- HKS Racing Performer GR86の筑波サーキットタイムアタック。
Vol.5では11月25日に行ったタイムアタックの模様をお届けします。今シーズン初となるタイムアタック。先シーズンより、馬力を上げるため大容量インジェクターに交換し、プロトタイプのF-CON iSで制御。ターボはGTIII-RSのまま、ブースト１㎏fで450psまでパワーアップ。さらに、サスペンションのセッティング等各部を見直し、タイムアタックに臨みました。
朝一のアタックで57秒890をマークしGR86筑波最速記録を更新。更なるタイム更新を計るべくタイヤ径やファイナルを交換しテストするも、タイム更新はならず、結果、朝一のタイムがこの日のトップタイムとなりました。
今シーズンは始まったばかり、まずは、ノーマルエンジン、ノーマルミッションでどこまでタイムを出せるかに挑みます。
この挑戦から新たなパーツを開発していきますので、是非ご期待ください‼

450Hp with stock engine, stock gearbox is impressive.
I liked the previous gens looks better but you cannot argue against the performance improvement of this beast.
taniguchi drive so smooth i cant tell if he even pushing that hard but '57 seem about right for the power & weight
He makes it looks so effortless.

Would you buy this fully upgraded GR86 or a Corvette C8 generation? Sorry it's a weird question but I'm trying to decide between the two
@@kamikazi5144 I would buy this HKS GR86, cuz beside the corvette being more powerful, this GR86 is lighter and has a better handling, so I would choose the GR86 any day.

when does this turbo set up come out? I think it says its an HKS GTIII-RS. I see they have for sale the gt2 supercharger. but I want this. sounds sooooo good. cuz I can't find it on the HKS website

Be honest this car looks really understeering, I was wondering the car’s weight distribution get destroyed by turbo and oil cooler.
weight distribution can be counteracted with suspension tuning
a turbo setup and oil cooler will affect the weight distribution by 1-2% at most, and getting more weight over the front should make it oversteer and not understeer

How did the TRD Griffon concept 86 do a 57 with a relatively stock motor and slicks about 6-7 years ago.
HKS is still useing street legal parts that will be sold in the future

@@jamesz1003 It’s still a stock engine. HKS is trying to find out what the limit of the engine is before overhauling it. The car is pushing 450 to the crank (370 to the wheel or so) and it still hasn’t blown up, so that’s a very good sign.

So i have a question.. if i put this setup will it last long .. the engine?
turbocharging any engine will reduce the life expectancy. so dont think of the life expectancy. think of what a turbo can do to accomplish your goals.

@@carplay5454 well ... My goal is to daily drive it .. and the idea of turbocharger came to my mind after seeing that compression ratio decrease from 12:1
To 11:1 .. so i felt its kinda waste of i didnt use that gap .. if turbocharger setup will make the engine last 300k miles .. im right on it ..
Of course i ment that compression ratio decreased in the new engine compared to the previous 2.0 engine 😊😇
@@rashidalshidhani3628 maybe itll last for normal street driving. hard driving, no. something always breaks when a car is constantly driven to the limits. a small turbo with a conservative tune for faster response will be ur ideal set up as a dd. a supercharger might even be more ideal if it can fit under the hood.

I wished they stay Naturally Aspirated.... turbo is too out of reach for 98% of the owner of this car.
