      webb71 A7x got me into heavier music in general (first heavy band I listened to), they were like a stepping stone lol (still a huge fan). They are definitely good, especially some of their non-mainstream songs are so unique, but still it isn't compared to this epicness, this just another level lol.

    The truth became so clear to you, and so your faith has died
    Now see what waits for you on the other side
    A morbid sea of deepest black, a distant ever burning flame
    With nowhere else to turn, we wander alone... forever alone
    Forsaken by the God you loved, and now your love has died
    No miracle will shine its light on you
    So easily directed, your thoughts remain your only guide
    Know you will see no truth beneath this cloak of lies
    A distant ever piercing cry... so far away
    Blinded by aspirations of a higher state
    Wasting your life just searching for a periphery
    Hold on to the thought, that it was just,
    And pray for life to continue
    We'll fall beyond safeties grasp
    To re-emerge lifeless
    Trying to break from the clutches of our death
    A morbid sea of deepest black, a distant ever burning flame
    A distant ever piercing cry, so far away...

      what would you call this from 3:55 to 4:00 ? I absolutely love it when bands have parts such as this. It's not necessarily a "technique" but it's definitely a discernible style of playing guitar. Think like three days grace just like you (first 20 seconds gives enough of a taste of what i mean) it's definitely not as similar of a comparison as i'd like considering pacing etc. but I could see it as rocks version of what i'm trying to describe.... unrelated note three days grace had some of the coolest mid range tones imo.

      That's exactly what is is. Melodic death metal tends to be more our thing in England and Scandinavia. Metalcore more an American thing. We less cheesy than Americans lol.

      +määp You like it because EOTE isn't metalcore. This album is arguably metalcore, but EOTE leans more towards thrash with a more melodic base. Not to be pedantic but...

    • @maaaaaap
      @maaaaaap 8 лет назад

      BlueShift815 I don't know if i misunderstood something, but i mentioned that I don't usually like metalcore that much compared to some other metal.(This really isn't metalcore though but it has some elements) That being said, after listening EOTE few more times it has been growing on me, but it still isn't quite on CoaA level.

    • @hermaeusmora2945
      @hermaeusmora2945 10 лет назад +16

      Clean vocals kinda give it away as metalcore (so does the screamed/barked lyrics). I'll admit it's better than 70% of the other metalcore out there however.

    • @sylosisdark7093
      @sylosisdark7093 10 лет назад +6

      its definately not metalcore. They do fuck all cleans as well, especially their later stuff. They had metalcore influences on their EPs but definately not on here. Its easily thrash/prog/death :)

    • @YoLpIsBest
      @YoLpIsBest 10 лет назад +4

      Hermaeus Mora There is nothing hardcore about them. They are thrash/melodic death metal. You know, a lot of melo death bands utilize clean singing.

    • @sylosisdark7093
      @sylosisdark7093 10 лет назад +1

      Yep. I do. When did i ever say they were hardcore? :O
      U r right that they are Thrash/melo death haha.

    • @Daedalus4
      @Daedalus4 10 лет назад +7

      Hermaeus Mora
      I will never understand the "clean vocals = metalcore" argument. There are metalcore bands with clean vocals and metalcore bands without them, just as there are many real metal bands that alternate between both styles, usually ones with strong Progressive/Power influence (Scar Symmetry, for example). Which is what this is. There is no core in Sylosis' music whatsoever.
