It's called a “Bouns Ring” to help close the daylight around the scope. I was running this on my hunting bow and didn't want to change my peep out because I'm switching back to my hunting sight soon. Next year ill run a peep with an interchangeable aperture.

I would add a raincoat and a hat. Sometimes hiking sneakers are better than boots depending on the weather.
