It’s July 2024 and this song alone is one of my favorite All Stars songs Ever !! it’s so underrated also with So Long that one was sooo sweet. So Long made me an All Stars Fan in 2019. it’s not a day that pass i don’t listen to the two of them. God thank you for All Stars and most importantly Pan.
This band never fails to impress. Beyond any doubt the true spirit of carnival is reflected in this performance, stayed true to the original music, no issue following along and for me pan playing artistry like no other. This is why most other steel bands fear Allstars the most on a finals night. Truly great performance!
Leon Smooth Edwards is a national treasure and deserves recognition as an icon and shaper of our musical landscape. To terrorize 3 generations of Arrangers for over 40 years is mind boggling
The music is so beautiful it is like food for the soul (you can't help but come back and listen again and again). Smooth is ahead of his time--only when you hear his work in hind-sight you can fully appreciate the sheer brilliance. Like a prodigious sculptor he chisels away at the piece and on final night the caterpillar has blossomed into a rare and spectacular butterfly.
I felt like listening to some pan in July 2022. I listened to BP renegades and switched after a few minutes, then I listened to All Stars, right to the very end, absolutely brilliant! Had me wanting to get off my feet and jump up a few times lol! That's what it's about. I read the comments and was surprised that they didn't win Panorama after this performance in 2020. I went and listened to Desperadoes...ok, it didn't make me feel like I wanted to get off my feet at all. All Stars should have won that all day long!

We are all fortunate to have had Trinidad Carnival and Panorama to hear this masterpiece, Smooth and All Stars are really the final night band with the tempo and showmanship to captivate the listening and viewing audience #1 on the night by far. Congratulation to All Stars. You just had to be there.

Well look how TASSO walk out with a whole new sound and attitude for finals. Smooth continues his tenure as the chief surgeon of steel pan. Outstanding refinement on this final rendition! Would have personally preferred a rolling end for resonance but overall this was above and beyond fantastic. Bravo!

This is great, but Zanda pull on heart strings with his arrangement. You can hear Nailah singing in Zanda's arrangement. Love that both bands honored the great Ras Shorty!
I hear you but Despers ain't put water in meh eye like All Stars just did. Chalkdust was right when he wrote "You Can't Judge Culture"! Every band's performance on finals night was good enough to win. It all boils down to the musical taste of the judges......mostly!!!

Despers arrangement was more cohesive than All Stars, and felt like if Nailah was singing the song on stage. Both bands are finals' night bands with All Stars giving you the Spirit of Carnival and Despers giving you Sweet Music for Soul. To the public at large Despers had the edge this year. Bravo to Nailah for having 1st and 2nd wins in the panorama. More Sokah!!!!!!!!!!!
Most evident is that vintage single pan style two note rhythm ... Dee dum Dee dum.... usual mid pans on autopilot. .... strong voicing pans... Always a final night performer never to be counted OUT .... Top 4 performance ....... Despers... Renegades tied All Stars .....Phase 11....... Invaders has been consistent within recent times ...

I'll admit that I'm not an All Stars fan, but what Smooth did to THIS piece of music here was WONDERFUL. The BACKGROUND was put to WORK boi...I think that is what put them over the top. Respect
BOO HOO Judges, you stink! That's it I quit looking at judging. ALL STARS are the best! Renegades are doing superb as well. Desperadoes is not a winner. Despers version sounded like crap and a bundle of confusion. But, hey ALL STARS fans know deep down in their hearts who is the winner, and its sure not Despers. The order should have been ALL STARS, Renegades, and perhaps Invaders. I truly believe that the judges suffer from a bad case of hearing loss and/or tinnitus.
