I'm sure most know this already but the character was a reference to "Glen or Glenda", a film made by filmmaker Ed Wood in the 1950s. It was a docudrama about transvestism and Ed Wood, himself, was a cross dresser.
He's also the thin mustache man
@theepoch1354 That is John Waters' "The Pope of Trash". Ed Wood died in 1978.
@@theepoch1354-He and John Waters both have thinner mustaches, but Waters is playing “Peter Peters” in this film.
That's a good information! Thanks. I didn't know that.
Sounds gay
it's a sad state of affairs when John Waters isn't recognized
Just because we don’t say his name doesn’t mean we don’t recognize him. We were just commenting on his mustache. 🤣
Saw this movie in theaters when I was about 9 or 10 years old…with my mom, let that sink in…now imagine any parents face when a 9 or 10 year old son turns to her in the car after the movie, and says “Mom, what was the turkey baster for?” …it was PRICELESS looking back lmfao.
Such 🧢
it's still cool that Jennifer decided to mock herself, you can tell she had a lot of fun during the film
That’s how you know she’s so down to clown I love her
The original script was considered too harsh even though Jennifer signed off and thought it was funny, the studio told Don Mancini to dial it back a little
Problem is Tiffany just becomes an unfunny meta "I can't tell if I'm Tiffany or Jennifer Tilly" joke for the rest of the series.
@@Xehanort10 I love Jennifer Tilly! Why? Because she's famous!
At 7:54 when you mentioned Chucky wasn’t made in Japan. That wasn’t a continuity error.
In Bride of Chucky, Tiffany mixed him with different doll limbs to fix him. One of the limbs were most likely from a doll made in China.
seed of chucky is the gift that keeps on giving
Don’t you try to spread this evil onto others. 😂😂😂👍🏾👍🏾
They should have get drunk the whole time 😅
Indeed it is.
YOU GET IT
@@jenny_lee_87yea sure
Mrs.movies looks like she would love to drink some nasty spirit while stuck watching a crap movie from a franchise she constantly says she don't like. Most ppl need a proper atmosphere to want to drink. At home watching a movie that makes her sleepy. Not to mention the little ones in the house as well. Also doesn't look like a drinker. Wouldn't be shocked if they were straight edge.
The "Made in Japan" thing for Chucky isn't Ia continuity error. When Tiffany out Chucky back together she used parts from other random dolls, there's a scene showing the hand specifically where she's looking at it.
Ok, everyone, let them know that when you watch the Curse of Chucky and The Cult of Chucky, you have to watch the end credit scenes on both!!!! Even if you have to RUclips them after words and add it to your reaction!
PLEASE READ!!!👆
as someone that watched the Chucky TV series and never saw this movie....i can promise that there are things in the show that make this one worth watching.
The worst kinda reactor are the ones who are not shy about announcing how bored they are throughout the movie!
The voice actor for Glenn/Glenda, Billy Boyd, is arguably best known for his role in the LOTR trilogy
He sounded like Russell Brand
Glenda is pippin?? Oh my god, I had no idea. It’s so obvious now!
Brad Dourif Chucky also is in the LOTR ✊👊✨
Huh! What do you mean you weren't entertained haha you guys were genuinely smiling and laughing throughout the whole movie haha!
I thought the same but it is the worst of the franchise lol but even the worse I appreciate it
Mr. was the one who was smiling and laughing throughout the whole movie.
At least Mr looked like he was having fun watching this.
Yup, somebody didn't let me down!
Another Fun Fact: Jennifer Tilly's assistant, the onevwhonresemble BBy Spice, is also a UK pop star. She's in a group that was known as S Club 7. They even had their own TV show for a time.
I hope you guys do all of the movies and go into the Chucky series as well
I would hate to put Mrs movies through the series. Its clear she did not like this vibe.
They just did the whole series, this was the latest one.
@@redoz9768 This isn’t the last one… There is also Curse of Chucky and Cult of Chucky after this, as well as three seasons of the Chucky tv show. Not to mention the Remake.
@@LilithsLove89true
@@LilithsLove89 yes, they have watched them in sequence so far, wonder if they'll wait until October 2024 to watch the rest?
Curse of Chucky is a MAJOR upgrade, don't worry and Curse is one of my two favorites :).
I don't care what others think of this movie. It has its flaws but the meta-Hollywood jokes, nod to "Glen or Glenda", and cameo from the legendary John Waters make this a bunch of campy fun for me. It doesn't take itself seriously and just seems like they were like, "Fuck it, we're just having fun with this one. Let's go crazy. Let's get weird." This was definitely more focused towards the humor of John Waters fans...and I appreciate that.
The next two movies lean back into the horror and are solid entries themselves with a new protagonist taking them on.
I loved the different direction they took into making a comedy foward depiction of Chucky, I think it worked well with where the story was at. But don't worry Chucky turns up the dark scary tones again right after this in Curse of Chucky!
I love this movie and I honestly like Tiffany more than I do chucky, I'm happy she's become just as important to this franchise
baffled stare followed by "are you just sexist?" Was comedy gold
Trust me when i say this, the next movie is actually a great movie. It goes back to darker roots
7:52 I think this is here because in the last movie, Tiffany used some extra doll parts to fix up Chucky.
The guy who gets his head cut off is the real life special FX supervisor for the Chucky movies Tony Gardner.
No one recognizing John Waters? Sad.
Even making fun of his iconic mustache. :(
Mr. Movies making Britney references is something I didn't know I needed in my life.
Oops, I did it again!
Seed of Chucky is a guilty pleasure of mine. I love it. The next movie DOES go back to it's horror roots and its amazing, probably my favorite.
33:14 ...
We can feel your pain Mrs Movies 😅😂👍
Having John Waters in this brings all the camp
Gigis not ugly 😢😂❤
Are you guys watching the tv show? I actually recommend it. Warning that season 2 is basically a continuation of Seed but season 3 has been pretty good so far!
Actually season 2 is a continuation of the NEXT Chucky movie. Considering who's IN the show and what the next movie is about. It doesn't continue this movie there are simply callbacks to this one.
@@patrickcromwell7554 if you wanna get technical, it’s a continuation of the movie after the next one, actually. I just meant whereas season one is a continuation of the franchise story and obviously so isn’t season 2, season 2 tries it’s best to close a lot of the threads left open by Seed, which is probably why we won’t see a certain character in season 3 at all. They only pop in when the story gets whacky and Seed-like.
I agree that season 2 is the worst, but overall the show has been lackluster. The main characters have no development besides maybe the girl somewhat, but the two boys with the forced gay relationship.. not my thing.
“When was this movie made?” yeah this film was pretty ahead of its time
Stop lying Mrs. It wasn't boring 😂😂
Hated this one when it first came out, but came to love it.
05:13 Don't know why this made me laugh so hard.
38:27 you can literally say that about every killer
Especially Micheal myers and scream
Seed Of Chucky is ridiculous, but we all just had to watch to find out how it was possible. 😂After all these years I just realized that Chucky's son looks like 1970's David Bowie- "ziggy stardust" era
yeah Seed of Chucky is ok if you're in the mood for some comedic horror that's just plain silly, but I would definitely say that it's the weakest in the series. I remember seeing it in theatres and you could hear nearly the entire audience grumbling in disappointment. A lot of "that sucked", "that was plain awful", and "that was dumb/stupid" comments rang throughout. So just from my experiences being around other people while watching it, it doesn't seem to very popular with a lot of people but curse definitely brings it back to its horror roots can’t wait for that one hopefully.
It’s just as bad as the Halloween Resurrection Movies after seed of chucky I sorta lost interest until curse had came around so I agree with you on that
For me the weakest in the series is Cult. Doesn’t really do much for me and the doll looks terrible.
@@montyhux9757 yeah i didn’t like the whole multiple thing going on thought it was stupid i know they wanted to do it in CP3 but they didn’t have the budget to do so
The same people probably loved paranormal activity.
22:26 It's the wife of the cop she killed at the start of Bride.
Jennifer Tilly wanted to have a lot more self degrading jokes towards herself until the studio cut back on it because it was already a lot in there in the final product.
Actually if you remember in bride Tiffany stitched chucky up from different dolls I’ve seen it a million times I never seen the “ made in Japan” after she stitched him up but it’s just assumed the audience would figure it out.
Chucky as a whole franchise is camp, like... we're talking about a killer doll. The first 3 movies are more on the scary side, the next two are way more camp, but still have some scary touches. The next ones are, for me, a perfect mix of both, scary, but camp.
14:49 Mrs. is right, Joan is writing fake fanmail there 😂
Rogue Pictures was a subsidiary of Focus Features, which is itself the independent arm of Universal. Rogue followed in the footsteps of Miramax's Dimension Films, as a way for the company to produce genre films without the risk of tarnishing their indie/prestige cred.
I was 12 years old when this movie came out (complete nerd and knew nothing of adult content) and I watched this movie with my aunt on DVD and she started yelling at me hardcore when the scene of Chucky doing his business in the bathroom happened and I had no idea what I was being yelled at for.🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love this movie, man. So many childhood memories.
His reaction to her answer made me laugh so hard, about who's the good parent😂😂 1:33
6:48
OMG Is That Tony Gardner?
Seed is a huuuggeee guilty pleasure of mine! always interested to see which side of the fence people land on with this one. One things for sure, it’s not as bad as Freddy’s Dead!
It’s almost there though. It really felt like they let meta take over for being smart and witty. It’s not the worst but that’s only because of how horribly terrible Freddy’s Dead truly is! And I’m a diehard NOES fan. But that movie makes it embarrassing. This isn’t that. But it’s definitely on Final Destination 4 levels. If Curse wasn’t so good Chucky would have probably died here because of this movie. For many it did. Not me tho.
@@B-Dad for me, Seed knows it’s bad and plays into it. It wanted to be a bad movie, so I can’t fault it for that. However when I watch Freddy’s Dead, I never get the sense that they were TRYING to make a bad movie… it just turned out that way. Probably too many cooks in the kitchen. So for me it loses a few points because… it’s just bad. I always skip it. I never skip Seed cause I can at least laugh along with it. I agree with your Curse point though, Seed definitely killed Chucky for general audiences. Honestly hoping they leave every character except Chucky and Andy in the TV show for the last few movies. I want it to end with JUST them, no one else.
Glenn/Glenda sure does look like David Bowie.
34:45 the mrs is so pretty with her hair like that :) her teeth are so straight now
This movie is amazing. I said what I said!
No she's right she was making fan mail for Jennifer Tilly lol.
The look on Mrs Movies face with the karate scene and music. That was priceless! Loved it!
"When was this movie made?"
Right? A Chucky-movie of all things managed to nail...whatever what's happening now should be called...some 15 years ahead of time.
Well, he enjoy the movie!! This movie is my guilty pleasure lmaoo
How dare you guys insult Jon waters and his mustache
They should have to watch all the John Waters movies for that . I’m looking for my “Smell-O-Rama” cards from “Polyester” (1981) to send them . ‘Female Trouble”(1974) and “Dangerous Living” 1977… pretty please ? 🎥🎞👍
Thank you for saying that. Continuity error. A friend of mine and I were thinking of that word for a week lmao
*when jordan peterson finds out you havent seen Pinocchio...* lets just stay, youll wana stay off twitter for a few days. _JC
Curse of Chucky is pretty good, I think it's my favorite of the series.
Thank you for the reactions to my favorite franchise!! ❤ Thanks for even for the good times on this channel! Y’all are THE GREATEST! Question, will y’all be reacting to the tv series “Chucky” after the films or no?
What is your favorite chucky movie ?
@TweetieAshton not this one. Missus started to lose it at "Trans agenda" lolz
@@NotUrBlkCrschnAntiGayMissile i feel like my favorite one is bride of chucky.
I would say it’s a tie between Child’s Play 2 & Bride of Chucky!
@@Abbysthename9 2,was a good one.
I love this movie!! ❤ And I love Glen/ Glenda 😂
Fun, ive never watched a live before!
Having John Waters play the creepy Paparazzi character in this puts the movie on a whole other level of "Meta". If you have ever watched a John Waters flick you would get his part in this movie on such a deeper level. His mustache has been like that since the 70's. You should check out some John Waters movies.
when i went to see this, i got stood up for a date. so i was already bummed out. and then i thought the movie was stupid. it was a bad time.
and then after i saw the movie...my date shows up with her female cousin. so at that point I just go home. They really thought I was going to buy both of them lunch lol.
I was still in high school at this point.
She hasn't seen Pinocchio?! You should definitely add Pinocchio by Guillermo del Toro to the list!!!
I did a binge watch of all the chucky movies last year with my dad and my brother, and seed of Chucky has to be my favorite. This is not a guilty pleasure for I feel no guilt while watching it.
love this movie and how intentionally and delightfully absurd it is, my fave of the franchise!
Oh shiit, i completly forgot that there is legendary John Waters in role of weird paparazzi 😆
I love this movie. Lucky me.
John Waters is the guy with the thin mustache. That’s his signature look. He is known for the midnight movies. The characters that everyone looks down on…the weird, different people
Rougue is was the horror production part of Universal Studios in the early 2000s. This movie is a very cheesy but is fixed in the tv shows second season.
I want to see Mrs. Movies react to Pinocchio.
All women know about the part of Pinocchio’s nose growing.
Oh man you gotta watch Pinocchio. One of my disney classic favorites. Love how they referenced Pinocchio in Seed of Chucky. Awsome
You guys should watch Stephen kings Cujo
Ohhhh this is the one with Hannah Spearit!.
SssssClubbb!, ain’t no party like an S-Club party!.
If you know, you know….
(For those that don’t, Hannah was part of the British pop group S-Club 7 in the 90’s)
Whoever said this movie was boring is boring themselves boom!
Seed is my favorite one actually. I've heard a bunch of complaints about it but never that it was boring so that was a first. Lol. And i nev3r thought Glen/Glenda was that ugly, just thought the doll version of them looked like David Bowie lol. And maybe someones mentioned it but i think they originally wanted Quinton Tarantino to play Redman's part and that didnt happen but Redman seemed pretty happy to be a part of it and who can blame him.
Yes as is a sarcy
Movie 1:23
It’s one to watch as a background movie. Curse is my fave.
I think the problem with this movie is that there's actually too much Chucky. The human element gets lost.
This was Don Mancini’s (the writer for the child’s play films) first film he officially directed.
It’s always nice to watch a reaction from you two! (even when the reaction is looking away sometimes or voicing that you‘re bored with a movie, if that’s how you feel) You guys are my favorite and the most interesting reactors. Love the humor, her intuitive energy is great and your way of thinking and how you‘re able to piece it together most of the time rocks. You are complementing each other perfectly. I don’t understand how some people feel personally attacked by someone having a different opinion on a movie. Must be very difficult to exist in our world for them lol
Thank you Vanessa!
I get that this may not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you have just the right sense of humor, this movie is fantastic. Before my friend dragged me to the theater to see this, I'd only ever seen the first Child's Play, which I enjoyed but never really fell in love with.
Seed of Chucky is the movie that really got me into the series. It's just so bizarre, weird and campy in all the best ways.
The next two movies really bring back more of the horror element and, despite going straight to video, are two of the best in the series. In terms of horror, I'd argue that Curse of Chucky is probably the scariest film of the franchise.
When you get to those, make sure to stick around for the post-credit scenes.
Y'all were discussing in the live chat how Glen/Glenda shouldn't have that Made in Japan mark and couldn't have gotten it from Chucky, but maybe the bride doll that ends up becoming Tiffany was made in Japan...
Well Chucky specifically shows his made in Japan mark on his wrist. So the move implies that Glen got that from Chucky
@@YouMeTheMovies Damn, I forgot about that part.
Maybe when Tiffany was putting Chucky back together she was missing an arm and had to substitute a Japanese one? Or maybe it's just bad writing.
Either way I enjoyed y'all's reaction to it. Poor Mrs., she's almost done...
@@misscryptoria I’m pretty sure the doll that Tiffany puts back together is the doll Chucky buried under the swing in CP2. His face was split down the middle the same. So I’m sure they got that doll from the local factory/stores.
@@YouMeTheMovies The Chucky doll that shows the mark was a special effect made for the fictional movie within Seed of Chucky, it's not an original Good Guy doll.
@@JDelwynn I’m aware that he’s a movie prop. The movie still implies that he’s made in Japan based on Chuckys awareness of the stamp and how that means Glen is his. It’s safe to assume the movie prop crew would make it accurate to the dolls that are in evidence for the crimes.
You two have got to watch Snowpiercer!!
So this movie is crazy, very meta. It's like reality TV but with the Chucky/Tiffany/family plot it had going on. I somehow don't dislike more than the 3rd one 😂
They used practical effects for the paparazzi kill and the beheading one, which I think is cool. That and that it's apparently a little "ahead of the times" despite being a franchise about KILLER DOLLS is funny.
Seed is definitely the least scary of the Chucky movies, but the next one (Curse of Chucky) sort of brings that aspect back. Has Brad Dourif's daughter introduced to the franchise as a great character.
CANT. WAIT!
I can't wait for this one 😍
Severely underrated movie, definitely one of my favorites in the franchise 🥰
20:35 You don't know who John Waters is?
Don’t worry! The next one is far better!
Would love a spinoff with Glenda. She's definitely her father's daughter 😂
TIffany was talking on the phone to the wife of that cop she killed in her first appearance at the beginning of Bride of Chucky.
The next one is really good surprisingly
The next one is decent. The last one is fantastic.
I laughed so much the first time I watched this movie.
This Chucky is so awesome😂
If this was a serious Horror movie like the first 4, Glen would scare me like this scene did 4:26 😂
MGM produced the first movie. 2, 3, bride, curse, and cult are all universal
Guess they don’t know who John Waters is?…
I forgot Hannah Spearritt was in this it's been a while she was a British singer who was in pop group S club 7 and she was in tv show primeval
