Thank you for this! Have been knitting over 60 years and THIS explained stitch orientation in a way I haven't seen before. So appreciated your drawing and live demonstration 🧶
So glad I found your video - not only is this informative, but it's great that you are located near my home town of Arden, NC. I'm living in Canada now and any reminder of home is welcome! Thank you!
Really helped me to see what actually happens with the yarn when going through both the correct knitting steps and the wrong knitting steps. Thank you for the illustrations!
Wow, the illustrations were a huge help. I have often seen videos that try to explain this just by the use of yarn and needle. This was truly helpful. Thank you.
Thanks for this video! I just started learning to knit ❤❤ I came here to learn how to fix my mistakes and walked away learning that and more! Like drawing frogs, linguistic origins, confidence, hydrating, and the deep rooted cultural songs of kitty cats ❤❤❤
Thank you SO MUCH for this video. I am a self-taught knitter (and perfectionist) using videos and have tinked a lot! This gives me a clear understanding about putting my stitches back on the needle & I send you lots of hugs for that😊😊😊😊❤
Oh my goodness lovely! Fun video that really saved me so much stress about those darn wrong sided stitch pickups after ripping out!! Many thanks! Also love the fact that you're drawing diagrams!! For visual learners - this a very helpful addition to the demo!!
Thank you so much . I love your chalkboard way of teaching. It makes it so much easier to understand! Hope that migraine disappears quickly. I’m a new member😊
I am attempting to lengthen a childs sweater. This was really helpful once I got to the point after I cut the piece apart and now to get stitches oriented on needles to start knitting the extra length. Thank you so much. I often pull my own stiches out with sweater sleeves catching end of DPNs 😌😌
Love this! I’m new at knitting and the way you explain it makes me understand so many things😊 I’m following a tutorial to make a scarf with double stockinette stitch, but I make mistakes very easily. When I try frogging it I never know how to put the stitches back on the needle, and I was suggested to pick them up as if I was working a 1x1 ribbing. So do you always put them back the same way, regardless of the stitches you’re working? This might be a stupid question, but thank you in advance!🙏🏻
Hiii! Do you have a video tutorial on how to frog like the cuff of a sock that was knitted cuff to toe? Like to add more rows between the rib and the leg of the sock… Like is it easy to undo the cast on and undo the rib going that way or is not possible Hope you understand me 😅
Hi- I don’t have a video on that- it’s a bit complicated because it’s the opposite direction of your knitting- you can cut it about a row down and try to find the stitches once you pull out the cut pieces, but there might be a bit of a jog because you are going the opposite way ❤️
Hi, your videos are great! However, I'm making a scarf, and on the purl side I made an SSP before I needed to. I totally messed it up. How do you correctly take out an SSP for future reference (it's a long scarf and I'm sure I'll have to go back and remove an SSP again!) thank you, maureen
Hi Maureen, twisted decreases are challenging to tink….. my best advice is get your needle into the space the yarn goes through for the stitch you want to tink (through the 2 stitches below that have been decreased) to hold them in place, and pull out the top stitch. Then you may need to flip the stitches around on your needle, or even let them gently off the needle to reorient them in the right way. Good luck! ❤️❤️❤️🫶
Hi Georgia, the same principles apply, except with circular needles- work a small piece at a time to assist. If you have specific questions about issues in the round that arise, let me know, I’ll see if I can address them :)
This is the video I had been searching for! THANK YOU for decoding stitch orientation for me!!! 💕💕

Great job! You are smart for using big yarn and needles so we can all see clearly. I really appreciated your color coded illustrations. BRAVO!

This is the only video I could find that made sense to me! Thank you! X

Great breakdown and clear instructions! Thanks!

This was incredibly helpful! I've saved it so I can refer back whenever I need to frog.
Very clear. I’m ready to tackle my sweater fix. Thanks

This is so helpful
Hi there. Do you have a video for when you're knitting along and the stitch drops off the needle and want to quickly put it back on?

Your cat was clearly asking for something, probably food or going out if he goes out. When they want attention they jump in front or close to you.

Too long of a video ,could have been done in two minutes.
