I was also very disappointed with the deck’s d pad for fighting games. A lot of pressure was needed for diagonals to register, which made quarter circles incredibly difficult to input. But I read online that people said that the issue got better with use. It seems like there is some extra plastic that needs to wear down. So I spent like half an hour doing circles on the d pad while watching tv. And that totally fixed the issue! Now I can use it for fighting games with no problem.
😮 Thanks a lot for the tutorial video help! We gave up on Fightcade because we didn't know you could switch between the Steam Deck's Mouse/Pointer Configuration & Controller Configuration. You gave us the missing piece of our puzzle - #GGs and keep up the great video work 😎🎮👍
Not sure if it's just me or a new update happened but I copy and pasted the json file stuff into the area needed, but when I try to load a game, it doesn't download it. And I'm really not sure what to do.
I somehow got fightcade working in game mode without the need to go into the desktopmode. I was fiddling around with getting flycast working on the non-flatpak install of the game and installed a bunch of stuff. I can even open the roms folder now. Tested online and that works too.
There's a way to have it set up in gaming mode, it's how my friend uses it. I personally prefer it in desktop mode, as it feels more like the fightcade I know on PC.
@@PixelCherryNinja How did he manage that? I haven't been able to get it working in game-mode nor find any guides on it. I have my deck setup to run everything through game-mode for ease of pickup and play, and would love to figure out how to get that working.

Hey great info here thanks for posting. Just finding out about this today never knew it existed;) The issue I have is mapping my buttons to Mortal Kombat do you have a pre set for these? Cheers
Just map them and try saving as a preset. Hopefully it'll do the same as it does with Capcom and SNK presets. I am not speaking from experience, as I'm not a big MK player.
This will not work for me whatever I try. I tried this about a year ago now I remember why I stopped. Edit: Put the autodownloader files in the emulator folder and that worked.
I've never used my steam deck docked, well only for direct captures, never for playing. Fightcade is native to Linux, so input latency should be minimal.
I don’t know why my controls are not working properly. When I press the r trigger it minimizes the screen and when I press it again it closes the game. Somehow my controller is mapped to hit keys. How do I reverse this.
I'm having a weird issue in SteamDeck and ROG Ally- when I go to set up the controls it assigns them to ALT and ENTER and all sorts of stuff that makes it impossible to play. Is anyone else having this issue?
@@djdaweerdo937 I just found it in another video. On the login screen for fightcade, go up to ROMs, then select open rom folder. Then in the file manager, go to the address and back out one level, and that's where you paste the files. I will use this guide. Thanks a lot!. 3rd strike online with my Hori mini stick is awesome.
Nice. Enjoy. I think you can use it in gaming mode, but for me it was a bit iffy.
Have you played 3rd strike on PS3 or xbox360 with the same stick ? How does that latency compare to fightcade on a steamdeck ?

How well does the old Capcom marvel games play on this, like MVC1,2 or even CVS2. I assume you can do this on a Lenovo Legion Go as well right
They play well.
Yes to Legion Go, just download the windows version.

How do you get a trule full screen without the window and the task bar at the bottom?
There should be an option that starts the game in full screen mode.
hey this tutorial was great and it helped a lot but I can't open any Naomi games on fightcade not sure if anyone knows how to fix this

I haven't actually put fightcade on my Ally yet. Off the top of my head, all I can think is that you may have the controller set as mouse mode.
