@@JasonL77 it has been almost 5 years since my mom passed away. In the end she couldn't use this board, as she ended up in icu and died a short later. I also tried using a software called eviacam so she could control the "mouse" with head movements... I showed both systems to her and she was glad there were alternatives but I think she knew her time was short. By the way, she loved Jason's music (the softer songs), and loved his determination and courage, his and his family's. Thanks for asking!

Just amazing how his dad is so dedicated - he takes the board away at the end and can read via eye movement only, without looking at the board , hes done it so much ! I know guitarists who struggle to read written music, this is very endearing footage !

It is a great invent. Both Dad and son are genius. I am thinking that maybe you can make a study with other people who need this system and also with professionals in order to determine if there is better way to re-organize the letters and avoid the eyes get tired with the use of this system. I use the computerized ERICA system from Eye Gaze Technologies. Medicare pays for it. The Tobii system has better eye tracking but the hardware is underpowered. A friend uses the Dynavox but I haven't seen it.

@Welocy Do you know how Stephen Hawkings system works? check his website, he has to make entire sentences first - a cursor moves across words on the screen and when it gets to the one he wants he stops it with a button in his hand. Consider that this system is realtime, that Jason does use an eye scanning system to use computers, anyone in this condition really needs carers anway, its free, quick to learn, and ... that all human communication requires at least 2 people to operate successfully.
When Jason was spelling out the words, it almost seemed like he only made one eye movement for each letter, not two. I tried to follow but just couldn't!
