I bought this from Anderton's, as soon as it was released, on preorder. Took six weeks to get. It's built like a tank. Definitely does the klon thing, to my ears.
Had mine in December and fuzz Bender, I love using the Klon as a boost, Runnig it into my H&K deluxe 20/ out of build in redbox and using IR's with NAM. sounds the bee's knees , Noise floor also real good on this pedal very well build and only 70 quids best pedal purchase in a long time for me.
Would like to hear a side by side with all the other versions out there. My best friend got one of these Behringer Centaur and we tried it on my JCM900 and it sounded great! I really like this new Klon clone! He has their new Uni-Vibe coming in a few days. Can't wait to hear that too!
And its less than half the price of the JHS offering! I use an EQ pedal as a flat boost and a RAT with low settings to achieve an overdrive sound, I sometimes boost or cut the bass frequency slightly depending on the sound I want. I might buy one of these just to hear what all the fuss is about, I have heard a Klon online but that is never the same as listening to one with an amp in the same room, and differing guitar and amp combinations will produce different tones.
I got mine December 30th but thats in UK so maybe there was a different release date but i will add that i didnt now the pedal was coming out until i saw it mentioned on youtbue and ordered it 20 minutes later and it was available soi dont now if you could get it earlier.
Please do the comparison if possible. I bought that very pedal from Sweetwater. I got it a few days ago. Tested a bit and enjoying but would like to hear the both compared. Thanks for everything you do
It sounds like a pretty good overdrive but then so was the original, the biggest problem I can see with it is they are already selling for over £110 in the UK on ebay used and will only go up in price as the shops that are advertising them for £56/£59 are now taking pre orders for August/September. Here we go again, another Centaur rip off. I'll definitely be buying their Fuzz Bender as I like the sound of it and its so cheap it would be rude not to, as for the Con, nah, Ill stick to what most session musicians use, my trusty Nobels ODR. Oh, and I have played with a real Klon Centaur as a mate of mine bought one new off Bill and lent it to me for a few days some years ago and I can tell you that yes it was OK but definitely not worth anywhere close to £2.5k they were selling for back then, let alone the $8k you say Bill Finnigan has sold them for recently.
Pedal sounded good to me; I think any pedal over $150 might be too much (not including multi effects pedals). However, guitarists seem to be the types of people who will buy a ton of pedals to find that sweet, sweet tone.
#Gibson, if you guys are watching this, you should hook this dude up with a SG bass. He has purchased enough of the guitars and done enough videos to earn one.
That’s how the original Klon was. I think the way to look at it is “treble cut or treble boost” rather than the overall tone. Probably same thing just different perspective. 🤷♂️
There are dozens of KLON copy cats that can be had for as little as $30 and they all sound great. Beheringer is just now jumping on the band wagon. If you want a KLON that IS exactly like the original checl out Demon FX.
Also, I read on the Behringer website that it has diodes"Inspired by Germanium", whatever that even means. But Sweetwater and Thomann both say it has germanium diodes. Having a lot of fun with mine!
Yeah. Their information is a bit weird. I saw the note “soft clipping diodes inspired by Germanium characteristics”, but in their tech specs they mention: “All analog circuitry with Germanium diodes for soft transitional clipping”. Very interesting… cheers!
I agree. That’s why I’m always surprised when pedal makers make a big deal about using germanium diodes. I’ll admit, I don’t understand the complexities of what’s involved, but the parts never look expensive. 🤷♂️
@@CompanyGripGuitar they clip softer than a Si bjt's and diodes ..i dont know why i said anything about price lol BJT's are expensive though and somewhat rare so i can see why people pay but a lot of has to do with build quality and craftsmanship. for example, if im buying germanium fuzz its from a guy who hand makes them and is a small shop
Yes a comparison video would be great!
Got mine today! Looking forward to trying it out!
Let me know what you think!
This is my first Klon-style pedal. It's my favorite overdrive! Better than my Blues Driver (BD-2)!
I pre ordered mine along with the other 3 new pedals from Andertons in December It arrived on December 19th .Brilliant pedal.👍
Nice one!

Ordered my one late dec. can’t wait 😊

I plan on putting together something here eventually… just need the time! Ha!
It does sound real good though!

@AndrewAHayes JHS won’t be around much longer if they continue to overprice pedals. The competition is massive.
Less than half? It's a difference of $20.
Pre-ordered all three of the new pedals they're offering from Alto music still waiting but from all reviews it will be worth the wait 😊
Awesome video brother. I’m curious, is the melody at 11:00 your own? Or is it a song I can download? Love it.
Thanks! It’s my guitar cover of Grant Greens 1963 hit Idle Moments from his album of the same name. Cheers!

Paid $30 for klon which included delivery. Sounds great!! Great video!
Great deal!

SPEED OF LOVE takanaka!
Takanaka is the best! 🤘🏽

Looks more like schottky diodes than germanium to me.
Your title might just be a bit misleading huh ? Best version yet, nothing to compare it to.
There are tons of Klon Clones out there. 🤔
Why is the middle knob marked treble and not tone?
That’s how the original Klon was. I think the way to look at it is “treble cut or treble boost” rather than the overall tone. Probably same thing just different perspective. 🤷♂️

True, there are tons of copycats. I haven’t used the demonFX but would be curious to give it a shot sometime.

14:34 starts a bad ass riff. Reminds me of something just not sure what. Maybe The Cult.
Thanks!
those look like 1n34 or 1n270 germ they sell for like .75-1.50 usd
subbed lol ...i like channels that take sht apart

Yeah - its had a weird bit of in-stock/out of stock motions. 🤷♂️
Nice Post . So many talk about Centaur but never play it .. Love my Russian Big Muff for Boost . I bet it Kills the new Klone ?

@@RichardColon-fi3im Do words confuse you?
