- In this video I walk you through how to change the coolant in your car with a proper radiator flush. These same steps can be applied to other vehicles as well.

I like the way you used distilled water to avoid mineral build . Small details like that matter.
Thanks for this dude! It really was helpful👍🏼
Thanks for this video, I found the drain tab on the rigt site of my Juke Nismo, but when turning the drain valve northing comes out. Any idea?
It worked, I just needed to turn the valve some more times👍
Hows your sentra doing? Ever do a suspension change on it?
Very helpful and answered all my questions without having to ask lol thanks!

@@specialed618 Hello I have questions do the 2008 Nissa versa s sedan take yellow coolant or green?
How much coolant did you need to flush?
So my question is we refill with distilled water then run the car with the heat on , wait for around 15 minutes til it gets temperature and after that we restart the process to bleed the distilled water? I guess that we repeat the process til we see clear water right? After that we make the last bleed and we refill but in this case with collant? Please let me know if I’m wrong! Best regards
How many antifreeze bottles would I need?
Good morning my friend and nice to meet you!
Is it okay if i can ask you for help on doing a full coolant system service for my vehicle (2003 DODGE CARAVAN SE)?
What suspension You Running on the sentra
Great video man Where do you disposed the use anti freeze and the use distilled water?
Distilled water I would just dump down the drain, not a whole lot of chemicals left in it . The used antifreeze I was just able to call the city and they pick it up.
You can also drop it off at AutoZone
Thanks for the video 👍very helpful
During my flush I developed a lifter tick hopefully a oil change will solve the tick
What kind of coolant should be used in this car?

You shouldn't have to remove the shroud on the bottom if you use one of the lines that goes from the radiator to the overflow bucket to drain the radiator.
"The battery on my camera died.." 🙄 He was waiting for the engine to cool down and fell asleep.. then he was like... fuck it.. ill do the rest tomorrow... then he took it to a mechanic... 😜
Thanks very detail
Super helpful thanks!!!!
How many gallons of coolant does it need?
Gotta do this soon thx
I will do it to my 07 Sentra. Have not done this all these years. is there a preference of the liquid. any brand in particular?
The coolant system is sealed, so technically if no dust ever got in there the coolqnt should be good for years. The mqnual recommends something like 60k before changing it.
Therr's not a huge difference between brands, it's just important to get the mixture of water and antifreeze right.
@@thecarizon504 Thank you. My 07 Sentra is driven well over 60K after the previous flushing.
Should the system not be bled? And how did you dispose of the old coolant/distilled water?
Where I live, old coolant can be disposed of by calling the city.
The intermediate flushes contain hardly any coolant, so I let it down the drain.
You "bleed" the system when you drain and refill it a couple times. If you're worried about air in the hoses after refilling, you can massage the hoses with the car running to help free it.
approximately how many times do you need to flush out the radiator with distilled water and about how long does the whole process take?
Really depends how clean you care to get it. Ideally you keep flushing until the water comes out crystal clear. If you flush it a good 3/4 times you should be solid.
Depends how quick you work, if you've done car work before (oil changes or whatever), maybe a couple hours tops.
Incomplete operation. It was necessary to remove the cylinder block drain plug and air relief plug.
thanks
Where you got that muffler from?
BRM Exhaust
But can I use regular water???
No. The minerals and chemicals in it are going to rust the radiator. And the chemicals leftover after flushing will mix the coolant and change its chemistry.
Do we have to flush it? Can I just add more?
You should flush it to get the gunk out, but if you are in a time crunch and it's running low on coolant give it a top off.
I use Prestone Radiator flush concentrate to do a really good job of cleaning out the entire coolant system. Then drain and refill the cooling system.
You could’ve just done it from the top instead of going under the car.
Where did you even come out with the idea that that was the proper way to do it I mean I just read the Chilton manual and I have do many flushes on my cars and that's not how is done
Bruh just post a video on how to do it properly so we can all learn. No need to be upset we all start somewhere
@@RedWingedBlackbird well he didn't do it the right way then everyone is going to do it the wrong way
Why are you so obsessed with how he did it? Post your own video, and learn some proper grammar while you're at it
This method requires the use of undiluted anti-freeze. Adding back 50-50 will be too diluted. Only about 60-65% is drained. Using undiluted will result in about 60-65% anti-freeze, just right.
If you leave the caps on then open the cock to the radiator, very little will flow out. After adjusting the position of the pan, you open the caps. There will be very little splashing.
This is not a flush is called drained also you forgot to drain engine coolant to do a flush you have to take thermostat off and run water from a garden hose
The whole point of running the drain several times with distilled water is to pull out the "engine coolant" which mixes with the water as the engine is run, hence "flush".
@@thecarizon504 you doesn't know what you doing
@@thecarizon504 you don't have a clue the engine block have a plug same as radiator you pull the engine block plug out coolant from the engine will drain
@@jvazquez7160 You doesn't?
The music kinda takes away from the video...
Edit: It gets worse. To the point that I'm downvoting and moving to the next video.
Dude, your music taste will not mesh with everyone elses. Stick to the mechanics of the video. Leave your media taste for another.

@@The_Pariah My first reply was to you, goofstick. Just shut up! Go do something better than original poster of the video, and get back to me. Clowna$$ troll.
I suggest you learned how to do things before putting on RUclips
Care to explain what I did wrong or are you just here to berate me?
First is not called flush what you did is a drain also under the engine block there is a plug that will drain the coolant out of the engine now if you want to do a flush which is more efficient and will pull all impurities out is by taking the thermostat out and on top of the radiator connect a water hose and unplug the return water hose out and turn the water hose on everything will come out on the bottom of the hose water will circulate through the radiator through engine block and will come out
@@jvazquez7160 thank for elaborating. None of this is required for a coolant flush/drain. Sure, you can more thoroughly get any traces of the previous coolant out of the system by doing this, however draining the fluid and then cycling distilled water through the system will FLUSH most of it out. It really doesn't matter what verbiage you use here, people understand what you are talking about.
The FSM for a 2011 Sentra with MR20 equipped engine only recommends doing the full flush out of coolant with pressurized air/water if you are removing the radiator core. Additionally, it states that the coolant plug from the engine does not need to be used to drain unless the engine is being removed.
I appreciate the feedback, but it's not necessary to chastise me and assume I don't know what I'm doing.
@@thecarizon504 Great answer.
Easy way to open that drain plug from the top
