Thank you for this explanation. I love the song "Partido Alto" by Azymuth and this particular "segmented" beat used in the song. But I did not know it was a name of a style that is a subset of samba. Makes sense!

Very nice explanation! I like where at 4:31 ,and after, it shows the chord changes clearly in relation to the Partido. This is so important also because melodies in many or most? Brazilian tunes really follows this authentic way of playing the rhythm with the beginning of the 2 bar phrase being more syncopated (avoiding beat "1" and anchoring on the next bar downbeat - or in 4/4 avoiding the 1 and anchoring on the 3, or the middle of the clave).

Hermano, excelente como siempre! Me gustaría saber cómo adaptarías estos estilos a un formato eléctrico. Si cambiarías algunos aspectos de el groove para tocarlo en guitarra eléctrica. Abrazo grande!

Wonderful, and later, on in the clip, where you give examples of Samba styles mixed in with the Partido alto it really is clear that all of Samba is thoroughly influenced and infected by Partido, alto. About 10 years ago I heard it said that around 30 years ago Partido alto infected Samba so it's been about 40 years now?

@@tiltil9442 interesting! How long ago? maybe at the origins of Samba?
