Yesss me too!
did u get it?
tanukrishna chetia Yeah, that was from christmas 2014. I got it and since then I've built up pretty fast feet.
@@higaindane what about now
name of the video should be as follows
''Heavy Metal Drumming - How To Play Like Chris Adler''
:333
Not really, at least one of these beats is used in a SlipKnoT song
Nobody owns these beats, nor are any of these signature beats
Man, that is the best bass drum sound I have ever heard. It's like "Thurder" man. Is it the drum, is it the tuning, is it the beaters, is it the pedals, is it the drummer, is it the drum tech??? It's just the best bass drum sound I have ever heard. Tone, depth, etc, all just sound "awesome." I wish my bass drum sounded like that. However, mine is electronic, so I might be able to achieve that sound, but I doubt it. Awesome beats as well Sean.
I really like adding those to my drumming. It gives a very fine effect.
awesome lesson.
Not even sure why I watched this, I don't have a double pedal. I guess you can never know enough, eh?
same
Try playing them on your single bass pedal for a ridiculous endurance exercise ;)
I can’t get a double pedal because I have 0 money lol
I just got one 3 months ago and I'm lovin life!
those broken bass pedal beats are so easy and nice to play, except for EX.4 i will have to practice a bit more to get the hang of that one.
I like the color of his drums.
Mindblowing stuff sir, if these beats are mastered by new drummers and then played slow in context with subtleties and feel...can produce some fantastic songs. I really dig the drummer of Russian Circle, most musical and groovy playing.
The fourth and fifth one are so cool
I am kind of stuck in between beginner and intermediate. I cant seem to get it down after months of practice. any recommendations?
Awesome! these metal lessons are killer
God The Metal stuff is awesome.. Sean is so beast
One of those double bass drum beats sounds exactly from a Pantera song, but I don't remember the name of the song, the CD has a blue album cover with a skull and something going through the skull.
Internet is of course a large place to search some, but if you want some concrete material then I'd recommend you to check out Syncopation by Tod Reed. I personally don't have it, but I've heard from various sources that it is THE book. Should be available on ebay, amazon, etc. :)
Awesome bro
the beat at 1:26 reminds me of Bored from Deftones
LOVVVVINNN the metal stuff guys
Thanks so much for this! It's a great starting point to start making my own broken double bass beats. Are you going to make an advanced video?
@brimbles72 I play in First Reign.
Awesome this really helped thanks.
Great vid!
It took me 25 months to get that ex. 4 working.
this video is sickk!! could you put some more videos of double bass broken beats on soon please :D
I LOVE YOU FOR THIS!
I
wow, this kit is set up the same as mine :D nice lesson, thnx a lot :)
awesome!
Yes, he truly is.
3:38 Boom!
dude can you tell us how did you tuned your bass drum like that. that sound is amazing. please tell us. take a video or whatever but you must do that.
+Kubilay Gendihal It's the EQ on the mixer.
+Torch TV oh thx
Yeah they probably compress the hell out of it and have a gate so only the main strike comes through and the tail end gets sliced off. That makes it clean and punchy sounding with no ring at the end. They also are world class when it comes to tuning, micing, and mixing drums.
if you like this and you want to take it to the next lvl, look up Meshuggah - Bleed drum covers. just sick what that guy is playing...
Awesome lessons,im lefty and so is my drumkit.would it be possible to have a normal double pedal?somethink like below the floor tom.
I've sort of nailed the heel up tek but I can't break it up into short blast. I can keep it steady but no groove with it. I'm a complete beginner so I don't know how to communicate what I'm trying to learn. Is there some exercise or something to work on this?
@caltalbot2 he's using triggers.
I'm lovin' it... better than McDonalds. More metal drumming vids please!
Curious- why not natural sticking (footing) ? IE RLRL R R instead of RLRL R L. Is there a benefit to this?
Yes, practicing your weaker foot. In this case, it is the left foot. So if it would be RLRL R R you would not get the flow properly because the left foot may not be used to playing 16ths and then an 8ght note.
dope
Advanced beats pls!
Please do some more advanced beats i am way past this stuff
Could anyone tell me what the term 'heavy leg syndrome' means when it comes to pedals? Sick video, these help big time with learning my double bass stuff!
@InFiiLtRaTor Would you care to share? Could you send something that "you" have done so I could give it a listen? Because if you think Sean's sound was bad, then I just have to hear what you are producing. You have me very curious.
Does any one know where to get sheet music for drums?
crazzzzyyyyyy!!!!
hey sean, have you tried trick pro v 1 big foot pedals? if you have what do you rate them to axis long boards?
Bass drum sounds insane! How'd you get that sound. It sounds like the bass drum off the Metallica album "...and justice for all"
It's pretty easy, you just gotta get decent heads, some decent muffling and a good pedal.
+DaneFromHell eq
you need triggers
casey drums!
Song in the beginning?
DRUM SET UP VID.
Got a lot of mileage out of this. Can we get five more please?!?
@InFiiLtRaTor And what qualify's you to make that statement???
I was able to do these beats before I saw this video and I could do it faster than him but now I have no clue what happened to my legs. My hamstrings stiffens and my ankle motion disappeared. I didn’t change anything or do anything different, I just woke up and lost half of my drumming skills. So depressed does anyone know what to do?
Patrick Ecraela stretch, dummy
just of curiosity, are you related to Thomas Lang in some way?
Hey drumlessonscom! I have some serious issues with my pedals as my feet are way too big to play accurately. I wear size 15's wide and want to know if you have heard of this problem. All I could find online where about the heel toe technique but my feet barely fit on the pedal normally. I am currently looking into long boards to solve this problem.
+crazytrain58 All I can say is agree on the longboards. I don't even have really big feet (US 11's) and can't imagine playing on small pedals (I use a Tama Speed Cobra which I definitely recommend).
Haha you got there before me XD
I'd like to know as well, out of curiosity
Could someone tell me where can I get (if I can) the full intro and/or outro song? Thanks!
Shazam??
me gustó el penúltimo ejercicio. después no siento musicalidad en los demás.
What's the best way to build up speed on the pedals heel down?
practice...
djent is totally a genre yeah I mean like practicing techniques you know, like should I learn to just sustain it for a long period of time first, or should I increase speed, then duration?
XL3gion I would say just practice to a metronome. start over on at a low tempo and increase the tempo x number of bpms every 10 or so bars. I suggest downloading an app metronome that's actually good for this. I use the Pro Metronome app and I purchased all the subdivision for like a dollar and it's definitely worth it. just try gradually increasing speed first.
XL3gion don't start off trying to go as fast you can. you have to develop control before you get fast, because a sloppy fast means nothing. you gotta try to nail your technqiue down, so you gotta GRADUALLY increase your bpm and slowly go up the scale.
there's a feature on that app that let's you increase whatever number of bpm every whatever number of bars/time. It's a great app and I really suggest it. good luck sir.
Awesome vid but this video really illustrates how over-compressed the audio is in these videos.
great, can I ask? What is the manufacturer of your drums?
do u trigger your kicks?
His bass drum sounds so amazing! Does anyone have a clue how he tunes it?
Funkmasterfons He uses a Trigger
Very loose heads (just tight enough to get the wrinkles out on both heads. Toss a pillow in it. Use some kind of hard beater with lots of attack (rubber, plastic, wood, metal (breaks heads) with an impact pad on the drum head. We'll, I just realized your comment is 9 years old...you probably figured it out by now
Is it just me or do these sound better on the slower tempos?
i wanna see hom do 200 bpm or more
1:46 just like One of Metallica
I recognize alot of Metallica in this, very cool :D
What bass pedal are u using
I'm Ron Burgundy?!
no, One of Metallica is 16th notes triplets
2:20 can someone say ruin by lamb of god
e36source 2:20 ruin lamb of god
example 3 is from one metallica and example 4 is from sabaton carolus rex lol
he uses triggers
the last one sounds like im broken by pantera
Change speed of video to 2x the speed lol.
Me trying to play meta on a single petal because I can’t afford a double
where is advanced and basic
He neeeeeeeeds to play bleed
Because Lars Ulrich is a very intermediate player.
i play guitar...
Lars does hardly use double bass
Oh yes. Broken double bass beats. Very common in "core" music. Mostly played in breakdowns.
Also in some Crossover Thrash and Groove Metal bands too.
tuck234 Well, basically all the heavy metal genres and sub genres have broken double bass beats. And it is very uncommon for a metal drummer to not use double pedals.
So dooppppe
His feet are going faster than my hands. ....
A good example of some of these techniques: ruclips.net/video/oixHnScB76M/видео.html
bacon
That wouldn't really be useful in a lesson though, would it?
doesn't look like he does.
@caltalbot2 I have a home studio that produced much better tones and quality than this.
