    Great review Duff. I totally agree with your assessment. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my Sherman-S. Wouldn't trade it for nothing. I felt waaaay more comfortable giving Leaperkim my money as opposed to Begode.

    I haven’t ridden the V13 or ex30 yet, but I got my Sherman-S delivered 2 weeks ago and it’s probably one of the best wheels I’ve ever owned. The suspension on it feels unreal.
    I’ve never really been super picky when it comes to how suspension feels on wheels. I’ve always thought having some kind of suspension is better than nothing, and I still do kind of think that. But man, going back to my other suspension wheels after riding the Sherman-S is a little rough. The ride quality is just that much better than my other wheels.

      The SS suspension is my favorite as well.

      Give the ex-30 a ride when u are able. I couldn't believe Begode made a wheel this modular YET well built and imho by far the most balanced wheel out of these 3 (and out of any suspension wheel i tried. I was able to try all of these and I went with the ex30 for my size and loving the torque at 6'4 265-270ib) 134v is a huge reason why. now maybe I would've went with the Sherman (i doubt it still cause of the way the ex-30 rides ...it is perfectly balanced and is fine off road ..although I have a s22 for my off road needs but I find the ex30 is very capable) anyway I really think Leaperkim should have made the Sherman-s 126.v as it makes it that much more fun with the extra torque I believe it would of had.. Anyway they are all great and you cant go wrong with any wheel Enjoy your Sherman S

    The sherman s is a beautiful wheel. One thing i learn about euc is that when you get a begode it is only 80% ready to ride. I liked my ex30 from the start but after i put all the upgraded parts on the ex30 it just feels beautiful now to ride it is night and day after upgrad. The sherman and v13 are better out of the box.

    The v13 really f*cked up by ignoring the suspension upgrades. Shocks, pads, pedals and protection are all better when having aftermarket options.

    I feel that quality is king but the really odd thing across all users but a few is that few people keep the wheels long enough to worry about long term. It is quite something when someone says they have 4000 miles on a wheel. So performance again it is funny most say they ride in the 20s to the mid 30smph but everyone wants that overhead while all of these go at least 45mph so that’s a draw. Then suspension, the new paradigm, people are reveling in how smooth one is over the other instead of can they take a hit are they serviceable and how much they are to replace when you break them (a regular occurrence). Then the light is discussed in the same breath which is just funny kinda quirky. If I were to review these three wheels I could parrot the same things, yes but brand loyalty makes the decision for most people at top of the list we know what we want but want to beat to death specifications, watch review videos and obsess. Now that’s a hobby for you.

    • @Duf
      @Duf  Год назад

      Well that is true in my case, I only have had a couple wheels that I put more than 1000 miles on.

    Personally even if I had to pay, nevermind free, I'd still choose the ex30. O wait, I did buy the ex30 🤩. Why? Cos the torque & ride characteristics suits me. I'm not much of a zombie cruiser but instead, I'm a full sender. Meaning I full send my ex anywhere everywhere whenever possible, safely ofcos. Since I mainly ride bike pathways, topspeed isnt of greatest value to me & I'm more than happy with 50mph but the ex pulls sooo effortlessly & seeminly endlessly, its addicting. Not my fav of BG wheels but for a big heavy wheel, there's nothing like it. Its also amazingly capable offroad as well. Not for the super tight technical gnarly mtb trails but its great for anything short off. Which is why I'm keeping the T4 as its just about perfect for such

    • @Duf
      @Duf  Год назад

      If you are full send, EX30 makes sense.

  • @freeforester1717

    Regarding the EX30 display - isn’t the third zero digit (for potential hundreds, presumably) somewhat redundant, being as it never gets used, as far as I understand (?) It doesn’t even register as a 1 when free spin checking and the speed in kilometres per hour and the speed exceeds 100km/hr.

    • @Duf
      @Duf  Год назад

      Not sure if it registers if you set it for KM, I thought it did

    • @scottsum1319
      @scottsum1319 Год назад

      All 3 digits on display speedometer will light up on free spin on mine, in kmh ofcos. But yes for all practical intent & purposes, its useless. But if thats what ppl are complaining about, I'd say its a big win for ex30. Display while still not totally visible under direct noon sun, its likely the best short of that

    • @freeforester1717
      @freeforester1717 Год назад

      @@scottsum1319 it’s a good long range cruiser wheel, but less well suited for trails and stairs/jumps of course, the battery case height and geometry and overall all up weight counting against this. Pity too that Begode dropped the ball with their change of pedals - gone from what were great stock offerings to just something else to swap out, it seems. Overall it seems that Begode are trying harder again with their latest wheels, though the video by Grizzla showing that the pedal mount screws hadn’t even been put on to the wheel showed up the shortcomings of their current QC standards. Hopefully they will continue to improve, I will look at the Extreme with interest, but my own personal needs for a rangey suspension road wheel are covered with the Sherman ‘S’.

    • @scottsum1319
      @scottsum1319 Год назад

      @@freeforester1717 I would disagree on the not so suited for offroad comment. IMO my ex30 surpassed my expectations on trails with v good suspension & torque for any kinda climbs. I've had no issues with ped or batt case clearance, anywhere. But yes the 100+ lbs does weigh on me on tight techicals after abit but then I think those over 200+ lbs might have a easier time

    • @freeforester1717
      @freeforester1717 Год назад

      @@scottsum1319Was just looking at Mike Sacristan’s recent video (isthereanyfood?) where he had a few scrapes on the front of the batt boxes in the skatepark, and several others mentioning clipping their rear stands on deeper stairs. I’m sure it’s a performer otherwise, it would hardly justify the weight if it was a weakling, or short in capacity for the weight like the V13.

    I chose Sherman S, and definitely do not regret it. It's definitely a 100v wheel, but it's well tuned for decent torque and good upper end. The suspension is Legit! This wheel can cruise over very rough surfaces and maintain perfect control and traction.
    I'm not sure how much ground clearance the Shem S really has over the EX30, but that shallow leading edge was the dealbreaker for me on that wheel - I'm sure it's low center of gravity makes it an amazing road wheel, especially with all that performance. If someone preferred the EX30, I'd certainly understand, but I want my Sherman S for truly uneven/mountain road type surfaces - which it has been very good on so far. Sherman S also seems difficult to overheat too, which is very nice for long climbs.
