Would be interesting to hear the property owner's take on the progress so far. New shoreline, tree removal, cleared & cleaned head section and an airstrip that used to be a scrawny little dam.
I'm in awe the way you smoothly move the bucket above the dump truck every time. I can't scoop coffee from the container without hitting the edge of the can.
Find it amazing that a fully loaded haul truck can now drive over a spot that was nothing but a impassable mud pit the day before without sinking in at all. Really hope no one doubts your ability to build a dam anymore after seeing that. Seen people in the comments in the past saying you weren't doing it right and so on.
Again, an old man's viewing complete. Thanks Chris, you and your crew are superb workers. Your leadership shows on every video. Great video, as always, Thank You for all your hard work producing them.
Chris, this is one of your best series of videos. Seeing that haul truck in action after all the work you did to it... man, you should be proud! Admiration!
All you need is a roll of masking tape to place that large decal. Tape the edge on the top, flip the decal upside down, start removing the backing little by little, squeegy it out. Wha La...
Hi from uk chris and crew👋👍 thanks again tyler and todd really helped chris out on this project👌👍 dam has really flew up with each man having a task (many hands make lighter work ) or just move more material😂 you guys really pushed this job and if a coolant hose is Barneys only weak link we can have that and forgive him with trust that he can prosper well for the LD18 team of machines who'd of thought chris all your machines started with Hitachi and lending charlies shakerooah (soil cleaner/screener) thanks for your time and be safe see you soon 👍👋
My favorite channel by far. I have watched for a while now and love what you do! So much so, that this last fall, I started my own landscaping/hardscaping business in hope of getting to a level that you're at. Itll take several years I'm sure but to be 25, I am ready to move my share of dirt! Cheers and God Bless from NC.
Well done Chris. I am impressed with how you get equipment sized correctly for your needs. And picking up that truck was inspired! Thank you for your gentlemanly way!
thank you for the different views of working the project. it sure makes the videos more interesting . also the explanations as to why you do certain things I find are entertaining and educational. so far you have convinced me that I do not know enough to build a pond and dam on my own. LOL
👍Curious if these two additional bodies will become regular participants in the Letsdig18 cast. The extra help seems to make things run a bit more efficiently. I'm not sure when a pond officially becomes a lake, but, this job seems like a lake at 10 acres in size. Hopefully that old galvanized pipe can be used as fish structure to save hauling to a dump or salvage yard.
@jwg19444 : Here's one definition; A pond is a body of water less than 0.5 acres (150 square meters) in an area or less than 20 feet (6 meters) in depth. A lake is defined as a body of water bigger than 1 acre (4,000 m²), although size is not a reliable indicator of its water quality. There are some others available, one of those being a body of water that stratified into three temperature differentiated layers in summer. Water on top is warm, bottom layer is cold, and the layer between (thermocline), goes from cooler than the top layer to just above the temperature of the bottom layer.
The haul truck looks great, yeah the decals will definitely dress it up Chris! Definitely a good buy brother! Sure is nice seeing you getting some help Chris, you have done so much by yourself it’s about time you get help! 👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻Thanks for sharing Chris! 🤙🏻
Looking good Chris and your new haul truck sounds great . Your friend has learned quickly how to handle the truck and you can see he is getting more confident by the day. Respect from Scotland.
Chris, Old Barney is damn sure looking good out there hauling that dirt and sounding great, can’t wait do you get back next weekend and start back on that project and I’m sure happy for you brother that you have been able to get the equipment that you’ve got to do the work that you need it for like the D6 and the haul truck. So anyway brother you and John stay safe and keep the videos coming
Bro... Digging *[yeah had to go there!]* the daily videos!!!!! Making this 54 yo man's childhood dreams of doing whatcha do come to my vicariously living thru them!!! Awesome work!!! (I'd trade my 20 plus years in the Navy, half as a boiler technician, the other as a Gas Turbine tech... having circled the world Twice, on 9 deployments... for a week of playing in the mud with ya!)
Oh its so nice to be back to reality via your channel. Real things happening in Letsdig18-land -- clear progress. Am spent after watching CSPAN feed of hearing about Supreme Court candidate. Chris, thanks for having a place where people can be people and have a respite.
Man you guys are slamming that pnod dam out in no time, haul truck has really sped things up, that truck is gonna pay for itself really fast, thanks for sharing Chris, keep up the awesome work 💪🇺🇸
Thanks Chris ! I mean thank you, thank you ! See, I was watching your Sunday vid with my 5 y.o. grand-grand son on my lap. Of course, he has all the Tonka equipment- the real ones, not the plastic garbage. You should have seen his eyes, looking at you guys diggin', the trucking, the dozer and all. 😳 And then the roller compacter ! This one, he did'nt know. Impressed when I told him the use of it ! Anyway, can't wait to watch today's episode with him. Impressive, even for this 69 y.o. kiddo ! 👍😊
Loved the video. Haul truck sure a blessing!!! Widest dam I've seen. Very efficient work day, accomplishing huge amount of dirt moved and tamped in place. Blessings from Iowa and take good care.
With the price of fuel these days you must have to take out a federal loan to keep that equipment running all day. Always enjoy watching you work thank you.
As the dam grows it is like a sponge, it soaks up what were large vehicles to the point where they are starting to look quite small now.😉 Amazing.🤨 Looking good Chris.🙂 Be well.😊
Chris thanks for all the different camera angles while doing this, it puts a new perspective into things. I really like how smooth you load the haul truck.😉😅😅
Hey Chris, My first comment which in the world of hundreds of comments you may not see. My family background when I was a kid was in your area of work, so I learned to operate a few pieces of equipment. I really appreciate how you care for and maintain your equipment, which brings me to the reason for my comment. I listen intently when you are operating your equipment and during the last several videos, as soon as your bucket teeth touch the soil and you start to push the ram out to curl the bucket, I can hear a fairly audible click or clunk which may indicate a pin or bushing wearing. It just sounds odd for your equipment. I could be dead wrong, but I thought I would mention it to you. I enjoy relaxing to your videos after a long day, so keep up the good work. BTW, I am in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
It’s a good thing you have that hauling truck to move all that dirt and clay. It would take forever to move it with a bulldozer. Your hauling truck is definitely earning its keep by saving you days of work and wear and tear on your dozer.
That's probably exactly why the existing dam has the crap dirt in it. I guess they just had a dozer or so and pushed what they had into a dam, using material where it was rather than burning a lot of diesel and hours to move better fill to where it was needed. With the dump truck it's a lot easier to do good work with the right dirt. If Chris had to do it all with the skidsteer or the dozer I'm sure the customer would think twice about bringing in the fill, too...
This has to be the most COMPACTED CLAY FORMATION in North Carolina, Chris! 😳😂 Come hell or high water...this dam ain't going anywhere. 👏 The owner should be impressed...and he has a video of construction. 😉
Troublemaker that I am, I will be tempted to put Volvo stickers on one side and caterpillar stickers on the other. It looks like a pretty good haul truck to me.
Great job the extra help is always a plus. About the whistling noise kinda sounds like harmonics check all the nuts and bolts around the pump and the lines could be vibrations.
Well!! You got all your buddies busy there! That means you're buying lunch or all the beer. I am impressed with all the toys you got stashed in one place. That land owner better pay you at least $500.00 in cash and all the fuel cost. This ain't cheap! God! I hope this ain't one of the family deals for free just because it's your cousins sister grandma's nephew pond that needed to be fixed before next storm... If that's true, I hope you at least get to fish it for free!
Chris that Off-road truck looks awesome and it works to!🎊! Chris does your truck hold more than the other truck? It is really nice that you have a couple of good friends that want to help you.
Love watching your vids. Especially after watching all of the BS that's going on in the US and around the world, on the TV. Very relaxing. Even Dirt-Perfect vids are better than anything on TV lol.
Your ability to create order from chaos is extraordinary! As is your ability to see seven moves ahead. it is a delight to watch a master at work!
Would be interesting to hear the property owner's take on the progress so far. New shoreline, tree removal, cleared & cleaned head section and an airstrip that used to be a scrawny little dam.
I'm sure it wasn't cheap either
I'm in awe the way you smoothly move the bucket above the dump truck every time. I can't scoop coffee from the container without hitting the edge of the can.
Same Hear
Bet if your floor was coffee grounds, you wouldn’t spill a grain… 😉😁
If you paid for that truck I bet you wouldn't hit it
@TheSoloAsylum ya ok kid
Same here, Dave ! 🤣🤣🤣
I still can’t fathom how you find the time with all your projects and your uncles to still have time to pump out daily videos! It’s appreciated!
Man's a terminator that doesn't have to sleep.
I enjoy watching real experts do such a great job and the explanatory commentary is awesome.
Looks like all the new equipment is really paying off. Letsdig18 Inc. is really growing fast. Congrats Chris.
Admiration!
Between the dozer, the compactor, and the haul truck, that is nicely smooshed clay on that dam.
Fresh yellow paint, no mountain of Pepsi cans on the floorboards - nice looking equipment fleet!
This is definitely one of the nicest ponds I've seen Chris work on. That dam will be there for many generations to come.
I like this! Smooth progress without manufactured drama. People constructing together without agenda. Much appreciated.
The new paint on the dump truck looks great! So nice to see equipment being taken care of.
Good work. The new (old) truck runs really sweet. Good purchase.
The trio is doing a super job moving the dam work ahead. Fantastic.
Good help is often hard to find Chris… it looks like you have a couple of keepers there… thanks for a great series on this build.
Good to see you save that top soil for other uses. Pretty valuable material on farms and gardens
The old Volvo wiggle wagon looks and sounds great. It should last you a long time with the type of work you will be doing with it.
Got ole barney looking good.
That is a massive pond dam. They should be able to drive just about anything across there without a problem. Looking real good!
There’s people that say the can operate and then there’s Chris, nuff said! 👌👌👌👌
There's operator's then there is lever jerkers. Chris is definitely a 1st class operator
One of your better videos. Thanks for showing the different aspects of the dam construction.
Still can't get over how good the ol' haul truck looks. Damn near new! lol
Nice mix of different footages and angles. Like it very much. Best regards to NC from Germany.
I'm really enjoying following the progress of this job. Excellent work.
All you need is a roll of masking tape to place that large decal. Tape the edge on the top, flip the decal upside down, start removing the backing little by little, squeegy it out. Wha La...
you have move an enourmous amount of dirt! You seem very happy in the videos, so I guess you like this project. 👍👍

Great progress moving a lot of material for the pond dam!
The dam is coming along nicely, this time it’s been done right. I can’t believe they had so much top soil in it before🤦🏻♀️ Take care & cheers 🐨🦘🥰
Beautiful day for the project.
Build back better plan that I can believe in
Got to admit, You & a crew of 2 sure can move alot of real estate in a day!, you make it work, no doubt! Another great job!👊💪
Chris great video! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
I can’t get guys to work Monday through Friday, much less Sunday. You are lucky to have a good workforce!
By far this is my most favorite project you have done so far!! Really making me what to get back out and start opening again!!

Thanks . There was a few scary moments lol
@@Todd.Roberts It takes a bit to get used to a truck that bends in the middle. BTDT
@@Todd.Roberts Hey new guy, when can I drive your truck? LOL
@@Blazer02LS yes it does . But I have ran rubber tire loaders before so I kinda knew what to expect
Really looking good. Glad the house was long enough you could cut off the bad part and you can get back to work.

The ol' haul truck cleaned up pretty nice! Very nice addition to the fleet!
Love being on a job site in the early morning. Thanks for your vids. Be healthy, stay safe and many blessings, Morgan
I agree, I love the fresh crisp air in the early mornings.
Great job Chris. You know your stuff and a very good operator.
Love this one too Chris have very good evening .
I hope the property owners don’t forget about the 8 foot drop when surveying the project 💥 🚗

Wow that is a lot of dirt moved. Team did a great job! Thank you and have a good week.

Enjoyed the video. Really good progress today. Came a long way since the start. Good crew has to make you smile. Good progress.
For once moving mud day was hot, great job all of you.
Chris, the 60p video is so nice! Vids were already great quality, but this tops it right off.
Love the sound of those old Volvos and Cats. Reminds me of my front end loader from my asphalt plant days. Old 1979 CAT 966. Open cab roof only.....

You need Letsdig decals for the doors and big old Tonka decals for the bed. That would make it stand out.
Best regards from Indiana.
LOL, I told him over the weekend that it reminded me of the Tonka I had as a kid 🙂
I can't wait for when Chris digs out the rest of the old overflow. God only knows what he may find.
Troublemaker that I am, I will be tempted to put Volvo stickers on one side and caterpillar stickers on the other. It looks like a pretty good haul truck to me.
The Build back better Dam
No video of Barney being painted? Looks good 👍
truck is lookin good all painted!
Truck is running really good. Moving a mountain of red clay.
I like the nice new paint job on the truck. You run a first class operation!
Looking good looks like your workers r doing great
Great work chris, you have a Todd and Tyler you just need aTimmy for the roller now
Wow ! For the age of that Truck, It sure looks like a Dandy !!
It seems very lucky you had the clay right where you needed it.
Great job the extra help is always a plus. About the whistling noise kinda sounds like harmonics check all the nuts and bolts around the pump and the lines could be vibrations.
You got it looking good. See some dust swirling, drying up. Got to love a piece of property where you can rob dirt and get what you need.
Well Yeah they had way to much fun 💪🏼💯💪🏼
Nice to have all that clay to work with
Can’t wait to see this complete what a difference there’s going to be
