- In this video, we explain what the Uniswap Decentralized Exchange is, including the purpose of it and the reason for the UNI token. There are 2 main uses for Uniswap.
So you could be a token swapper, and change your ETH for BAT for only .03%, which is useful to many traders. In fact, Uniswap currently has over one billion dollars trading each day.
Another main use is you could be a liquidity provider, and earn a return on your investment by lending it to the pool. Right now, there are 9 billion dollars in all of the pools on the Uniswap exchange.

quite good videos, i searched a few videos of AMM and Uniswap, this video is the better one.

@@WhiteboardCrypto hi, i have a question on AMM. If i add liqudiity to the pool, it seems that I can see the preferred range. E.g: 1ETH=USD 2400 now, I can "place it" /"add it" if it hit the ranges usd 2680-2720. If ETH rises to that level, my "liquidity"/"eth" is finally sold at that level.?
or is it just be affected once i decide to pull it out from the pool if it hits that level. so that i earn some money by selling high?
I have read a few articles on it, but i do not get it clearly.

Question: If Uniswap is decentralized and automated, how does owning the UNI token and voting change how it works? Are the smart contracts underlying Uniswap written to automatically enact any code changes approved by the majority of token holders?

First of all, love your channel! I'm not sure what you mean when you say 'no taxes' at 6:27. Swapping one cryptocurrency for another is considered a taxable event so you'd still have to record a capitol gain or loss on that trade.
Uniswap doesn't report your transactions to any government entity. You'll still owe tax depending on your country's rules. In the US for instance, you're definitely going to need to track and report your transactions and report your income... but you'll have to do that yourself. Uniswap is not going to send you a 1099 form for example.

Just asking cuz im not sure, if I decide to become Liquidity Provider that means that im Staking ( eather my coins, tokens or fiat ) , correct ?
"and you pay a very, very small fee" - something like 100$ on Ethereum :-)
Although luckily, Uniswap is also on Polygon since few months, but the problem is that most exchanges take huge fees when you withdraw MATIC or ETH from your account, so it's still not small fee for most exchanges :-(
It seems like technically (at least in the US) you WOULD have a taxable event which changes all of these calculations.
