That's my old Mac! So glad to see it get famous on RUclips. I paid $3K for it new. And thanks for all the nice things you said about me and my channel in the beginning. So glad I kept the boxes for it. I'm watching the video now and can't believe how much stuff I kept. It IS like brand new! Send in the card. There was a pen and pencil set that I kept. The gift might have been a magazine subscription. I don't think Myst came with it, but I could be wrong. It was a cool game. Modem attached via a SERIAL port! I'm pretty sure that was a custom desktop pattern I made. I think I had an external FM antenna for it; I'm surprised I didn't put it in the box. I used to play music on it from an iPad. I put this thing away when I packed to move in 2013 and had completely forgotten what was in the box. Watching this makes me wish I'd kept it -- although I have no idea what I'd do with it. Viewers who are Seinfeld fans and have sharp eyes may have noticed one of these on Jerry's desk for a few seasons. Look for it.
Thanks again for everything! Even if Myst didn't come with it, it's the perfect representative game of the time, and makes sense to go with it. I'll have to check...there may be an FM antenna...there are a few small gizmos/cards/adapters that I really didn't explore fully. And if all else fails, maybe I will break down and take a look in the manual. :-)
When I bought my TAM, it had the hump on the back, and I just assumed that’s how it was normally. But as you showed, it’s for expansion. I had no idea, haha. I just booted it up for the first time today. I have a lot to learn.
@Huxley Jay First of all ik that you‘re pretty much a bot to 99% but if you‘re not and you just doing advertising for a shady website. Why the fuck would you hack your gfs Insta
Always found those machines interesting. When I first saw a pic I thought it had a curved screen lol. I wonder how good the bass is from the Bose subwoofer and how it holds up after many years.
A homemade amateur video without a jump cut or a meme every 5 seconds? Someone who talks normally and not like he had a tablespoon of sugar every minute? Sign me up! Seriously, that looked like a cool Mac advanced for its time and an early predecessor to the iMac today. It sounds like the audio was pretty good too compared to computers in the time.
18:41 that is called Kensington lock, you can use that lock and install it under the table (that can help you secure from the risk of someone stealing it)
LOL @ 25:25 a $8000 Radio, that is so Apple BTW, I have an a PowerMac 6500 /300 Mhz 128MB of Ram, 40GB HD and it's has almost the same features (same remote control, Super Video in/out, TV and Radio tuner) I installed OS 9.2.2 and Mac OS X 10.1.5 (thanks to XPostFacto3)
Very cool. Congratulations on acquiring such an awesome older computer. I've heard you can upgrade the TAM pretty extensively. I found one upgraded TAM on eBay with an SD card hard-drive "SSD" and a G3 processor upgrade.
Thank you for sharing this great find a 20th Anniversary Mac in outstanding condition. Over a ten year period, I wanted one of these so very bad. However, the price just always remained a bit to high. The mother board is the same as in an All-in-One 5400 Performa/Power Mac with a 601e processor which, was my very first Apple computer. While, my 5400 Power Mac died after about 6-years of daily use. Several years ago, I was able to replace it with an All-in-One 5500 Power Mac which, has the same form factor. After adding the Apple Video System card and Apple TV/FM radio card (and yes, it comes with a FM antenna) with the matching black remote control, it was as if my old system had come back to life. You asked what are some good uses for these vintage systems which support up to classic Mac OS 9.1. As a stand alone device they still work great using Apple Works 5, Microsoft Office 2001, Claris Impact 2, IBM's Via Voice, and there is even a version of iTunes that works. Plus in the United States with a Cable connection, they can also be used as a spare TV.
I guess the rear has an rf Ariel input, so yay! you can use the fm radio did the old os have a CD player? I'm sure windows had such a thing at the time
I'd love to own...even touch one of these, i can just imagine everyone crying about Opening something "collectable" Whats the point of it being collectible if we cant have a Little fun?
For some context, IBM's 1997 super computer, Deep Blue, had just over a gig of ram....... So nowhere near as powerful as an iPhone. The advances in semiconductor technology over the last twenty years has been crazy. In another twenty years we'll probably have quantum computing and AI that is bordering on sentient
bad design, bad keyboard, can't connect to anything, can't use SW not written especially for it - couldn't be more fitting for Apple product. Thanks for the video.
Imagine paying $7999 or heck, even $2999 for this ugly piece of cr*p in 1997 just for the iMac g3, which is superior in every conceivable way (except for maybe weight haha) to come out a year later for $1299... cool piece of history though for sure.

Hi Maria. I’m one of your chopper fans. Funny to bump into you here!
The 20th Anniversary Mac was also show in the first modern Batman Movie and was used by Alfred the butler.
It was on seinfeld desk only at season 9.
When I bought my TAM, it had the hump on the back, and I just assumed that’s how it was normally. But as you showed, it’s for expansion. I had no idea, haha.
I just booted it up for the first time today. I have a lot to learn.
Hah, that’s funny! I only knew it was for expansion because it came separate, otherwise I would have gotten the same impression as you!
Love it!
Hugh Jeffreys love ur vids

Man, I want one so bad, It would make a cool thing to play music on.
It is probably the first modern style pc.
Always found those machines interesting. When I first saw a pic I thought it had a curved screen lol. I wonder how good the bass is from the Bose subwoofer and how it holds up after many years.
The bass is insane! When I move in a few months I’m going to make it the permanent sound system for a room of the house and have an iPod to control it
That startup chime is so unique! Shame that it isn't compatible with most Macintosh models, this would've been really cool!
“Plays classic 90s games on a great sound system”
Me: I see your a man of culture

What an amazing machine

Weird! I've never seen the actual lock on a device though, usually just a port that you can connect the lock to
WHAT. A. BEAUTY!

Yes but you don’t have these speakers :-)
@@RDKLInc The CPU has his own subwoofer and the monitor has the speakers too ;)
Great querky Mac product - exceedingly unexciting video.

How much did it cost!!?!?!?
9:41 looks like a PCI card riser
Can it play mp3 disks? What audioplayer software is using?
That’s a SCSI port, much, much faster than parallel.

That desktop tower literally looks like a Coffee maker

It was made prior to his arrival, and when Steve showed up, he discontinued it.
NICE
Looks like it would come with 3 SeaShells
Wow so nice im new 👍😱
