There’s a lot of good here, but to be honest it feels like they’ve learned nothing over 3+ years of development. The game is atrociously optimized, and I’ve been told rockets with 100 parts or more on recommended specs run at virtually unplayable framerates. They can’t build onto this skeleton of a game until they fix the performance. Can you imagine how much worse it will be if they keep adding but don’t go back and optimize? I really hope they address this, but I’m not too confident they will at this point. Interestingly enough, the developers seem to be working on everything all at once. We have footage of the other solar systems, advanced parts, and some elements of multiplayer adaptations already (time passes in the VAB, Agencies, etc.) While much of this content is surely in its infancy, I’m concerned that we’ll end up with a stitched-together patchwork by release if the coming updates don’t have a stable foundation to work with. Given the KSP developers’ vain to nonexistent attempts to optimize the original game and now this one too, things are looking very bad for the future of this game.
They have mentioned multiple times that some significant optimization upgrades are in the pipeline. And remember, it only hurts their possible profit if it isn't optimized, they're missing out on a gigantic potential audience because they won't be able to run the game at a playable framerate if at all. If anything it's a priority for them as well in order to get the game accessible to as many people as possible.
I don't think it's too bad, especially because we know how great the game will be when it's fully out in 2-3 years. When you say "astronomical price" (nice play on words), I think 60-80 like what some newer and mostly money hungry shit bag developers try to charge but right now I think 50 is good if not on the slightly higher side (at least it's more palleshed than the release of cyberpunk and better priced then baldur's gate 3. I think part of the price is potentially and supporting the development, kinda with it was advertised like that but hey, at least we get it after so long waiting). EDIT: I do agree that some of the reviews are reasonable and that it's best to judge what you have, not what is promised, but still think the pricing is reasonable if not slightly high, in today's "market" I think it's still good, especially with any delays covid may have cause increasing the price for production and comparison to others on the market today
£45 now for something I'm going to play for hundreds of hours whilst they update it continuously is fine with me 😀 Or I could wait for 12 months until its fully released and still pay £45 then - but then that means I miss out on 12 months of fun with it. Each to their own, but I see the value personally.
Idk man it does have its flaws now but it’s already come some ways over the last couple days it seems like for me atleast. Stray was 29.99 but only like 5 hours long. I already have 15 hours in this game so idk if that says anything. I say it’s worth it if you’re into sandbox building games like gmod, look past it’s flaws and hopefully see what it will hopefully become over time. 🙏🙏

For a game that is £44.99 RRP, it feels more like a £24.99 game. I'm not saying it's bad, I want to play this, and I love building rockets, but this game isn't a high enough quality to be sold at £44.99.

Consider how rubbish it would've been if not delayed. Most things they showed were in-engine but little actual gameplay. Just don't buy it unless they fix it, at the moment ksp 1 + mods runs better, looks just as good if not better than ksp 2, and can have more content that ksp 2.
