for something double the cost or triple the cost.
@@TheMustangStampede 2k rounds? That's sad.
I have my Kimber for 5 years never cleaned once and never had a jam. Kimbers are amongst the best manufacturers of 1911s
@@alexschenewerk7436 why would you not clean your gun? That's just dumb...
I've been told that preppers like this gun because they can afford four or five of them for the cost of one gun and arm a group.
yeah but most preppers own enough guns to arm a group anyways
deadpan237 is masturbating prepping ?
I have had one for years and give shooting lessons with it and I find it very accurate plus the weight keeps the recoil low. When people go to the range for work and shoot the S&W M &P .40 they tell me that it kicks more than my Hipoint does.
Though ugly, clumsy, and inelegant, it usually takes heavy construction machinery to kill a Hi-Point.
My only beef with hi points is that they only offer single stack magazines, if they could accept glock magazines, or even just made a decent double stack them selves, then this would be a pretty sweet deal.
starving children in Africa could have eaten that pistol...

I love my Hi-Point 40 and 45 I had him for 2 years clean them all the time I love good handguns
hi-pojnt has a lifetime warranty. also, they send you a free mag to make up for the shipping charges.
I own a Hi-Point 9 just bought a Hi-Point 9 carbine I think they're a great gun for the money I liked your video
Uploaded one minute ago and already 10 dislikes. That means people turn on notifications just to dislike this channel. 😠
The Cable Guy Tech Videos or maybe people just really dislike this video.
The Hi-Point has a fierce, though really really stupid, fanbase
GearSolidSnake You need at least one felony to get approved for a HP purchase. I worked at GM, near the hood. The stories I could tell..one guy came in demanding I sell him a rifle in "Glock" like the caliber. Is dat..one a Glock..? No it's a FNAR..him...yeah man..dats a Glock..umm ok if u say so. $1800 later he walks out the door with it.
They must've been pissed at 2:35 Then at 6:00 i can see the rage building.
could the same not be said of the likes though?
Bought a used 9mm carbine hi-point that someone changed the sight on. Called the company looking to buy the original to put back on it. They sent me a new sight free of charge. Since then I have purchased the 9mm pistol the 40 and 45. No problems with any of them. I give hi-point 2 thumbs up.
My front sight post falls off when I shoot the 45 carbine. I had to get those screws so tight they dug well into the barrel metal. There was a reason the last owner got rid of it. Two small impinging screws on the bottom are not enough.
"it's a gun, it goes bang". IM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN.
Rest in peace, Hi-Point.
Lubrication and correct ammunition never a problem for me
I have many fire arms , 3 are .45 cal, Ruger Israel made desert eagle and a hi-point .45 , my Ruger is a $450.00 gun, my desert eagle is an $1100.00 gun , and my hi-point was about $150.00 new, difference is , the hi-point has never Jammed in over 1000 rounds , my other two jam about once every other clip , I'll say this I also have the hi-point carbine , and if I had to go into battle from the zombies , I'd def be armed with the hi-points, you can say what ever you want about this brand of fire arm ,it works and works well , dam dependable , and ball nuts accuracy
Tim from military arms would be so proud.
My very first firearm was a High Point C-9 and it functioned flawlessly.
>that new Hi-Point Tactical, tho...

Hi-point should be praised for arming those who don’t have the funds for adequate self defense. They are not trying to be glock or sig, so comparing them is unfair.
It’s not the quality of the gun, it’s the experience of the marksman.
0:26 “we are going to be talking about the hipoint (someone shoots therself)
Thankfully they are lifetime guaranteed... Ive sent my carbine back for a bent firing pin.. No questions asked they fixed it and sent it back withing 5 days...
the throwing defenetly looks like it does more damage than the shooting.... interesting 🤔
All these videos are actually making me want to buy one of these. Everybody seems to hate this gun even though they seem to shoot fairly accurately. It's almost like there's a jealousy thing going on with it because of the price. I already own a bunch of guns and have sold guns in the past but we never sold the hi-point.
It's difficult to take you seriously when you throw the weapon. Therefore, I won't.
According to Hi-Point - they will repair for free. Here is their Customer Service website: www.hi-pointfirearms.com/customer-service/default.html
hi point its like the amc gremlin with a toyota hilux engine looks like shit and runs
KAMERON ROUGEOU hey now don't hate on gremmys. hate on the Vega or the pinto.
4nuk8r jesus now thats what i call persistence i had a 98 Chevy (Geo) tracker that fecker would leak oil so badly i had to put in a quart every week
huh, funny you mention those, I used to own one, my dad bought it and tried to make it a good car or a "rat rod gremlin" as he put it, only ever drove it once or twice.
the 258 AMC engine is probably better than any toyody
I think we shouldn't hate the Pinto. The thing hates itself so much that it tries to self-immolate on a regular basis. I think that should be enough
Ftw. I love my Hi Point carbine.
5 shots on the target from 7 yards = not great? That was a pretty good group IMHO.
The 4 shots not on the target is obviously the tool behind the tool
The amount of damage to that weapon did not come from throwing at that target and with that being said only an idiot would treat any weapon that way.
