Hey G, Dude I found your how to play salsa video and I’m hooked. This is video 10 I think 🤷🏾 I like how you teach, play, and all of it. I just wanted to let you know YOU ROCK!!! Keep the vids coming!
Hi Tal, when you introduce a bass player to the mix the approach should change a bit. I would Definitely be more careful about playing all the bass notes and putting too much weigh on the bass. I usually kinda sit and see how the bass player plays - if he’s busy, I’ll lay low on the bass, even to the point of not playing the bass at all - sort of doing a “hybrid” version of the grooves. If the bassist leaves some space I would still be very cautious and adjust my bass notes volume to be quieter than the chord. Don’t forget the bass notes on the nylon guitar kinda “fight” for the same frequency space than some of the electric bass notes in the stereo spectrum. So just watch out and adjust your playing a bit to not clash with the bass. Hope it helps! Best GS
This is extremely helpful. I have been looking for the name of a particular groove (I think you said it was similar to a Choro groove), and I think you helped me find it! Is the groove in this song considered more like a Choro? ruclips.net/video/uqq-ngnGaIg/видео.html

What are those beautiful chords. Any sequence or scales.
Mainly I - vi -ii -V in C with embellishments.

Hey Gabriel, do you still play these patterns with the bass note if you being accompanied by a bass player?
