Bro, like i said on Facebook, i don't see how you can have soooo many videos and take the time out to help people! that's crazy!! People! Buy this man a cup of coffee!!!
@@powermix24 Hydrasynth will happen, I promise because I have it. Behringer 2600, don't think so. It is not available in my country and the main dealer don't want to bring it. But....i will get a KORG Arp 2600, that could help.
Yeah, it is a great instrument. The guys at KORG really did a great job. KORG usually makes good sounding instruments, then problem is build quality as always.
@@XNBeatsMusic I don't care about build quality. The only thing that matters is the SOUND. These days people get hung up on the wrong things. Not enough effects. Or keys are too small. Not enough onboard memory. It's priced £100 too high. Some nonsense. The only thing that matters is the raw sound and versatility of the instrument. And how it effects the listener. Instruments like the Yamaha REFACE CS. Korg Microsampler. And now the Korg opsix. Are sonically AMAZING. Any technical shortcomings can he forgiven. As soon as you hear what they can do sonically.
Yes Opsix is endless créative instrument. Regarding Yamaha well they do better with MODX and Montage in term of complexity (8 operators ) and sound with 128 polyphonie and it sound really much better but the interface if not that simple even if Superknob and SmartMorph are great modern tools
I found this video very helpful and appreciate the time you spent making it. Indeed you deserve every coffee you get bought by grateful followers of your work. I will have more confidence with using the Sequencer, which was thoroughly gone into by you. I was thinking that being able to alter the pitches of notes by micro tones other than just semi tones would give some wonderfully interesting results. I guess the opsix does not have this facility. Does any other synth enable this micro tone adjustments? Certainly would be fun to play with. Muchas gracias.
You say, 'modern synthesizers are super quiet' and at the same time the USB has a ground loop. LOL 😆 Anyway, thanks for the great tutorial, I think you've did the best tutorial for OPSIX sequencer. Keep it up man!
Thanks !!! Well, it's my connection. Got tons of gear, lights, camera, 2 PC's connected at once, 3 monitors, Digital is supposed to be quiet, but not always.
@@XNBeatsMusic Yes. But I think there is no such thing as "super quite" in hardware units (at least for now). People in 30 years from now will say that such USB ground loop noise is actually a vintage tone of this era. And they will try to reproduce it with their modern tools :))) That's what I meant :)
again another 15 patches, while i follow this one. This is the most amazing synth I ever had. it's not like the Volca, it's not like the native version, I just took the step because I believed this one is the best bang for the buck, and I'm totally in love with it. i do have to say, I know what to do to make it sound the way I want, that has a lot to do with it. In my opinion, sounds better than the Hydra. to make sounds, synth sounds, and riffs and rhythms and progressions, they say only 16 steps but if you set that on 1/4 or what ever and the n the arp, with motion and virtual patches on top, man, massive. you didn't show it, but you can invert chords on the sequencer. seq util, note invrt full and select the other half, yes :)
Nice in-depth tutorial, mate 👍This awesome machine is little by little getting the attention it deserves (htough probably not by the manufacturer😢). I recently made sure I have got one myself 😁😁
Seems like 40 years after FM-Synthesis was developed, it's still to advanced. many judge the Opsix by how equally sounding it loads the dx7 presets. alternate waveforms, user algorithms and modes mean nothing to them.
@@hermask815 Yeah, the venerable DX7 is the golden reference (and by no means undeservedly!) But take an opsix and use nothing but its extensive waveform selection beyond the traditional sine in FM operator mode for both carriers and modulators and the KORG will soundwise surpass the Yamaha original by lengths. »Altered FM Synthesizer« is probably one of KORG's most modest understatements, although it technically definitely applies to the opsix. I like this beast 💕
@@m1nnefr3d I’ve started my FM journey on the iOS synth FM4 which is a recreation of the Yamaha tx81z. It has a small set of other waveforms. That’s why didn’t chose reface dx,Megafm, nor digitone as my first hardware synth.
Thanks for the tutorial. I'm wondering if there is a way to latch a chord in its entirety, not in a step sequence of the notes in the chord?. Meaning, is it possible to play a chord, release the keys with the chord still playing ?. Hope that makes sense, Thanks.
How did you get this monitor screen at 51:30? I’ve seen it on another video about Opsix but I’m wondering how to get it. By the way it’s great tutorial, thank you
Hello !! Thanks :) Yes, I will create a few doing sound design. First I am going to take a few days brake. Creating all of this guides takes a lot of time, so I am a little burned out. Just a few days of doing something else will fix it. But yes, these videos are like the theory now I need to record the practice.
im tired of having to wait for the metronome loop to come back around to start recording on the 1. is there a way to launch live recording when pressing on the keys?
I would love to make a ModWave, but I could not get it at a good price. And have no cash for any new gear. But If I get a good discount and the time is right, I'll get one and deep dive it for sure.
@@XNBeatsMusic I own the MWI. I've been monitoring the prices of the module. The MWII module is higher priced than the MWII keyboard version at the moment. That's odd. I do expect the prices to drop a bit. They aren't available in the Dutch market yet.
@@Lordxfx I never understood why a module is more expensive than the KBD version. Isn't supposed to be cheaper to manufacture ? But no. It's seems it's more expensive..... look, Korg, Roland, etc do this all the time, introductory price "expensive", wait a few months and you get it 20% or 30% off. Look at the Gaia 2. www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Gaia2--roland-gaia-2-37-key-virtual-analog-wavetable-synthesizer 700 bucks, Ok. 900 is not the right price. Because the product was a failure. Not saying the synth it's bad, but I think the price tag is why the Gaia 2 failed.
@@XNBeatsMusic I know. Only one thing comes to mind. The expect to sell more modules. Some bright mind at Korg is making up for economic manifacturing loss of the keyboard versions. They're correcting their own release strategy mistakes over the backs of consumers. They should have included the modules at the launch of the MKI versions. Let us not even talk about the later released and heavily overpriced full keyboard versions. The sad thing is honesty, all three models are overpriced given what they are and how they're designed. (OpSix, ModWave, WaveState). Chips today are more powerfull then ever, and yet you get systems that perform less then those released two decades ago. A shame, a real shame.
Can you change length of each lane? For example 6 against 7? This would be very cool. Also if one could have different length for motion controls from note sequence. Is it possible on op6?
