This FSU starting five has four future NBA 1st round picks:
    Edwards 1993
    Cassell 1993
    Ward 1994
    Sura 1995

Amazing to realize Sura had zero offers coming out of high school despite averaging 30+ per game and taking his team to the state championship game. Sura only got connected to FSU because their coach, Pat Kennedy, played college ball at D3 King's College in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Sura played for Wilkes-Barre GAR High School, and the long-time coach at King's College (who coached Kennedy in college) called Kennedy and told him he should take a look at Sura.

Fla St went into OT with W.Kentucky the game before and they ran out of gas to a deep and talented Kentucky team. Both teams were loaded with NBA picks.

I think it's fair to say the 96' title team with Delk, McCartey, Walker, Anderson, Epps, Pope, Mercer, etc.....was the best team that Rick Pitino had during his time at Kentucky. But to this day I still believe that Jamaal Mashburn was the most talented individual player that Pitino ever recruited to come to Kentucky, IMO.

To me that was a very Underrated Kentucky team. Most years they could have at least been in the title game but 93 was Michigan and UNC's Year! Mashburn and Ford were leathal!!

Pat Kennedy had some quality teams. This game also shows us how intelligent Al McGuire was. It was a given that any game McGuire did I would learn something new. Back in the day when Dick Enberg and Billy Packer was along side Al, they were arguably the best team on any network. I enjoyed them tremendously. I wish CBS wouldve kept that 3 man courtside. Dick Stockton wad no slouch eirher. Stockton on the NBA was head n shoulders above antmy and everyone. Lets see .Stockton was paired wirh Heinson, Russell, Hubie Brown, Matt Gukas Al Ma. Just one if tge best PERIOD!

They had Dick Enberg announce with Packer & McGuire in a UCONN/ Michigan State game from 2000. Packer became a turd when he was at CBS, he really needed McGuire and vice versa.

That's true...However, I feel that the previous year's Kentucky team was the most underrated, since they just finished their probation period and they made it all the way to the Elite 8 with "The Unforgettables." It would have been something if they had won the Final Four that year. But, they have won three since then. Also, that Florida State team was very good that season.

Yup...Had Laettner missed that shot, it would've been a rematch of the December game against Indiana in the National Semifinals (which they probably would have won) and handled the Fab Five with ease.
