- My first night flight with Pat and my dad from Camarillo thru the LAX VFR corridor down to Montgomery field San Diego. We discovered a great Mexican restaurant 100 feet from where we parked our plane. My brother Dusty met us for dinner and then drove us to the comedy club. My dad performed stand up comedy at Comedy Heights and we flew back late at night. It was amazing to fly right over LAX at 3500 feet and see all of the cargo ships moored off the coast waiting for a spot to unload their cargo. Night flying is a blast ! Send us your comments and questions. We answer every one. We have another video that Pat is editing and it should be up soon. Please subscribe ! Fly safe ! www.imdb.com/n...

I love flying at night. It's so peaceful and calm and quiet. Not much radio traffic unless you get into KCAE or KGSP or up towards KCLT.
David , we agree !......Piper
Thanks for taking us along!
Our pleasure!
Like flying during a full moon. superb vid! thanks.
question: what is the impact of the increase price of fuel? number of people taking up flying? number of flights taken, etc?
Good question! I think it will have an impact for a while.
Really great vid !...you guys are awesome !
Thanks so much!
👍☑️ Must have missed this one, great quality during the night flying Pat. Tks for sharing.
Pat is the master at capturing and editing. He is a licensed private pilot as well as a licensed drone pilot.
I love how Piper sorts on food. When I heard "We're flying at night", I was... waiting for it... "Have some dinner!' - bam!
Nice flight.
Best comment of the day !
You guys are so authentic. Yes Pipy, you are the luckiest girl to have your dad as close friend and mentor. Cheers.
Thanks Armen......Piper
I never look at my airspeed after I turn base. I look out the window and land the plane.
Matt you have to do what works for you. As a CFI , I want my students to always be aware of their airspeed especially when they are too close to the ground to recover from a stall, wind shear, wake turbulence , etc. There are a lot of variables when flying...wind, temperature, density altitude, aircraft weight and balance, etc. Knowing your exact airspeed on final eliminates one variable and gives you a better perspective of where the plane will touch down which comes in handy during short field landings.
@@1capcarl what will happen to one of your students when/if their airspeed indicator fails?
Is it not sacrilege to name your daughter Piper, and then buy a Cessna? You should be flying a Saratoga, or a Malibu! Roomier too, with club seating!
Dear Dart, Pipers are nice planes but I like a 210 for a lot of reasons....high wing provides shade for me and my baggage and acts as an umbrella for my passengers. A car can pull up to my wingtip and unload passengers into my plane under the wing and they never get wet. Two doors make it easy to get in and out. The high wing lets me store stuff beneath it in my hangar. I like gravity fed fuel for my engines as gravity never goes inop ( so far). We do a lot of filming and we like to see below us. Club seating doesn't let people recline very much. The 210 has the widest CG and huge useful load (1500 pounds) plus a huge extended baggage compartment when I easily lower the rear seats. The low wing Pipers have advantages too like a wider gear for more ground stability during high crosswinds.
@@1capcarl You have a lot of valid points, but I've never seen anyone stuff a casket in the back of a Centurion. Have you flown a Saratoga to get a true comparison? I do prefer the view from a Cessna, but for long flights, something about the seats make me squirm after a couple hours. I seem to be much more comfortable in a Piper seat, and my father was killed in a Piper! The Saratoga also has two doors with the rear one being much larger. Of all the Cessna's I've flown, my favorite is the Cardinal. Never was a fan of the unusual gear retraction however. In Alaska, there are dozens of old Cherokee 6's, that are flying freight, and few Cessna's. We had 4 Saratoga's in the flying school/club I worked for. Two fixed gear, and two retracts. The T-210L we bought lasted less than a year. Guys complained about vapor lock, and it had more gear issues than any of our Saratoga's and Arrows. It just did not rent enough to justify keeping it. Any plane that averaged less than 30 hours per month got sold.
Sorry to hear about your dad. They are all great planes. I learned to fly in a Cherokee 140, got my instrument in a Comanche, and my multi in an Apache. I flew freight in a Cherokee six. I am well acquainted with the entire tribe ! I have owned over a dozen aircraft and helicopters. Our next video is where I flew a BE-18 with Pat to Lake Tahoe and back.
Welcome back !
Looking forward to the next one ☝️
Hopefully soon Robert......Piper

Awesome Piper!!! Missed you guys!
Jack, More to come!
wow, its so nice to see something from you folks again. Did Piper get her private license yet ? I have been flying since 1977 and have never seen the PAPI lights on the right side of any runway. (we call those PAPIs in Canada) Excellent video.
Peter, I am still working on it but sometimes other projects get in the way.
Casa Machado is my total fave! Course, I live in SD!
That place rocks for real authentic first class Mexican food !
Great video Piper!! Always love y’all’s videos 👊🏼😁🤙🏼 I can’t wait to fly at night myself. I have a ton of hours flying my Grandaddys Cub with him all my life but never got my licenses. So now I’m working on getting them. I got 11 hours in the Cub so far. 🤙🏼😁
Looking forward to meeting you and your dad at Sun-n-Fun 2022. 😉
You did an amazing job on your cub. Your grandfather would be very proud of you.
@@1capcarl Thank you so much Piper!!! 😉👌🏼
nice done👏👏👏👌
Thank you! Cheers!
Carl: Thank you for keeping your comedy act clean. That is rare these days.
Comedy Heights in San Diego is know for TV clean comedy and I like that.
Wow, I've been waiting so long for this. You guys are the best and I can't get enough. You (Piper) are something special and your Dad is everybody's dream instructor. Pat is the cool dude!
Thanks!

Hi guys good to be back my house burned to the ground I lost everything I owned I crawled out on fire I just replaced my iPad and am catching up on all my flying videos so good to see your still teaching piper how to fly and to piper great job you I'm impressed this is another great video by capcarl thanks guys it made my night by taking my mind off of everything
Ed so sorry to hear about your house but happy to hear you made it out OK !.....Piper
Cool video. Being a night flight, the soundtrack should have contained the drum intro to "Nightflight To Venus" * by Boney M. Because a) it's a night flight, and b) the drum intro is just cool, and with roots way back to Jimi Hendrix. Your dad might know the links. :-)
We will look for it. Thanks ! Piper
Hey Piper. Great video. My wife looks just like you and I think she would look really cute in that black shirt/bodysuit? If you can, pls let me know where you got it from so I can get it for her.
Hi, Jan! My bodysuit is from ATM. You can get it on their website or check Bloomingdales.
She have her license yet?
Not yet Ken but hopefully soon ! Piper
Make more videos!
In the works !
Top flight!
Thank you Yeshua !!!.....Piper
