Someone in Conway kicked in the grill of my EV6 on Mount Pleasant car park, caused £900 of damage. Keep an eye on it Brian.

Hi Brian , does yours have a heat pump? If you remember, I'm planning on towing when I get it. I am thinking a heat pump is worthwhile as journeys will be slower and more time spent in the car.
We've just come back from near Criccieth! (180 miles). I simulated driving the EV6 and recharging stops on ABRP. Using 1.8 kilowatts per mile for towing purposes, It required two charging stops from near Wetherby to arrive at destination with 30%. (One stop if not towing, although all the ways possible if arriving with 10%) according to ABRP.
Does all this the seem about right?
Of course I did all this in my 9-year-old Peugeot 308 SW Which landed me with a further problem on route of an emissions fault. It looks like it's going to be £1,500 for a new urea tank!

No heat pump for me. I honestly don’t think the heat pump will pay for itself unless you are in a cold climate that is

Firstly open both apps on the t-box. There is a part in the video where i put them both on the split screen. Also I probably do it on this video ruclips.net/video/NPr3PMXmQck/видео.html

Nice video. It would be helpful if you explained all the CarScanner graphs. Not really sure what I was looking for, any concerns etc. Also, were you driving conservatively? Looks like you followed a lorry (60mph?) on a long section of dual carriageway.

I have covered the reasons for monitoring this in previous ICCU Recall videos which you may not have seen but I’m happy to explain. What i’m looking for is pre-warning of the 12v not charging & also keeping an eye on the LDC (Low voltage DC) temperature. The EWP is the electric water pump & that should be helping keep the LDC cool and help prevent 12v battery charging from failing. As for the 11kW charging there have been problems in the US charging at 11kW causing the charge port to overheat which has meant the speed has to be reduced to stop the charge from failing. At 120V AC they have to shove more Amps in than we do. So that was just for my curiosity. There are others who watch my channel who know more and can tell me what that strange charging pattern means.

@@evodessey Thank you! Makes sense. I am really nervous about taking my car and family to France in July, and the ICCU failing. I had an ICCU inspection in February (dealer never explained what that was) when car was in for something else. I've checked for the fault code P1A9096 in Car Scanner, but nothing present, which is good. Concerning that people have had failures even after inspection. Contemplating taking our second car (ICE) such is the concern!

@jonfb1683 the failure rate is supposed to be extremely (1%) low in the total population but it's a always a worry in the back of my mind. I have decent breakdown recovery but that's not much use of it ruins your holiday .

I'm travelling to Harrogate for Everything Electric on Friday, long distance and holiday to Pembrokeshire in June, it will not put me off one bit, what will be will be. All I can do is keep an eye on it and try to mitigate.

100%=287 miles , the range should be 310 plus miles on KIA EV6 RWD.

I did a reset after i came back and the GOM is now up to 310 Miles after not very much driving.

I get 280 with same spec car ... The only time it showed 310 was from new last year.

@@danielsimpson8371 I had EV6 RWD when its new it shows 310 plus miles when its fully charge, the car is 2 years old but when i came back from holiday my car have not been used for 2 months. When i came back from holiday i started using the car. The range have dropped to 290 when its fully charge, I wonder why. Next month i take the car to the dealer to do a health check on the battery. The car have only done 7800 miles.

Temperature & driving style history & Climate Control usage have biggest impact. Also resetting all the GOM trip meters more often can help. If the overall average is 4 Miles/kWh then you should be getting over 300 on the GOM.
