Brad…I started following your tutorials when I was homeless because I couldn’t afford a haircut. Now that I am no longer homeless and have a job, I still follow your tutorials. Thank you for the advice and love you show on your videos. 💞
@@kearabevels The only thing i can recommend to you is to buzz his hair while he's sleeping or really distracted with something (like a mobile game) me and my dad do this with my little brother whenever he's giving us a hard time with his hair
I have set up what I call the Sensory Salon for my 2 boys with Autism. We have a tablet and earbuds, coloring books, a doodle board, and magnets. Just different options to keep their attention off the haircut. The only part I buzz is around the ears and the back of the neck because buzzing is the worst part for mine. Also, when I know I'm almost finished, I will say "give me 10 more snips", then we count down together. I know every child has his or her thing but these are just a few things that work for us. Hope this helps and best of luck!
i gave my daughter the butterfly cut following your tutorial and it TRANSFORMED her curly hair! it used to go all frizzy and poofy at the ends but kind of flat on top, she legit had a triangle head and it was such a pain to manage. with the butterfly cut, she just blossomed. her hair falls naturally around her head, it's so much easier to manage, and it actually CURLS like it's supposed to! if you could come up with a similar cut with just a bit less distance between the short pieces and the long pieces, i would love to see it!
my hair is super wavy and this cut has done wonders that no other cut had for me! my tip for making the front piece longer is to lower the ponytail maybe to your lips so you don't get the jellyfish effect that can happen lol
Hey Brad, thanks for the tutorial! I love it! I’m disabled and getting out to the hairdresser is difficult and painful, so for the first time in my life I have just cut my own hair!! I’ve just done this tutorial to my hair and it came out awesome! From a very happy 60 year old in UK!
I used your old tutorial for my haircut the other day and chopped a foot off. My hair grew out straight while I was pregnant and I had about 7 inches of new growth that was all curls. So I chopped all that straight ish off and I feel so beautiful and light!
I just glanced down and saw "chopped a foot off" and my brain jumped straight to thinking there was a horrible haircutting accident, omg... 😂 I'm glad it went well instead!
Brad wtf I NEVER cut my hair by myself. I've watched u for YEARS! Yesterday I put my big girl pants on and followed your butterfly cut tutorial AND NOW YOU POST THIS😱😍
For anyone with long hair who struggles with the high ponytail: I find it so much easier to just flip your hair downwards and let gravity help you. Maybe an obvious advice, but I have been doing this cut for 2 years and just recently had that idea. 🙈
I was just sitting here, debating whether or not to cut my hair and this video pops up. I have exactly the same hair as the model.. color, curl, length. I guess this is a sign to get cutting!
lol aw how ironic! I have wavy hair (2b ish) and I cut about 10/11" last week with his old tutorial. I absolutely love it! I hope you do as well!!! just follow his steps, especially ponytail placement & the angle you cut it 🥰
Just beware, this cut may well not work well on natural curls (unless you plan to straighten/blowout your hair every morning). I'd suggest skipping the curtain bangs if you don't want to be straightening them every morning.
Watching this and realising you can never please anybody never mind everybody. Haircut is stunning and model looks amazing and happy. My curly headed self thinks - give me the curl. But I'm not the target audience or the client here. Amazing. This will help so many folk.
Yes, I would also love to see the haircut in the natural curls! While I love the blowout, we always see that. I'm such a lazy person myself and rarely do any styling for my straight hair so it would be nice to see how layered hairstyles look in their natural state. I think layers look amazing on curly hair, straight not so much lol
My hair is VERY thin, fine, barely there.... I just tried this cut at home and my hair feels amazing and now looks alive! Thank you for this tutorial. Once I'm ready for a re-trim I'll record it cuz it was definitely a journey. Love you Brad

Brad! I've started doing the butterfly cut since your first tutorial and my most recent cut is THE BEST! I took off more length and it made a world of difference! Thank you so much for sharing your expertise in layman's terms!!!
Brad Thank You for doing this, I have curly hair and my hair was waist length. I took your advice with the butterfly cut. Taking 8 inches off, still long on my shoulders. I LOVE IT! Thank You! I am truly a curly girl!

This is soo good for curly hair. Idk why but hairdressers in germany seem to learn only techniques for pin-straight hair that won't work on my mess. Now I do this and I am free
Jepp. Fellow German here. I have really thick and dense, stubbornly wavy hair and no matter what length or hairstyle, I only ever seem to get a 'standard' haircut, that doesn't really work for me. I started doing the butterfly cut after growing out my failed attempt at a bob two years ago and while the result isn't perfect, it looks better than what hairstylists have given me in the past. And it's *free*.
fellow curly german and this kind of cut looks so terrible on my hair 😭 when i go to the hairdresser they always want to put a bunch of layers in my hair and i end up looking like a sad cocker spaniel. i don’t know, maybe my hair is just impossible. kind of tempted to try this at home thing tho…
@@MRM-ev7rs i feel you.. that 'Susi' from Susi und Strolch look? I had hairdressers insist that my hair should all be the same length to weigh the curls down and that was bad too..
German Curly here too, I honestly haven't been to a hairdresser since I was 6... that was 21 years ago. Never bleached, only coloured twice as a child. I naturally have light brown hair with golden undertone. And I loooove the butterfly cut. It just seems to grow out so fast... I could cut every 2 weeks basically... but I struggle with styling.
I finally got up the courage to try this and it came out great. I invested in an inexpensive pair of haircutting shears which definitely helps. I also have naturally wavy sort of curly hair and this is definitely a great cut for my hair type. I'm really happy with how my hair came out. The layers give it volume and life.
I followed your old tutorial and impulsively cut my hair AND IT LOOKS SO GOOD?! i was fully prepared to go back to a pixie cut after growing my hair out for 1.5 years but it looks AMAZING
Thank you for teaching us to do this DIY cut! ❤ I did it yesterday and I am very happy with the results. I have medium length, curly hair and this cut worked really well. I rarely blow dry my hair but, with some product, I can twist little sections and they dry to nice, less frizzy curls. It works well with this cut. 😊 I was only nervous about getting the sectioning right. Once that was done I was fearless. You might have been proud. 😉
I followed this tutorial yesterday with zero experience cutting my own hair, and while I paused and rewinded A LOT, I followed the instructions diligently and it came out FLAWLESS. ❤️ honestly one of the best cuts I’ve ever had. I wish I had taken a (highly edited) video! 😂🥳🙏 also - I did not have a sharp pair of ✂️ sheers SO I used an electric trimmer to avoid any damage 🤗
Okay so I tried this and I absolutely love it. I haven't had layers in a long time and I thought well. I'm not spending an x amount of dollars just to get it the way I like it at first I was hesitant but it totally worked out perfectly and I'm so happy that I will continue to be doing this cuz I recommend just doing a little bit and like Brad says kind of go from there but I have so much omph and volume love it!!!

I gave my 7yr old daughters curly blonde hair the butterfly haircut today. We watched your tutorial cutting it and it turned out so good. She loves her hair, thank you
I tried this cut and my hair looks so beautiful! This video was very helpful. I have been wanting to cut my hair like this for so long! I am so grateful for your videos! Thank you!!! ❤
I do this cut regularly on my shoulder length hair while working on growing out some super dead bleached straw ❤ super easy 2 cuts and done to get rid of the last inch and give it a little more life. I’m about halfway grown out now, I can only imagine how wonderful it will be once I finally get to the cut that’s all virgin hair 😌 the direction being correctly aligned for the cut is the key to making it so easy and thankfully my personal cut is short enough that the curtain bang is built in 😂
We all say in unison, thank you Brad Mondo❤ i just cut my hair with your guidance 😌 and i love it 🥰 thank you for being here, you and your videos are the best❤️
I have always been terrified of cutting my own hair. I followed this tutorial tonight and it came out really nice! Thank you so much! Reminds me of a haircut I had professionally done in high school and looks fantastic!
I have a very long hair so it was so hard for me to cut the back ponytail so I got someone to help and they stood on the bed and i sat on the floor it was actually extra hard to keep the tension hair but we did it and it was good! Thank you sm ,Brad! This is the first time I cut my own hair at home because I was always scared but you made it easier by your explanation ❤
I watched your video from 4 years ago, back then. Yesterday, I decided I wanna do it again! Funny to see you post an updated tutorial the same day I decided to come look for it. 😂❤ thanks beautiful
I'm waiting for my toner to get delivered, cause I tutched up my highlights yesterday. Also bleached the underlayer of my hair to put blue on it. When my colouring job is done I am definitely going to give this 🦋cut a try!!! PERFECT TIMING, THANK YOU BRAD! ❤
I used this method on my hair after I got PO'd at three attempts at going to the hairdressers and they wouldn't listen to what I wanted, even when I bring in pictures of the style I was wanting. The third time I just walked out. I was so done with salons. So at 54, I took matters into my own hands and it was what I have always wanted! With the drape bangs, I didn't go as far back, only an inch because I have three cowlicks near the 2-inch mark that made my bangs fall heavy to one side and a funky inward curl that would never go the way I want them to go. But this cut is so easy to do, even with limited mobility in my hands, and easy to roll with steam rollers ( I can't use a curling iron anymore). It really highlights the white, grey and fading red as I transition to white, it makes all colours fade gently together. I always get compliments on my hair from strangers. Thank you Brad for your generosity in sharing your techniques!
Im getting ready to try this out right now!!! Like, literally, I have my hair in the ponytails lol......and, dont worry, the front one is BETWEEN MY EYEBROWS lol. Im actually a cosmetologist, so I know how to cut hair the "traditional" way......but, cutting my OWN hair is difficult! Ive never understood how some stylists can do that!!! Ive had my license since 2013, and I've still never mastered the "self haircut" lol. Heres hoping this turns out well!!!!
I did curtain bangs and butterfly cut before from your previous videos before and I loved it. So 10 minutes ago I took my special hair scissors ✂️ and cutting hair like in this video and it looks amazing 🥰 Thank you Brad. I have wavy hair and all of those cuts look amazing if you want to know and consider it. Layers makes hair lighter that makes them more defined as waves 🌊 cheers
My friend hairstylist said that I cut her hair as professional (I am lawyer) 😂 I learned just some tips from your videos Brad and my conclusion is that hairstylist in my country (Poland) are kind of scared for trends in cuts. Mostly people have sad simple cuts, sometimes with little layering close to face to blend in baby hairs.
I have been thinking of cutting my hair like this for a bit and just looked up the tutorial today and found this one that's brand new! As I have thich hair it's nice to see you do the cut on real, thick hair. Makes me feel more confident that I can do the cut for myself
I did this cut and followed the directions to a T. I had hair down to my butt (32"), and it was flat and heavy even though I have a natural curl. I never heat style my hair, so I wanted my bounce back. I went for it even though I was a little scared, and it turned out great.
I just did this this past weekend and I love it! Afterward I also ended up cutting 6 inches off my hair and dyed it with a friend…it’s too red so I need to give it another go with beach and 30 developer
Although I had very curly hair as a baby, since the first time it was cut it has been very straight, with just a bit of wave in my bangs whenever I actually had bangs. I did your butterfly cut using your older tutorial and suddenly find myself with curly hair. Like, ringlets! It was quite a shock, especially at age 60, to say the least! Not really sure how to deal with them, but just ordered some of your wave tech products to see if they help. Thanks for your great tutorial!
This has me convinced to cut my own hair again haha. The last time i followed your butterfly and wolfcut tutorials it turned out so good (both butterfly and wolfcut)
Love you 4Ever. Never disappoint.. literally.. you just bring so much light to everyone who watches you.. it’s hard to explain but I’ve been a fan for years and I always will be. Consistently watching for your new uploads.. ✨🖤✨

❤❤❤😂 spectacular Brad finally he did this I love this you look so good with your natural hair like this it actually makes you look younger
Brad, you're the only person I would trust to cut my hair!! Just stunning!
She has thee prettiest hair 😍
This is true.
ikrrr
Absolutely - but the *before* shot. Those curls are lovely.
her highlights woke up! I love it
Great cut - she looks amazing.
Thank you so much! As a wife on a budget right now, this saved me money and looks great!
I've done the butterfly cut and its gorgeous! I cut off around 18 inches and I love my hair. Thank you, Brad ♥️
I love when he goes 'hi beautiful'
I love you Brad ❤
Sophia is so ridiculously beautiful to begin with, I can’t believe you actually made her look even better! You’re a magician!
I did the butterfly haircut with an already wolfcut and it looks so pretty I love it
This video makes me really happy! Friendship goals ❤ and also I did cut my hair with craft scissors this morning before I saw this video 👀
I have been thinking of cutting my hair like this for a bit and just looked up the tutorial today and found this one that's brand new! As I have thich hair it's nice to see you do the cut on real, thick hair. Makes me feel more confident that I can do the cut for myself
Wowsers! What a huge change! Lovely! I did your butterfly cut last year and it came out AMAZING!
I finally did this and it is perfect for my wavy, curly hair. Thank you Brad Mondo 😊
Her hair is gorgeous and this cut really looks good on her love her natural curls and waves
I did this cut and followed the directions to a T. I had hair down to my butt (32"), and it was flat and heavy even though I have a natural curl. I never heat style my hair, so I wanted my bounce back. I went for it even though I was a little scared, and it turned out great.
I followed this and just got rid of some length, looks great and hair feels so much lighter, thanks Brad ily
oh hell yeah! just followed this video and my wavy/curly hair is looking bomb after styling. thx brad 🫶
I just did this this past weekend and I love it! Afterward I also ended up cutting 6 inches off my hair and dyed it with a friend…it’s too red so I need to give it another go with beach and 30 developer
I just did this yesterday, it was so easy and worked great!! Thank you!!
I used this to cut my hair today for my birthday, and I'm very happy with the results. Thank you for the gift.
Happy birthday!🎉

Sophia's hair is beautiful anyway, but this cut... Wow! She looks sooo beautiful, very 70's, but very modern. Thanks Brad
