Indra Nooyi is a great leader who is honest, competent, humane and her promotion is based on job performance. I was inspired when she said mentee are chosen by Mentors .
Indra framed the gender role as an economic argument and not a feminist argument. It is important to appreciate that she was a trailblazer because she had no women bosses. More importantly, she fought through the societal norms in India where women were prevented from even pursuing a higher education.
I really liked what Indira told about building a stronger sisterhood. It is very true, I don't understand why women see each other as a threat more than a support.

I respect the work Indra Nooyi is trying to do here - bringing inclusion and strong family values in American society; that will benefit it greatly. I am skeptical about the ultimate success though. Diversity is hard because there are deep differences in values between groups of people and until you unite those in a synthesis, a real diversity is not possible; what you get is diverse folk conforming to some dominant culture, a fine compromise! As an aside I'm also impressed by how direct and clear she speaks, definitely one of a kind!
Her work and her talk is more about leadership, work life balance, optimistic about future, being strong and face challenges. Not about health, diet, junk food or plant based food etc . That’s whole another topics. All corporate companies have been playing with peoples’ health from skincare to tobacco.

In her life she headed one of the largest producer of junk food. Her job was selling more and more sugar-laden junk to more and more people (In her 12 year tenure as CEO, PepsiCo's sales grew 80%). She made millions at the cost of people's health.
Nobody asked you to replace your daily meals with junk food . Lack of moderation is a personal lack of accountability - none of PepsiCo’s products are unhygienic, stale , alcoholic or disease-producing in of itself and are enjoyed by people all over the world.
I admire her for her success etc. but considering that for the last few decades we blame junk food for the rising obesity and metabolic diseases, her success puts health of the common man at stake. I personally don’t drink any soda, try to avoid all those junk food PepsiCo is selling. But this is what all management universities teach, how to sell their products. She is a prime product of that mba culture.

By your logic, companies selling alcohol should also be questioned. The key here is moderation and personal accountability. Excess of anything is bad. Too much of exercise may also turn fatal. Then do you start blaming fitness companies ?

Women's intelligence has been routinely disregarded and devalued throughout history, so she's saying it that way to give validation to women's intellect. Women constantly get pulled in multiple directions and end up taking a back seat due to high demands and lack of male allies at work and in general our society. A woman can be successful only when we have broad minded secure men who are willing to be their allies and support them. We don't see that happening and that's why this conversation hits home for so many women out there! If you had listened to the whole conversation she say diversity and inclusion are two different things. You are taking about diversity, I am taking about inclusive mindset!
