Glad the Player series has moved back to Jazzmaster pickups instead of the Humbuckers they put in the last incarnation of the Player Series. The Strat/Tele style 4 way switch gives that extra dimension it needs with the omission of the rhythm curcuit. Nice take 👍👍👍
I wish they had one in surf green, seafoam green or Daphne Blue. I like the idea of the series and parallel options and the price is extremely attractive!
I got the shell pink one and I absolutely love it. Besides the stock bridge it comes with. Which really isn’t that big of a deal. But overall it’s one of best guitars I’ve ever played. So versatile. Can play just about any type of music you can think of and feels brilliantly while holding/playing it. Nothing quite like a Jazzmaster
@@iwanjoness had it done professionally, if you got the same one in this video I'd suggest the same. First person I took it to wouldn't even do it because you have to drill into the body to route it.

Raul Trujillo thomann has the gray version of this, but that one has different pickups and bridge. you can get a shell pink squier jazzmaster (which has a nicer bridge, but a regular headstock) from andertons, and wire the rhythm switch for series. sunburst just sucks. But yeah, these are cool options but you can get something close (and maybe even nicer and cheaper) if youre willing to do a little bit of work
Oleg Ustimenko hey, are you sure that they’re not the pure vintage ‘65 pickups? I will go next week to check a european ice-blue metallic one that Thomann sold for a guy who is now selling it used. I’ve found a few information about this guitar... the specs on Fender’s page says that those pickups are Vintage ‘65s like these guitars in the video but on the picture those are look like the JM hot pickups...
I want the Ice Blue version but its sold out. Says they'll be back in February so I will wait. I love the switch options for parallel and series over the Rhythm switch and the fact they are routed so someone can swap a loaded pickguard if they want the traditional setup. I just wish it came with mustang saddles. I had a 90s Japanese Jazzmaster that I sold in 2001 that I regret. I loved the way it sounded and played but I had to set it up with a shim for a little backbow to avoid rattling or slipping out of saddles. I wasn't in love with the color either (candy apple red) I got so sick of making adjustments between string changes that I sold it for a few hundred dollars and bought an SG. Still have the SG and love it but I have missed that Jazzmaster sparkle ever since and the prices for them seem to be high. The price of these ones seems very reasonable and I can buy a Mustang bridge or Graphtech saddles that have individual slots. Nothing sounds like a Jazzmaster, very crisp and chimey with loads of top end and unlike a Strat it sounds just as good with overdrive and distortion.
Why is the gap between the bridge and the whammy bar on this one longer (and like the original) than the one on the normal player Jazzmasters? The player Jazzmasters shortened them so the break angle at the bridge is better so why undo that again? Is there a different bridge on this one?
It’s more akin to a traditional Jazzmaster. The player and classic player lines have a shorter break angle which reduces string vibration behind the bridge. A lot of folks like the harmonic overtones of the traditional models.
These are great, but someone tell me why, why! does fender still make some of their jazzmasters and jaguars with these terrible bridges? They have to know that everyone who buys one then has to go get a mustang bridge or something else that will work. Blows my mind.
I like my HH JM just how it is, because I actually play jazz on it. Gonna take some better hosts to sell me on single coils, sorry... Srsly, these guys are awful
