Rory Stewart has a lovely demeanour and is a very, very likeable person. However, he is a Tory. His voting record is that of a Tory. He seemed to only leave the Tory party when Bozo was elected as PM, not because his conservative belief system changed. Only time will tell if he remains a conservative and/or Tory. He claims independence in stead of going to another party and it makes me wonder if he's just biding his time until he decides to rejoin this old party.
He would claim, i don't doubt, that it was the tory party that left him when boris became leader. The breaking of the "red wall" might well testify to that. Leopards do not change their spots. Boris is, and will remain, a feckless charlatan and chancer who goes with the prevailing winds, and i daresay stewart is, and will remain a privileged class tory ...... Regardless how likable one might find him.
I find moving to an independent position more honourable than joining Labour, for example. By being an independent he has no opportunity to be a member of the party in power, and is able to hold to his own political beliefs than those of an adopted group, while still working for his constituency. I have heard him speak a few times and he comes across as genuine, honest and honourable, but I haven’t researched the chap.
@@keithorbell8946 I hear you. But he won't move to Labour anyway because he's of a certain mindset (conserv). It's much 'easier' to become independent and then go back to your old party. @@scotsam7590 I would never vote Labour, and, since 2016 I won’t vote Conservative. I’m a centrist, I also feel that if you have a political ideology that leads you to Labour or Tory, so much that you join and stand for that party, to leave and join the other shows how opportunistic and shallow your politics are, if you have right of centre beliefs, Labour is not the place for you and vice versa. There have been a couple of recent defections from Tory to Labour, John Bercow being the most prominent. In his case I do get the impression that his politics have changed, and he has moved to a more left-of-centre position, the other MP I don’t know, but it could be he can see the writing on the wall for the Tories and wants to be on the winning side in the next election.

Imagine a scathing report from a state school. Surnames and titles would be used.
Although the report was critical, there was an offhanded casual friendliness to it. The sort of language two old chums would use. Why is this not a surprise?
This would be a termly report written to parents/guardians by a Housemaster - in Boris' case, the 'Master-in-College' as Boris was a King's Scholar living in 'College' - and not by the Head Master.
Rory....Superboy,,,,,where is he today ?
This; is how it's done.
Imagine my distress when I discovered there really was a 'Slough Grammar'.
Quite frankly, Mr Johnstone, if he wasn't dead, I'd have him expelled.
And the leopard does indeed not change it's spots ...
What a pity that the headmaster of Eton never felt a desire to enter politics.
There's a problem with the volume on this upload. I had to crank all of my volume settings up to maximum and lean in really close to the laptop just to make out what he was saying.
The problem with this reading is as follows: Most Daily Sun Mail Express readers, voters for Mr. Kemal De Pfeffel, don't understand over 50% of its content. Those of us who do, undoubtedly have never voted for this person, ever.
That was a bit arrogant of you , I think everything said was extremely plain and even a nurse who sometimes has read a non broadsheet paper could understand
@@lindajackson4190 Totally arrogant I know, but also totally true! *_"Most"_* Daily Sun Mail Express readers don't understand *over **_50%_* of its content.
Keywords being *Most* and *50%* So maybe you are _actually proving_ my arrogant supposition as I have had to clarify this for one of the _hard of reading_ You could just as easily have positioned oneself in the lesser, "not-most" and "understood 100%", groups and then got on with _nursing_ but no, you totally missed it! I'm beginning to suspect that the _"sometimes read a non broadsheet paper"_ isn’t actually very accurate (as you feel somehow alluded to by my comment).
Thanks for your assistance and practical demonstration.
I wish people were a little more kind.
@@johnstewart2656 I wish people were less racist and a little bit smarter. Then they would be able to see through Mr. Kemal Bey De Pfeffel and his band of goons.
I think we want to encourage people to be better versions of themselves. I'm not sure wishing people to be smarter will achieve that. I think that the best reaction to the Boris is to be the opposite.
Please let this trend o almighty algorithm
Upload albarn's performance please!
Written proof “a leopard doesn’t change its spots”
Give me a boy until he is 7 and I will give you back the man.
It's a pity the audio level is so low on this on. Three mikes and this is what they recorded? Otherwise, that was cool.
Benedict’s please
I think there’s been a misprint. Shouldn’t this read 9389 not 389?
How did you or he get this letter?
So basically, we had decades of warning
Did you never watch HIGNFY? They warned us for a long time - then Lonmdonm still voted for him as Mayor
@@jobandknock427 I didn't watch it, felt like it was scripted too much
People don't change.
Boris has always been Boris.
Once a FOOL always a FOOL.
The last decent Tory, gone.
I totally read Elton, not Eton. I was a bit disappointed to not hear of this imaginary blunder of Boris Johnson and Sir Elton John having a bit of tea and/or party. Of course missing the chaos that would follow.
Shows how immature he was and IS STILL TODAY.
Boris Johnson is the world’s best advert for abortion
@@rainblaze. Absolutely agree.
It sounds like you're anti-Labour at the least and I won't ask what party you're inclined towards. But it's just that I've seen this happen before. I would like to see a good many more Independent MPs in the future but it doesn't seem probable. Stay safe.
Oh, Eton the school...I thought the letter was from Elton John.....nevermind...
So he's changed a lot since then? Sadly not, as current events have amply demonstrated.
BORIS THE BUFFOON….AND LOOK WHERE HE IS NOW! OH MY GOD HELP US!
Worse still, you can bet your life Stanley Johnson took umbrage to that letter.
He would take umbrage at it.
He would have disregarded it.
