Our dane is a 60kg growing pup, and he sits on the backseat of my Yaris hatchback just fine 😄Don't let your small car stop you from getting a giant dog. lol. They actually are ok for apartments, too. Ours grew up in a unit. Tho it's always nice to have a big space for a big dog. We moved into a house near the bush as he grew bigger. Dogs love running around freely for sure!
Roxy lookin great, good points ,we are on our third Dane 9 years 11 years and now Dutch at 12 weeks.Any cons are far outweighed by the pros.Wonderfull gentle loving animals(although he turned into a 40 pound pirhana fish for about an hour today🤣).They respond to calm, strong leaders so patience is always the key.Be prepared to put in the work early on and you will be rewarded with the best freind you will ever have👍
Roxy is so beautiful … she’s growing quickly and yes they are absolutely everything you mentioned and more. Diet is key in health and longevity…expense is major but so worth increasing their life span. Feeding organic and chemical free natural foods not only increases life span but gives them such beautiful teeth and coat. Totally agree with you when adopting a Dane into your family to consider the cost. So many precious Danes end up in foster care because of the many reasons you mentioned. Love Roxy, she’s lovely! ♥️🐾
This might sound like a negative, but there is a hidden advantage to their size when it comes to poop. Yes, poop. Our five year old is house trained and she almost never poops in the house. (We do not have carpet!) We have a Yorkie too, and her poop is much more of a problem. The Yorkie does use the pads most of the time for pee but almost never for poop. Lily, our Dane has very solid poop and is so easy to pick up. Even out in the yard it is easy to see and easy to shovel up. So, you may try to never have to pick up Dane poop, but when you do you will agree that it is no big deal. Well big, but not bad. Lily does not like to go in the house. We get the largest pads just in case, but the Yorkie uses them.
G'Mornin' Charlie and Roxy--I don't usually comment on any videos but I just have to tell you that I believe you are spot on with your advice and the way you look at Roxy! I have had the fantastic pleasure of having 14 Great Danes in the past 42 years and I'm in waiting for my newest pup (that looks like Roxy) to be delivered. In all my experiences I have practiced everything you recommend--and it works!! Oh and I also live in a log house!! Love that too! Kisses and hugs
Roxy is so beautiful. My Dane turned 1 year old yesterday. They are just so affectionate. My Dane wants to be around me all the time. It is overwhelming sometimes however the best feeling as well overall. All the love to Roxy ❤️❤️
You’re spot on! A Great Dane puppy is like a surprise package. Watching them grow literally overnight is amazing. There’s no such thing as personal space with a Dane but there’s no one else I’d want to share my pillow and space with!
Very well done! I have 3 Great Danes rn and I’m completely in love with all three! Depends on how you look at it…but it’s like potato chips you can’t have just one so just know you’ll be in complete love and will never want to not have one💕💕
Agreed, and so there, we have 4, a blue Merle, blue, a Roxy and a harlequin……we bought an old American legion and converted it into a residence. Plenty of running room outside and in, on 5 acres…..live is all Great Dane in our later years…..if I only knew back then what I know now…..This life would’ve been such a go to 🤗🤗
Thank You ! Ace is getting more and more under our skin, in a good way, but he’s growing by the day it seems and although as a pup he’s very loving and already loyal his behavior is a headache, whoooo, I’ll be ready for this puppy stage to be over ! He’s into everything, chews and eats anything, and carries things all over the house ! We may have to look into obedience training as he’s very, very hyper and hard to control at times…please continue these great videos. Blessings. 🙏❤️
I have 2 Danes, and 3 other breeds. You left out a couple of cons. You absolutely need larger furniture. A Dane loves to sleep with you, so a larger bed is a must. (Great snugglers btw). We also have couches for them to lounge on. Helps to have extra room for this extra furniture.

Absolutely I totally agree lol
From my grandfather, "the best way to get over a dogs passing is to get another dog."
I refuse to watch this video. There's no cons to having a Dane. They are so loving and sweet!
Don’t purchase, rescue!

Thank you! And I have noticed a lot of Great Dane owners have more than one Great Dane.
