I had never really cared much for this etude, but something about it really caught me after listening to your interpretation. I broke out my copy of the sheet music the next day, and I’ve *really* been getting immersed in it now that I’ve given it an honest try. As others have said, having the video of your playing alongside the sheet music offers something I realize I haven’t seen much anywhere else. It really helps me understand the pieces you play, and gives me a much better sense of whether a piece would be worth picking up myself.
It’s so well interpreted. The only thing I don’t understand is the usage of the damper pedal when playing a staccato. It does mention it on the sheet music. It is because we really need it on the left hand, so we let go of the clean staccato on the right with the pedal. The usage of the pedal while playing staccato has always been a mystery to me.
Cool!! There were a couple moments where I was thinking, "I don't remember it doing THAT," then I'd look at your handy follow-along score and BAM! There it was. You make playing and interpreting difficult piano pieces look really easy.
@@mayamilevska6547 it’s not easy at all, it’s just easy relative to the other Chopin etudes. Definitely one of the most accessible Chopin etudes out there
@@mayamilevska6547once you get used to the circular motion of the wrist you will find it way easier. The polyrhythms are not the hardest from Chopin but still tricky
@@lightofamphy6764I find it quite easy to read and trust me I've tried lots of Chopin etudes. The only etude I'm kind of coping with is the op 10 no 3 and it's hard.
Question: The tempo this is commonly played at seems (is) excessive given the mm markings Chopin instilled in the piece. Is this pace perhaps normalised because speed is supposed to showcase skill? Playing it within the mm, even at the top of 139ish, produces a much more coherant sound. Anyone else notice this? EDIT: I love Anniques playing and it is so crisp as to be unencumbered by clarity issues 😊
Hi Annique!
It’s beautiful, I think dynamics could be slightly improved. I couldn’t feel the sudden soft parts and loud parts in the middle. I think it would be add some presence and emotions to the piece. I couldn’t feel the fortissimo part. Hopefully this is helpful for you to give the unbelievable performance that you want at your exam. Amazing technique though, very impressive!
I suggest you to... play more "Allegro, molto agitato" at the beginning (imo) and especially agitato like a storm or something, it makes a diff mood for those who listen and i think its better if u put a lil bit more pedal , same, at the beginning. However, u play so beautiful and especially the waltz op 34 no 1 and more. Good luck in ur future career ^^
Annique, i have a challenge for you! 1 minute, 10 minutes, 1 hour challenge on Debussy's "Pagodes". P. S. I'm studying it rn so that's why i recommended it lol😅
Definitely one of the most underrated and beautiful etudes
Agreed!
its my favourite.
I'm learning it now it's so beautiful!❤
Your performances are always so inspiring! I hope one day I can be a brilliant pianist just like you! ❤️
I feel same😁

i feel the same way
Why did you have to say all these now
Beautiful performance. The interpretation is superb❤
I played this in one of my exam, the ending is so beautiful and poetic
Your subtle use of a gentle rubato throughout this piece is extremely expressive and very tastefully executed. Well done!

One thing's for sure: this rocks much more than AC/DC!
Yes! My favorite, widely underrated, etude

I found this piece incredibly challenging! I should pull it out again and work on it some more! Well done :)

Could you please do 1 min, 10 mins, 1 hour challenge with Chopin's waltz op 64 No. 2 in C-Sharp minor? That would be great!!!
AmAAAAzing! The contrast between the loud (ff) and the quiet (p) parts can be more exaggerating 😁😁
I'm absolutely in love with this woman.
Einfach schön!
Wie ich diese Etude liebe. Eine sehr schöne Interpretation von dir.
Excellent performance
So lovely, thank you.
😃WOW Amazing!!! well done. Great performance. Thank you for sharing this wonderful music. 👈👈👈👍

素晴らしかったです。
THIS ETUDE IS SO HARD I REGRET STARTING WITH IT you play it so good though:)

Love this video! Can you make more videos like this please?
Love the AC DC shirt.
❤️👏🏻✨
amamzing.
from which side did you buy the chair? I like it. +Congratulations, you play this etude very beautifully :)
Lovely
Great Annique
Belíssimo
Beautiful, thank you. The AC/DC shirt is the perfect dress. Do you think Chopin would like AC/DC? 🙃

5 against 6 like it was the most natural thing in the world 🤩🤯
5 against 4, should be.
very nice performance and video

Does anyone else think that the middle part of these etude and Liszt T.E. no.10 sound so similar?
Yeah, especially the high, fast repeated octaves in the right hand

P. S. I'm studying it rn so that's why i recommended it lol😅
Great performance! Does this etude hurt your left hand by any chance due to all the left pinky extensions?
i have been practicing the etude for about 2 weeks and i haven't got any harm from it. it might be harder for people with small hands though
Yes instead of stretching the hand I have to jump my pinky to the thumb key 🙃
My vote goes to the flyer 2/2.
its ok
Let's get some AC/DC covers on piano!
