In today's video i discuss how each series approaches approaches the topic of out there characters such as mutants. Please let me know what you think !

Clancy is pretty underrated that I think he should be used more often and he has some potential like Sublimino and Rojo
His backstory was interesting and rather sad
He lived in a run down apartment that was build by his grandfather and after hearing that it was gonna be taken down he wanted to take matters in his own hands in order to honor his grandfather
I love shows that full on gave depth and story to one off antagonist that just makes you to pity him
Man mutants has always been a cool and interesting concept in a world of ben 10
It was stated in one of the pop-ups that Devlin actually did not inherit Kevin's absorption powers, just the Kevin 11 transformation. That's Devlin's only power
Yeah i absolutely agree with the original series feeling like it's whole own established universe and is probably partly why it's easily my favourite series
I'm loving these discussion type of videos btw, really gives a good introduction for what to expect from Ben 10 shows and also is a reminder for someone who is coming back to Ben 10 after a while
The thing that mostly got me confused through the entirety of ben10's run is the concept of the Osmosians, going form mutant ot alien to mutant again, i guess they couldn't decide what to do with that concept until Omniverse came around
They should have never tried to change the convept,they should have kept it as mutants as it was originaly intended to be

Just like how they changed Gwen’s whole magic schtick to “oh, she’s half alien thanks to Verdona, and that’s where her powers come from”
@@beastmaster0934 The first time it was revealed I loled that idea but started hating that retcon aswell.
What they should have done is said that anodite are native from ledger domain n were the ones who thought humans how to use magic(human are among the few species who can)

@@skylerwarren7300 nah it was intended for him to be a mutant just the rest of the superpowered humans (excluding hex & charmcaster who are magic orienrated).
Really great video, I really like how the classic series handled stuff like this more
Although I'm a huge UAF & Omniverse fan, I like how classic how things other than aliens, mutants, magic, cryptids & monsters, etc
And although I like how they made Kevin a mutant again, I personally didn't like how they handled it at all. I liked the base idea for the rooters arc, but imo it completely screwed with too many previous arcs. To me it cheapened all the plumber kid's stories/backstories, to me their parents being aliens were a pivotal part of their backstories, especially alan, and retconning devin out of existence also was not that good.
I liked some stuff about the arc, like kevin being able to control his mutated form fully now, Ben using Alien-X casually was a treat, I love how they brought back Paul and answered what happened to him, and even tied it into the Nemetrix, to explain more why Kyber always had to have dog/pet use it instead of himself. Kevin being a mutant again was also nice. I just really hated the retcons
I think they could’ve done so much more with the mutants from classic, we should’ve found out how they came to be and there could’ve been a plot about it

And Gwen magic...
I like to think that with all of the crazy mutations that humans can have in Ben 10, along with their ability to have viable offspring with almost any other species(amalgam kids retcon notwithstanding), humans’ “power” is having extremely malleable DNA, and the Ultimate Human(ultimate Ben seems more like an omnitrix gimmick than the ultimatrix actually evolving human dna) would be able to change their genes on the fly to adapt to any situation.

Can you please tell me where you got the information that Ragnarok was related to the routers because I don’t know if I’ve ever heard that Ragnarok is pretty much the biggest thing that makes Servantis Redcon so hard to accept but having him be related to the routers would make the whole red con significantly more probable I mean it still just doesn’t function chronologically but neither does Kevin’s entire origin story
Can you make a vídeo about ALL of the aliens that have multiple forms that aren't Neither fusions either ultimates okay?

What would happen if the ultimate alien's breed with own species?
Was it necessary to change Kevin's backstory, like I genuinely liked the osmosian concept, and Kevin was never really stated in the og series to be a mutant we just assumed that since he is a human with superpowers. They could've easily still kept the whole rooters thing without axing Kevin's given backstory, that's like them deciding to backtrack and saying Gwen was never an actual anodite, Servantis did something that combined her DNA with an anodites. It's unnecessary, and leaves a lot of plot holes. But the Rooters arc was still fucking awesome, so I'll give you guys that one damnit.
Devin's existence gave even more inconsistencies
it doesn't leave a lot of plothole if you actually think about it for a minute, it makes sense

I mean they still call it osmosian, only now it means a specific type of mutant

In classic series, you could remove all aliens and there would still be plenty of weird and fun stuff around. In UAF? Everything is aliens, always, all the time. Then comes Retcomniverse and just does whatever it feels like.
I like Kevin as a mutant. I'm fine with Kevin as part alien. But crab man's fake memories are just...
The rooter was enjoyable but Lord Christ was a huge ass plot hole and it ruined Kevin's backstory add that to the list of things I'll never forgive Omniverse for.
