Many thanks Gill for the really useful video. I intend to leave a comment which is including a question but, it will be long so, in advance, hope you accept my sincere apologies for your time and my not good English as well. 1- Why in the first poetry the poet use "she" for the bee? While we know that in any hive, just we have a queen who is female and rest of the bees are male. 2- We have almost the same this in our literature, Persia. We called it Tazmin, which it means inserting the verses of one's own in between a famous older poetry line with the same rhymes and relevant meaning but much serious. One of the most famous of them is: Tazmin of Sheikh Bahaei on Khiyalieh Bokharaei's poetry. 3- After your professional explain about difference recommendations to children, between two poets, I find out that it might be relevant to changing the purpose and the way of human's life along the more than one hundred years that you mentioned. We were living for many years in social to be remaining, as the same as other species which have a group living, like ant or bee. But it seems after industry's era, people have been engaged to consumption more and more to make money for people who owns the factories so, the purpose of human's life also, I think, has been changed to a selfish living. In my viewpoints, the secret of human's remaining is to being "together" as the first poet's said in your lesson. You pointed correctly that both of them were religious, and it was very important, thank you. Actually, I think it clearly prove that the purpose of religion has been changed along the time as well. Protestantism's has been based on industry and liberalism comes from protestant. Hope I could conveyed what is in my mind, and I'm really looking forward to hearing from you about my opinions. Thank you in advance. Have a great day Gill, and enjoy today's lovely sunshine.
I’ve been following you for years now; I think I’m about your age, give or take, (I’m an Italian grandmother of four) and I still love listening to your lessons. One can learn this beautiful language and relax at the same time. I wish my grandchildren’s English teachers were cultured, kind and good teacher like you are. Best wishes.
Nice class of English literature with lovely teacher! Gill thanks a lot! I'm not a native English speaker and originally don't keen on poetry, but your explanations are so interesting and detailed, that makes me very excited!
Спасибо Вам большое за Ваши уроки )! Вас смотрят и в России . Сейчас очень мало таких грамотных , интеллигентных и воспитанных учителей традиционной английской школы по изучению английского языка.
Dear Ma'am Gill, Yes, this lesson on ' Parody ' is quite interesting ! The original poem on the ' busy bee' teaches us how we should try and work incessantly to gain something ! On the contrary, the second poem on ' the crocodile ' shows us that there are many people in this world who want to work less and gain more by harming others. There is a positive and negative side of every situation. Roses come along with the thorns ! Thanks, Ma'am !

1. In Early Modern English some animals, such as bees and hares, were called "she," while most other animals were called "he." Nowadays, animals are usually called "it." Notice that in an early version of the Lewis Carroll's novel, _Alice's Adventures under Ground,_ the crocodile is called "it."
Dear beloved Gill. Thank you for this lesson! I do love poetry. But from this lesson I realized Lewis Carrol was not only a good poet but a very clever man ❤ Thank you so much ❤

Ma'am, i am not able to remember the caption of the story and by whom is it written ? Thanks ! 😃
