“Because someone should care when a dragon disappears.” - Glory, The Hidden Kingdom. I absolutely love the parallels between Glory’s upbringing and the missing rainwings. It’s really poetic how Glory feels as though she’s half the dragon she could of been due to growing up in the cave, but instead it made her the only rainwing with the mindset and skills to save the missing dragons.
personally i prefer the "woh ive never seen anyone turn that colour red before" when she finds out magnificant will leave them there, witch is probs worse then not knowing where they are.
I think baby peril's "But I burnded it" it being the skywing egg, is very impactful. It shows that even when peril was little, she knew and somewhat valued other dragons inately. But when she looked to her mother figure, scarlet, she said not to care for their lives. Peril was never a monster on her own, even with her firescales, scarlet made her that way. That means peril doesnt have to be who scarlet or anyone else tells her.

There's enough buildup that it doesn't come out of nowhere, it's completely within Morrowseer's character to say it, and it doesn't come off like a "Gotcha! Didn't see that coming, did ya?" to the audience.
My favorite quote is from Tsunami from the lost heir. "Listen. I don't know if I'm supposed to be the next Seawing queen or not. Sometimes, I think Queen Coral is doing everything right. Other times... But I do know this. We can't fulfill the prophecy without Clay. He's our heart. We'd fall apart without him. I know you don't trust Mudwings. I know you follow orders. But this is about ending the war. Maybe you've thought nothing you ever did could bring peace or save the dragons you care about. But right now, you can make all the difference... Just give me the key." It really shows that when Tsunami tries, she can use her words and not fight to get what she wants. This scene is the highlight of the book for me, and the reason why Tsunami is my favorite character.
she proved to me with that quote that she'd be a good queen. not wanting power for its perks or prestige but for her tribe and her people. for Dazzling and Orchid among others. she's probably the best queen of any of the ten tribes and possibly one of a small group that could handle ruling two tribes fairly

All i can see around me, as far as the future unrolls, are slaves and soldiers" Honestly this was the most chilling Darkstalker quote for me. He says this when he thinks he`s alone, and its one of the few times he's being completly honest with himself about how alone and powerless he feels, because he's busy appearring as a glorious king on the outside to everyone else. But on the inside, he doesnt feel any close relationship to anyone anymore. Despite acting super friendly towards everyone, he isnt actually capable of seeing anyone else as a real friend (not like he used to be with Clearsight and Fathom). He's only able to see other dragons as tools and as lesser than him, thinking of them as merely his slaves and soldiers
One line from Wings of Fire I remember well is the opening line of the Winglet Deserter: Unlike most dragons, Six-Claws had a remarkably happy childhood. I think this line establishes a lot.

I just recently started re-reading the 3rd arc and the only thing I can remember so far is "Snuudooo" honestly, Bumblebee is adorable alongside Sundew - the best niece/Aunt duo.
One of my personal favorites is by Jambu, and even then it's the description of it. *a cloudy blue gray marched up from his talons. He made an almost comically sad face at her* "No sun?"
Willow and Sundew at the end of in The Poison Jungle: Sundew: "They ALL deserve my anger!" Willow: You Know they don't. There's a monster inside them. There's a monster leading them. If you scatter your anger around like dandelion seeds, you'll hurt everyone, tire yourself out, and end up with a bunch of indignant dandelions. But if you summon it all together and aim for the monsters, you'll win! I know you will, because you're Sundew. My forever dragon."
Also yes, quotes are awesome in this series. My favorite one for example, *clears throat and pushes up glasses* is the dragonets in the wingery when Scarlet, Chameleon, and Peril came to get Cliff. Oh my!…* gasping for air from laughing*
My most memorable quote was Morrowseer's reveal that the prophecy was fake: "Now there's no point - the NightWings are already in the rainforest, so we have no reason to join the war. It'll drag on endlessly, and more dragons will die every day, probably for generations. All of them wondering what happened to the amazing dragonets who were supposed to save them, but obviously failed"
I particularly like the speech Qibli gives to Winter in book 7, apparently on page 165, when they're searching for Hailstorm; "Stop, stop it. I see you going to the giving-up place in your head. Get yourself out of there right now. We do not know he is dead any more than we did an hour ago. What we have to do is keep searching, because he's only definitely dead if we give up and sit here like moping camels. You are not allowed to mourn until you see a dead body, do you understand me?"

You know that final quote about the magic actually made me think, maybe Animus magic doesn't drive a dragon crazy. Let's look at the examples, albatross is a major one, he wasn't treated very well, we don't know a lot about him but in the guide book we saw letters exchanged between him and the queen, she obviously didn't respect him at all and seemed to belittle him, stuff like that builds up, and who knows she could've done worse things we don't know about and he just snapped, there is only so much disrespect someone can take before they lose it. Maybe they only think the magic causes the dragon to go insane and that paranoia feeds into itself which could cause the Animus to question their own sanity, or the dragon could just be outright evil like darkstalker, the magic didn't make him that way that's just how he was born. The only flaw in this I can really immediately see if stonemover, he used his own magic to make it so his body turns to stone instead of losing his soul, but then again that stone seems to be progressing despite him not using magic as far as we know, so this could fall into that paranoia theory as well. What do you guys think? I'd love to hear if anyone agrees with this idea or if they may have a better explanation
I actually have two favorite quotes, one being said by whiteout on page 105 of Darkstalker - “Oh, I thought the marbles represented chaos theory and I was just another unpredictable whim of the universe. I did not intend to disrupt your faith in controllable outcomes,” and the other being thought by blue on page 165 of the lost continent- “He wrinkled his forehead, thinking about that. Did their injustice towards him mean that he’d be justified in hurting them?” which I think is a great quote because of how it questions morality.

Right there is when my favorite villain jumped into the rabbit hole and never came back out. Only a monster would do that to his own father.
One of my fav quotes (idk how it is exactly written) moon- should a dragon get punished for what they think even if they don’t act on it should they be punished I think it went something like that this is in book 7 when their just in the rainforest idk this just kinda hits like in a certain way because it shows how moon doesn’t really like spying on dragons thoughts and intern getting them in massive trouble she feels like it’s her responsibility if someone thinks something bad and that she can prevent it but should she if it’s only just a thought but thinking like that could get other dragons killed so she’s conflicted between these two thoughts of that she should do something about it or she shouldn’t
This isn’t exact, but near the end of ‘The Brightest Night’ Clay says: “I’d die to save you and Starflight over and over if I had to” and it’s probably one of my favourite quotes of the whole series

The two quotes that came to mind first was said by Winter in Winter Turning, "Did I rescue him from one terrible fate just to doom him to another?" This is about Hailstorm's wall ranking. It really shows just how twisted, unfair, and rigid Icewing society really is. This next one is also said by Winter again in Winter Turning, "This was my parents plan. To move a dragon into first place who'd be no trouble for Hailstorm to defeat. Snowfall is Glacier's daughter, and formidable, with only a few months until her hatching day. But me? I'm expendable." It shows how little Narwal and Tundra really care for Winter and shows just how unwanted he really is, and how little he thinks of himself. Both of these make me want to puke just reading it. Also to take in how much Hailstorm and Winter love each other but can't outwardly express it due to the abuse and harsh life they live and fear. Hailstorm was willing to give his own life away TWICE for Winter. Icewings may be one of the favorite tribes but jeez is it messed up and abusive.

Yes, there is an evil enchanted crown…not anymore tho. But it still counts as evil due to Diamond enchanting it to make the ruler hate Nightwings forever. That’s a strong enchantment and a huge impact to the war.

There was also the little speech Sunny did before the DOD went into Burn’s stronghold to announce their decision/voting thing. “I just want you guys to know that I love you. And I don’t regret anything that’s happened. I’m not mad about the fake prophecy or the talons stealing us… because without all of that, I wouldn’t have grown up with you. And you’re more important to me than anything. You are my brothers and sisters. You’re my real family. So it was worth it. No matter what.” Sorry for the 4 paragraphs I wrote lol. This is just my opinion, but I feel like winter was always kind of like harsh on the outside. So that kind of turned readers away from him but he is hands down one of my favorite characters in the series because I just feel like he's really misunderstood. But him and Qiblis friendship is definitely one of my favorite in the series because I feel like they support each other's differences and both have sort of messed up families so i feel like they understand eachother in a different way. But i love all of the winter quotes 💗

Well, clearsight didn’t really get a good ending since went over to pantalla to essentially do some loose colonizing and then her descendants used her image as trickery and twisted it for their own gains.

Can I just say that clearsight and darkstalker quote(mostly clearsight) made me cry for 2 months, 1 or 2 weeks physically

Honestly this was the most chilling Darkstalker quote for me. He says this when he thinks he`s alone, and its one of the few times he's being completly honest with himself about how alone and powerless he feels, because he's busy appearring as a glorious king on the outside to everyone else. But on the inside, he doesnt feel any close relationship to anyone anymore.
Despite acting super friendly towards everyone, he isnt actually capable of seeing anyone else as a real friend (not like he used to be with Clearsight and Fathom). He's only able to see other dragons as tools and as lesser than him, thinking of them as merely his slaves and soldiers
One line from Wings of Fire I remember well is the opening line of the Winglet Deserter: Unlike most dragons, Six-Claws had a remarkably happy childhood.
I think this line establishes a lot.

I just recently started re-reading the 3rd arc and the only thing I can remember so far is "Snuudooo" honestly, Bumblebee is adorable alongside Sundew - the best niece/Aunt duo.
One of my personal favorites is by Jambu, and even then it's the description of it. *a cloudy blue gray marched up from his talons. He made an almost comically sad face at her* "No sun?"

This video makes some really good points. I've never really thought of these quotes before, but gosh they are good.
My most memorable quote was Morrowseer's reveal that the prophecy was fake: "Now there's no point - the NightWings are already in the rainforest, so we have no reason to join the war. It'll drag on endlessly, and more dragons will die every day, probably for generations. All of them wondering what happened to the amazing dragonets who were supposed to save them, but obviously failed"
I particularly like the speech Qibli gives to Winter in book 7, apparently on page 165, when they're searching for Hailstorm;
"Stop, stop it. I see you going to the giving-up place in your head. Get yourself out of there right now. We do not know he is dead any more than we did an hour ago. What we have to do is keep searching, because he's only definitely dead if we give up and sit here like moping camels. You are not allowed to mourn until you see a dead body, do you understand me?"
Ooh yes! That's honestly a good parallell to Winter's "if this is something you'd do, we can never be friends" one.

You know that final quote about the magic actually made me think, maybe Animus magic doesn't drive a dragon crazy. Let's look at the examples, albatross is a major one, he wasn't treated very well, we don't know a lot about him but in the guide book we saw letters exchanged between him and the queen, she obviously didn't respect him at all and seemed to belittle him, stuff like that builds up, and who knows she could've done worse things we don't know about and he just snapped, there is only so much disrespect someone can take before they lose it. Maybe they only think the magic causes the dragon to go insane and that paranoia feeds into itself which could cause the Animus to question their own sanity, or the dragon could just be outright evil like darkstalker, the magic didn't make him that way that's just how he was born. The only flaw in this I can really immediately see if stonemover, he used his own magic to make it so his body turns to stone instead of losing his soul, but then again that stone seems to be progressing despite him not using magic as far as we know, so this could fall into that paranoia theory as well. What do you guys think? I'd love to hear if anyone agrees with this idea or if they may have a better explanation

I actually have two favorite quotes, one being said by whiteout on page 105 of Darkstalker - “Oh, I thought the marbles represented chaos theory and I was just another unpredictable whim of the universe. I did not intend to disrupt your faith in controllable outcomes,” and the other being thought by blue on page 165 of the lost continent- “He wrinkled his forehead, thinking about that. Did their injustice towards him mean that he’d be justified in hurting them?” which I think is a great quote because of how it questions morality.

It’s so true though the fact that moon actually understands some dragons don’t love the place they’ve been born in because of their own expectations they have to meet this just amazing of her
The two quotes that came to mind first was said by Winter in Winter Turning, "Did I rescue him from one terrible fate just to doom him to another?" This is about Hailstorm's wall ranking. It really shows just how twisted, unfair, and rigid Icewing society really is.
This next one is also said by Winter again in Winter Turning, "This was my parents plan. To move a dragon into first place who'd be no trouble for Hailstorm to defeat. Snowfall is Glacier's daughter, and formidable, with only a few months until her hatching day. But me? I'm expendable." It shows how little Narwal and Tundra really care for Winter and shows just how unwanted he really is, and how little he thinks of himself. Both of these make me want to puke just reading it.
Also to take in how much Hailstorm and Winter love each other but can't outwardly express it due to the abuse and harsh life they live and fear. Hailstorm was willing to give his own life away TWICE for Winter. Icewings may be one of the favorite tribes but jeez is it messed up and abusive.

Clearsights quote was really relatable for me, its not easy having to lose someone you love, especially someone from your family.
Glorys quote is the second most relatable, sense I look around my surroundings, missing something. I always think 'I could have done something so it wouldn't get lost!'
Winter is the third most relatable, as I'm never happy alone, only when I'm with someone I love.
Well, the second one Winter said is also very relatable, I HATE WHEN SOMEONE DOES SOMETHING BAD!

A funny quote/scene was when Glory started freaking out when she found out the prophecy wasn’t actually real.
“THE WHOLE THING WAS MADE UP? There’s no destiny, no Wings of Fire? No *reason* for us to be trapped in a cave our whole lives? No amazing mythical SkyWing who is infinitely better than me? ABSOLUTELY NO NEED FOR ANY OF US AT ALL? LET’S GO BACK AND KILL HIM AGAIN.” Tsunami did speak before the last sentence but it was really funny.

This is just my opinion, but I feel like winter was always kind of like harsh on the outside. So that kind of turned readers away from him but he is hands down one of my favorite characters in the series because I just feel like he's really misunderstood. But him and Qiblis friendship is definitely one of my favorite in the series because I feel like they support each other's differences and both have sort of messed up families so i feel like they understand eachother in a different way. But i love all of the winter quotes 💗

Well, clearsight didn’t really get a good ending since went over to pantalla to essentially do some loose colonizing and then her descendants used her image as trickery and twisted it for their own gains.
