  • Sky News host Steve Price says there is “more pain” for Victorian farmers under a “radical plan” by the state government to fast-track renewables.
“More pain for our farmers, it would appear, under what I think is a radical plan from the Victorian state government - they’re wanting to fast-track renewable projects right across the state,” he said.
“[They have] an ambition to approve especially wind farms and transmission towers in four months to clear a renewable logjam.
“Those processes are now taking more than 12 months.
“Farmers and regional communities are objecting to these projects - solar, wind transmission lines.
“Farms would be forced to go to the Supreme Court at a huge cost that most could not afford.”

This is not only happening in Victoria. The plan to fast track renewables will ultimately be in place across all states. Australia has a total of only 6% agricultural land and this is where most renewables are being installed. Most people don't realise that many rural areas are teeming with wildlife and as many of these wind and solar projects are back to back the cumulative affect on native wildlife will be devastating.
