There's one feature of K2 that I don't think you've accounted for. It's awesome active suspension system. K2 can automatically adjust it's suspension height on each individual torsion bar to produce a smoother ride. The driver can also use this feature to help the gunner achieve greater gun depression and elevation. This improves both the offensive and defensive capabilities of the tank because the smoother ride aids in shooting on the move and in hiding the tank's profile in a hull down position.
smoothness of movement isnt that nice when compared to most modern cannons which are stabilized enough to place a beer on the barrel and have it not spill
Finally K2 Black Panther is featured here! It is one of the most beautiful tanks ever made in my opinion. K2 has hydropneumatic suspension, so it has amazing hull down capacity. Especially useful on Korean terrain, where majority is mountainous.

As Russian docterine has always shown it exells at fighting on plains. So do American tanks though they fare much better on light hilly terrain because gun depression. Korean/Japanese tanks are made to work in very hilly terrain or even mountains- that's half the reason why the indirect parachute shell is a thing.suspension also helps it peek out, hide turret, or adjust the hull, things that are unnessisary on plains.
I have to say, that parachute/shell thing is the most stupidest thing I've seen. You can shoot it down with machine gun. Plus modern tanks protection systems could be utilized.

Outcome would depends on the terrain fought. Flatter terrain would result in T-14 winning the fight. K2's active protection system may be limited to two per side, but the coverage they provide seems to be much greater than those of the T-14. K2's active protection system are two units mounted on the turret top, and the system provides greater angles of coverage (including up). T-14 active protection system is mounted between the turret and the chassis. It is claimed that the Afghanit system can protect 360 degrees (horizontal coverage), but I am unsure how the system can protect the tank completely (unless the turret abandons its offensive function, rotates, and aligns the Afghanit tubes to the incoming threat). Elevated terrains (mountains and hills particularly in northern as well as eastern portion of Korean peninsula) would result in K2 having some advantages that could be exploited. K2 can utilize its suspension system to change angle of the turret, and further affect the trajectory of the munition. K2 can utilize the KSTAM as well as traditional munition. K2 apparently can wade through 4.1 meters of water using a snorkel system that requires 20-30 minute preparation.
You forgot Kimchi refrigerator in K2 and Vodka Fridge in T14. You also forgot to mention Russian tank not having any depression whilst K2 having too much depression.
What are the odds of the cameras working after receiving incoming fire? What do you do with a blind tank? Will they see enough to eaven leave the battle feald after being hit?
Now the T14 Armata got an upgrade and it has 152mm gun Also i would suggest the motherland to add one more and last thing to the T14 Armata Its drone jammers
You didn't mention the K2's suspension system which can be adjusted to terrain. This affects mobility. From K2 BP page Wikipedia: "The Black Panther fields an advanced suspension system, called the In-arm Suspension Unit (ISU), which allows for individual control of every bogie on the tracks. This allows the K2 to "sit", "stand" and "kneel", as well as "lean" towards one side or a corner. "Sitting" gives the tank a lower profile and offers superior handling over roads. "Standing" gives the vehicle higher ground clearance for maneuverability over rough terrain. "Kneeling" augments the angular range in which the tank's gun barrel can elevate and depress, allowing the vehicle to fire its main gun downhill as well as engage low-flying aircraft more effectively. The suspension unit also cushions the chassis from vibrations when travelling over uneven terrain, as the bogies can be adjusted individually on-the-fly."
That’s not much, but it’s good for survivability. As it can lower its profile. And this suspension technology has been used previously. I think the first mass produced vehicle was BMD-1. Not sure. I know Swedish tanks have it as well.
K2's power train and engine are not from Germany, also T-14's engine can be switched to 2000 hp giving it a maximum speed of 90 km/h but this will reduce the engine's life span (service life?).
14:30 but why do you not discuss the amphibious capabilities of these tanks? It is my understanding that the K2 can traverse 2m deep waters without extra preparations, and 4.5m deep waters with deep snorkels installed by engi teams: militaryleak.com/2017/11/29/k2-black-panther-tanks-river-crossing/ I cannot find much about the amphibious capabilities of the T14, do you know anything?
main battle tanks of any worth are not amphibious. Most tanks that were design to use snorkels are so rarely used because it is so dangerous. the tanks can not use their weapons when they are underwater and any damage to the snorkel or the tube that the commander sits on to guide the tank when it underwater will sink it very quickly and problem kill the whole crew. Even vehicles that are design to do this like the AAV 7 is dangerous one just sunk killing 8 members of it crew and it is the best amphibious in the world
@@gomimaninoakland The amphibious ability is quite important though, if there's small river on the way, but the tank can't cross the river without an instant bridge it will be a be quite big obstacles.

(also, we know that NK had put their hands on several soviet tanks like T-72 and T-80, so, we can easily assume that they, at least, learned some stuff about the engine and the armor composition) in my opinion, the main weakness of pok pung ho and songun-ho are probably the electronics (wich lacks behind other country's electronics due to nk's isolation) but for the mobility, the armor and the firepower, i don't think there's a real reason for them to be that bad (even assuming they still rely on soviet-era tech)

T-14 Armata has a powerful gun alright, but its ability to withstand the kickback from its main gun fire is not quite impressive. T-72BU was more stabilized when it comes to firing its main gun while being stationary than the Armata. Many say that the cause of this problem was the enlargement of the gun, and a smaller dimension turret with a weaker shock-obsorbing suspension. As you can see in the testing clip in the beginning of this video, you can see that the Armata's hall continues to rock back and forth for quite a bit after firing a round down range. Unlike the Black Panther, T-14 Armata's gun stability is something I cannot trust.
Im skeptical that the t14 will be reliable enough and practical enough in wartime situations, with the use of the unmanned turret and over working the engine from what it gets accustomed to could possibly lead to issues, as well as the wear and tear of the remote systems in the turret. Plus, electrical fires could happen if hit in the turret due to the large amout of electronics in the turret, as well as possible damage to weapon systems leading to misfires and other bad qualities. This all coupled with it being a good target from the air and very low numbers lead to imo a not great tonky boi. fun video though!
Regarding your statement that T-14 is a good target from the air, it is not an easier target than other MBTs because of its soft-kill protection system. Its Ka-band AESA radars and IR/UV sensors can detect incoming projectiles, including top attack ammunitions, and will trigger its NII Stali Upper Hemisphere Protection Complex, which consists of 2 steerable cartridges containing 12 charges each and another vertically launched cartridge containing 24 charges mounted on the turret, to launch chaffs/ECM cartridges to jam the warhead of radar-guided missiles and deploy heat smoke screen to obscure the thermal signature of the tank to counter heat-seeking missiles. Additionally, the remote controlled machine gun will be directed to fire at the incoming projectile, adding a degree of hard-kill protection to the tank's defence.
I agree T-14 has fantastic anti-tank weaponry, but unmatched anti-infantry as well? An M1A2C with MPAT, Crows, add-on M2 on the barrel, and 2 M240s has more anti-infantry dakka. Or how about a fully kitted Merkava 4 with 4 machine guns as well as a 60mm mortar? I don't think the anti-infantry capabilities of the T-14 are anything special.
A remote controlled weapon station ontop the turret is far better than all of those things you described above. The Merkava has no RCW so it doesn't have as good anti-infantry protecion in close combat
@@xAlexTobiasxB The CROWS is a remotely operated weapon station on top of the turret. Such a system is hardly unique to the T-14. Leopard 2A7V, Leopard 2 Revolution, Altay, even upgrades of the M-84. Why does everyone get all hard over the T14s unnamed turret? It's not proven to be an advantage and hasn't even been tested in combat against western MBT designs. A hit to the turret would destroy the weapon and FCS rendering the tank just as ineffective and taking it out the fight just like a standard design MBT with a manned turret. Take out the turret or a shot to the side, the tank is still rendered inoperable like any other tank even if the crew is "alive". Secondly tank commanders prefer to have hatches open and ride out of the top for maximum visibility and situational awareness. Not having a commander to observe the battlefield with his eyes from atop the tank and relying on optics is not an advantage for the T14 and reduces situational awareness which is a huge factor in which tank gets the first shot.
@@xAlexTobiasxB Not in an actual battle. The tank is dead and rendered battlefield ineffective if the main gun is hit just like any other tank and the battle continues whether the crew stays alive long enough in the capsule to be easily cleaned up by another tank round or supporting infantry.

K2 can automatically adjust it's suspension height on each individual torsion bar to produce a smoother ride. Korean trams are made in consideration of the terrain. T14 or K2 both have different scores depending on the terrain...
So I can't say that any tram is bad except for the Japanese and Chinese tanks.
Awesome series, keep up the good work!

I can believe it for now at least. Reduced turret armor and add it on to the hull. In theory it’d double the armor of any other tanks hull.
You didn't mention the K2's suspension system which can be adjusted to terrain. This affects mobility. From K2 BP page Wikipedia:
"The Black Panther fields an advanced suspension system, called the In-arm Suspension Unit (ISU), which allows for individual control of every bogie on the tracks.

I cannot find much about the amphibious capabilities of the T14, do you know anything?
main battle tanks of any worth are not amphibious.

-the added on BDD is far thicker than that of T-62M
-on the pok pung ho, the basic turret is welded (while both chonma ho and songun-ho got cast turrets, why would a country who love cast turret would suddenly use welded ones? the answer seem quite simple, since it's easyer to put NERA armor in plates than in curves inserts)
-the manpads, i don't think they are useless (bulsae II and III ATGM got an decent penetration) and they don't seem to be simply fixed on the turret, but more like simply connected (wich mean there's a good probability that the crews can use them from within the turret?)
(also, we know that NK had put their hands on several soviet tanks like T-72 and T-80, so, we can easily assume that they, at least, learned some stuff about the engine and the armor composition)
in my opinion, the main weakness of pok pung ho and songun-ho are probably the electronics (wich lacks behind other country's electronics due to nk's isolation) but for the mobility, the armor and the firepower, i don't think there's a real reason for them to be that bad (even assuming they still rely on soviet-era tech)

주력전차야타간 Yeah thats got to be some of the worst gun handling ive seen in a modern mbt
i understand where you are comming from but one question: why should the gun be stabilized while its beeing reloaded ? xD
kinda sad that you didn't mentioned the suspension in the mobility era
I don't think the anti-infantry capabilities of the T-14 are anything special.
for anti-infantry look for bmpt
A remote controlled weapon station ontop the turret is far better than all of those things you described above. The Merkava has no RCW so it doesn't have as good anti-infantry protecion in close combat
@@xAlexTobiasxB The CROWS is a remotely operated weapon station on top of the turret. Such a system is hardly unique to the T-14. Leopard 2A7V, Leopard 2 Revolution, Altay, even upgrades of the M-84. The T-14 optics were bought "used" from the French that pulled them from last gen Leclercs and sold them at public auctions. And the fact stands that the T-14 isn't even in serial production although the Rooskie propaganda media announce every year since 2016 that 1200 or 1800 or 2100 or 2300 will be built by next year and in the field, just you wait😄 And RedEffect ranks the T-14 as the best tank because he read and drank the kool-aid regarding the capabilities and specifications from the lone source, highly suspect Russian Ministry of Propaganda...uh Defense. He ranks a tank that isn't in serial production, has never been vetted by western experts and doesn't have even 15 units built much less in a warzone. He ranks it a world beater tank because it shows up at shopping center openings or breaks down in a parade while the worlds media watches or because a propaganda department says it's "the best tank in the world" just like they say they're conducting a "special military operation" to rid the Ukraine of hordes of rampaging Nazi's. Hey, I've got some ocean front property in Arizona I'll sell you cheap.🤡
@@red94mr28 Red effect does a way better research than laser pig
there literally 0 evidence to prove that T-14 uses French thermals
And not to mention it’s been a long time since Russia moved from French thermal to domestic thermal or Belarusian thermal
He’s review / talk about many tanks ( prototype tech demonstrators and tanks that aren’t even in production ) “Abrams X” and KF-51 KF-41-120
And mentioning “western experts”doesn’t really mean much since they also have a bias
And T-14 never broke down during the victory day parade it shows how little u know and is saying bs
Not to mention it wasn’t a parade it was a rehearsal for the parade

Aye yo continue this series man
T-14 high rate of reverse speed will come in handy in Ukraine for breaking contact and running away. 😉
The Russians are always on the run, and that is why the сountry has always grown. They are very cunning, they run either to Paris or to Berlin.
Now Warsaw or Berlin again? The Poles bought a lot of tanks K-2.There will be a big war. Poseidons and Zircons are coming, Sarmat is coming, and even the Cossacks.
few details that where not aborded that could have changed the scores:
-autonomy
-number of ammunitions transported
-presence/absence of hydrodynamic suspensions
-climbing abilities
-general size (an tank that is too long and that have an too long gun can become hell on earth to manoeuvrate in some areas)
-main gun elevation and depression
-the max speed on terrain and/or the ground pressure (being fast on the ground doesn't necessarly mean being fast on the dirt)
-amount of time required for the autoloader to load an new round after each shot (and to replace the round if necessary to change it)
also, with the T-14 configuration, an penetrating round from the front-side would mean an 100% casualties (since the 3 crews sit right next to each others)
with the K2, such thing can be harder to achieve (the two on the turret are separated by the gun , and about the ammorack sitting next to the pilot, i assume thare's at least some kind of internal plates to avoid any spalling to hit the rack)
also, i find hard to believe that an 1350 HP at 2100 RPM can do more than an 1475HP at 2700 RPM... also, about the "hypermode" of the russian engine, de we know if the increase of power will cost in terms of RPM?
What about the argentine TAM tank Versus the French AMX-30?
@13477 54У33 the AMX-30 is not the leclerc
@@ethanfallert2034 well the amx 30 is a tank that was devlopped during the 60 s so it would be pointless to compare both of them since it would be the same to compare à sherman with an abrams m1

Will you still be making the tank arena series?
I really enjoy those :)
You should begin to consider also cost for unit.
@@arunshukla5664 yhea, not counted in the score, but it's an important factor, that depend on many things, but in the end is vital
The things he considers are more the 'hard' top trump stats, it would be impossible to take into account all variables that make a tank good/bad.
Well, i heard there is some bs going on in Russia with inflated prices for new armored vehicles so this might be a problem.
I think you should add another category cost/value to compare worth
The bob semple tank is still better...
No bob semple tanks were ever lost by enemy fire!
The K-2 is designed for the Korean country and has very little flat land. So they decided no remote Ma Duce. I tend to trust engineers and not lawyers.
If you ever compare WW2 tanks you should add a reliability category
LOOOOL, let's see on the battlefield tovaresh
The battle of tanks is greatly influenced by the terrain. The T-14 significantly reduces its defense against shells fired from top 10 degrees above ground.
The K2 is based on the defense capability of artillery shells fired at 15 degrees above the mountainous region in accordance with the situation in Korea.
In addition, K2's protection at 15 degrees above mountainous terrain can survive any existing tank firepower except missiles.
Seems as if Kornet can penetrate frontal armor of any tank.
its hard to compare T-14 prototype with other tanks.
@Huh Huhman hm, you mean those korean K2? Yeah, they just made 260 prototypes. Compared to 20 T-14 in full serial production - yeah, its just prototype :)

Well....i would say it´s highly doubtful to rank T-14 Armata first. A tank that is still not in active service and probably for good reason. My guess is that the tank has still has some major issues that aren´t solfed. So i say the tank can not be rated now. The numbers tell you nothing. This "superb" engine numbers mean nothing if the engine constantly breaks down. Just to give one example...

Kinda funny how he always places t-14 on top and sometimes I can't understand his accent is kinda thick.
High concentration of tank experts in the comments
These K2 tanks are fast low profile tanks like dachshunds with active protection system. Russian and Chinese tank crews will piss their pants facing against K2 tanks. S Korea has test video K2 hit by 120mm gun and able to survive. European version of K2 should be upgraded version of original K2 with more protection.
You should do the Original M1 vs the T-80B
T-80B is better. Not much but still
Trust me bro it would end up really bad for the abrams
Not only the first Abrams had APDS and 105mm caliber but also later when it got apfsds the apfsds couldnt pen T80
T14 cam also transform into a russian decepticon, into a tank to blend in.
There is a difference between taking out the crew or taking out a replacable turret
@@xAlexTobiasxB Not in an actual battle. The tank is dead and rendered battlefield ineffective if the main gun is hit just like any other tank and the battle continues whether the crew stays alive long enough in the capsule to be easily cleaned up by another tank round or supporting infantry.
THEKINGOFMETROPOLIS are tanks alone in real battle? Nope so don't be a douche.
@@ZhaoHaiBuda No they arent alone which is why an unmanned turret offers even less of advantage. The tank is useless is the main gun and fcs is destroyed anyway. So how about you stop being a whiney bitch?
@@cattledog901 who hurt you?
what a joke. have you seen recent vids of armata on training bases? the engine is straining at 20kmph
Just Incorrectable Spec compare. T14 has a recoil problem. This means that tank can't make accurate second shot. I know this is just enjoyable video. but i hope you got more and detailed information for make the video like this, rather than just spec.
@Alb 92 what are you talking about little boy? stop crying and say to me calm, and reasonably.
I am sorry but the Armata tank is just hype. As you can see from the Russian weapons being displayed in the Ukrainian war, all of Russia's armor, and helicopter are just downright junk. The K2 has been tested by several countries and purchased whereas the Armata has only been hyped up by the Russians.
