I forgot to mention the closure of Anaconda at Kings Dominion. Once again, Six Flags isn’t trying to be evil, they are just doing what is best for business. Something else that I forgot to mention in the video: Kings Island will likely use the new 2026 attraction to cover up the removal of The Bat.
It’s such a shame the ride is tucked in such an awkward place. I feel it would be at least a bit more popular if people could actually see it. Hopefully I’ll get a ride or two in when they open for the summer.
Cool it was a comeback Arrow after the original Bat...but the entire expansion area and that ride placement by Paramount was horrible....money grab at the time....shame...
Well, I am quite glad knowing that I will be going to Kings Island next summer so I can experience Bat for the first (and presumably last) time. I've unfortunately never had the chance to go on an Arrow suspended coaster, but I am excited to try this one before it's gone.
I don't think that announcing a ride closure would be bad business. Just look at how Kings Dominion has been doing for the past 7 years. I still hear people in the Twisted Timbers line talking about how much they miss Volcano. Meanwhile the general public is loving Busch Gardens because on how heavily they're relying on nostalgia.
Utilizing nostalgia is something that amusement parks do constantly. It’s great for business. The Bat is even a reference to one of Kings Island’s previous coasters named The Bat. In the video, I was referring to the short-term effects of announcing a ride closure. My theory is that somewhere along the line, the company decided that the loss of season pass purchases after the announced removal of a ride was too large. That could explain this burst of unannounced ride closures (or it could just be that these closures were last minute and The Bat’s will be announced). Whether the ride closures are announced or unannounced, in the long-term, the company can still use nostalgia to make money. Kings Dominion didn’t announce Volcano’s closure, but it is still remembered fondly and referenced throughout the park. Basically, in the short-term, announcing ride closures can be bad for business. In the long-term, whether the ride closure is announced or not, it can still be used for nostalgia purposes to make money.
There are also rumors surrounding the following KI closures: Drop Tower, Congo Falls, Invertigo, and Timberwolf. Notice a pattern...? They are all in the front of the park, in Action Zone!! 😮🎉
@@jay-dubb.dubb.68 Oh man, I really like Invertigo. Don’t ride it often but it’s a great little coaster. Whatever they replace them with better be great.
@JasonMartin-zh3dy I personally would hate to see the Drop Tower go... unless they replaced it with a brand new comparably sized (or taller one)... and Falcon's Fury Busch Gardens Tampa type seating would be a bonus!!! 😁🪽
@@jay-dubb.dubb.68what sucks is because of that one Orlando drop tower accident, nobody trusts drop towers. In a decade they might just be seen as one of those retro flat rides, like the top spin and enterprise.
see, i'm (mostly) fine with this if it's actually announced, and like all the closures so far, NOT fine with it if it's not announced. If we know a year in advance it's closing, that's fine and dandy, and get people speculating abotu what could replace it. i, an most people who will find this, are thoosies, so I'll also accept that its parts can keeps the other arrow suspended coasters open longer, IF THAT"S ACTUALLY SAID. At the same time, I wouldn't be surprised if The Bat is announced to never re-open in a couple weeks with how the company's going.
It could be possible that even the Steamin Demon at the Great Escape will also get the chopping block, for I hate to see even that go but even that is getting up there in age as my sister and grandmother and I noticed when we went to the indoor water park across the street from the Great Escape, it is a early corkscrew coaster from Arrow Dynamics the same company that made the bat, and it was a short ride, lasts around 30 seconds, at the me it sounded to my sister and me that it had it. I would like to see a hyper space wrap looping coaster from Vekoma take it's place. And not just the Steamin Demon.
I think steamin demon is safe, I think Six Flags will remove the larger Arrow Loopers first before the smaller ones as the small Arrows are easier to maintain. They run slower on the track causing less wear n tear. Anaconda just closed at Kings Dominion and I think Viper at Magic Mountain is next sadly and the parts from both will be donated to Steamin Demon, Carolina Cyclone, etc.

This is one of my favorites in the park. Still runs great. I would hate to see this closed.

Same here, especially since I didn't get to Winterfest...😢
@ There’s always the summer! Wishing you luck.
There will be a lot of backlash if they get rid of Bat
That didn’t stop them from removing Kingda Ka lol

They need to get rid of Iron Dragon

I was at Winter fest at kings island the other day and noticed the congo part of the congo falls sign has been removed.

They should take Iron Dragon out before the bat
No way they would remove the Bat before Invertigo
