Oh it totally is. I made so many mini junk journals with this glue binding. I had so many I had to give them away. I've finally run out of them. Time to make more! Hahaha
Thank you! So I dont have a tab punch or anything, and it felt too cumbersome to pull out my cricut so I used the punch part on my envelope punch board to make the tabbies. Haha. I felt very clever but I just felt it needed tabbies!!
YES! I have been waiting to see how you make these little journals! IThank youfor sharing. With that watercolor paper, I am sure these will trun into amazing finished journals
Jenn, this like everything else you make is fabulous! Thank you for the awesome tutorial 💗 I was wondering if the book opens flat or if you e had pages come out? Thx!
The book does open flat. Thats one of the benefits of using a thin fabric for the spine. So, I haven't started working in either of these yet so I cant say if the pages will come out. I will say that the others ones I made and have used, occasionally a page will come loose. BUT that was before I learned to do 3 thin layers instead of 1 layer. These are my first ones using the 3 thin layers of glue so my hopes are the pages will stay put. I have been flipping the pages a lot and not one has come loose so Im pretty confident they won't in the future as Im working. In my other books, I just put some masking tape or washi to hold the pages in and it adds a decorative and functional element. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful about the pages.
Thanks Francie! It's by Joggles and Cat Kerr called Reinforcements. www.joggles.com/rubber-stamps/joggles-foam-stamps/joggles-cat-kerr-foam-stamp-reinforcements-57019.htm
Yep, loved it so much I watched it on here and on the joggles channel. 😂This is absolutely gorgeous😍😍😍, I'm totally in love with it.😉😍💖 I'm so excited to see you doing work for joggles as you're my favorite artist 😍 I have used Joggles a lot in the past few months and their quality of their products is amazing.💕 I don't know what took me so long to start purchasing from them, but this is an amazing collaboration! A special thank you to Joggles for asking you to do this💕💕
I'm super stoked about it, too. They seriously have the best prices. Anything you want, you can always find it at joggles for just a bit cheaper than anywhere else. And that matters. They are amazing. And Barb is seriously the nicest, best person I have ever worked with at a company. She's an artist so she really gets what other artists want and need. Cannot rave about joggles enough, obvi. Haha
You dont need one at all! I just like the look of stitching around the covers but I make them without stitching, too. You could just glue the ribbon strips to the cover (or skip them altogether, they serve no function since the glue holds the covers to the spine) add a border stamp or just edge it with a black ink pad.
@@DistractedDaisy I hear people really seem to like the handheld one. I totally get not having space tho..the bf had to make me a cutout in the wall for my machine to go..before that it was just sitting on the floor in the middle of my room and i used my hand on the foot pedal. Haha. So i TOTALLY get it.
I have never tried Tacky glue but I have heard of people using it. So you could give it a try. It's the flexibility when dry you want and I believe Tacky glue has that property. I meant to elaborate on the Elmers. The school glue wont work but Elmers has a Craft Bond version that works.
I used Sobo glue. Joggles carries it but you can get it other places. Another good one specifically for book binding is this one: Books by Hand pH Neutral PVA Adhesive, 8oz (BBHM217) www.amazon.com/dp/B0025TZ26Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_IRF1CbA1BAT8M
I'm pretty sure I said Elmers is pva glue. Just not the kind that remains flexible once it's dry, like Sobo or Tacky glue or bookbinders glue. Elmers Craft Bond does, just not the regular ole school glue. Maybe I shoulda clarified. Thanks for you comment anyway, Im glad you enjoyed the process. ☺
Great little journals Jenn. They are beautiful. Thanks to joggles we get more of Jenn!
Thanks Debbie! Yeah Im super happy about that!

Such a simple binding technique. Thanks for sharing.
Super simple..and you can use super small papers and not worry about having enough to fold over.
Beautiful. Thank you!
Thank you Marianne!
Love, love, love this wonderful book! Can you tell me where you got the stamp?

@@MixedMediaJenn seriously, all the best stuff and soooo cheap😍 plus, they've obviously have great taste😉💗
Really cool! I don’t have a sewing machine but maybe in the future I’ll get creative and make one of these

MixedMedia Jenn sounds good! Thanks for the tip
Love your journals . You always make me want to buy a sewing machine
Yeah I love using my sewing machine on paper. I think it might get more use on paper projects than actual fabric! Haha
@@MixedMediaJenn Maybe a hand sewing machine will work, my craft room is so small, and I already have a lot of stuff in it..

Love them!!!
Wow Jenn. I love this project! Do you know if Alene’s Tacky glue would work?

MixedMedia Jenn, thanks for replying so quickly! 🤗🤗🤗
❤ this lil book
Thank you!
Well done! 😍
Thank you!
I like it but what is the name of the PVA glue you used and can you only get it from joggles Thanks a bunch Big Hugs and Smiles
